I took my 12 year old great niece here today. She really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed spending time with her. However, that’s where it ends for this place. We had 2pm reservations and arrived about 10 minutes early. They ignored us for awhile until finally we were asked to have a seat and that our server would be with us soon to take us back. So we sat for another 20 minutes. Two other groups came in and they were told to wait as well and then they were called back before we were. Finally we were brought to our table. It took another 10 minutes for them to come over and give us a menu and told us they’d be back to take our tea order and then we could go to the vanity closet. The whole meal kind of went that way. Our waitress was not paying attention to our table(maybe because there was a larger group there? Oh wait no; that larger group had a different waitress). When I had made the reservations I explained that my niece is a vegetarian and they said no problem; they’d be asking us to choose a sandwich on that day. Well she didn’t ask; she just brought over all meat. We had to wait until we could get her attention again to ask and then she said she’d make another one for my niece. Yes. another 20 minutes later she brought another one over. The tea was fun and the scones were good. The rest of the food was meh. The service wasn’t great, though when we had service the waitress was nice. The idea of this place is awesome. it just needs a little more«special» added in. Not sure if it was worth it for what we paid.

This place exceeded my expectations on every level. I brought my 11-year-old goddaughter here today and now I’m thinking that the presents I have in store for her are going to pale in comparison. The two sisters who waited on us were nothing shy of DARLING. The food was fantastic, The presentation was flawless, and the ambience was simply perfect. This is our new annual tradition.

MAN!!! This is the 3rd year that me, my daughter and mom have come to Holiday High Tea here. LOVEIT!!! The shop is sooo cute and then they have a closet that you can put on fake jewlery, hats, scarves, feathery things to make you feel in the high tea mode! The tea menu is great! Awesome selections. Past 2 times I’ve gotten the Peaches and Cream TODIEFOR! We ended up purchasing some of the tea to take home! One small ounce will give you 9 cups of tea… yummmm. They bring you out so many delicious courses that we are stuffed when we leave. Its a fun thing for us girls to do and we will continue to do the Holiday High Tea!

The worst thing about A Dash of Panache is that they are not open 24⁄7. I could have their Piña Colada smoothes all day and get fat right there. I’m across the street drinking beer and wishing they were open. Merci beaucoup! Beer is not a bad second choice though.

This place is pretty lame. The«idea» of it is the best part about it. They were not very warm or welcoming. For a place that supposedly specializes in special occasions they did not make us feel very special. There wasn’t enough time for all the baby shower festivities so they hurried us along pretty much the entire time. It felt like we had to hurry up and have fun then get out of there. I felt bad for my friend who didn’t get to fully enjoy her«special» baby shower experience. They were like the baby shower nazis keeping us on a tight schedule. They hovered and mean mugged us and were very rude about wanting to get us out of there. We would have had a better time playing dress up and having a tea party at home, which is what I recommend if you are reading this. Their dress up closet is as lame as their customer service. There is a lot potential for them to step up their game.

Why are they so grumpy? Here to celebrate my friends baby shower and they don’t give you the welcome feeling The tea party style baby shower was a fun idea.

My mom and I had High Tea here earlier in the month. It was a delightful experience! The waitresses, sweet sisters, were very nice & friendly! They had a few tables, so they were attentive when bringing each table something, but I did run out of water and waited awhile for a refill. But they seemed busy, so no biggie. The tea foods were tasty! Loved and ate almost everything! They even let me switch my hot tea flavor because it wasn’t working for me. It was a great experience, with great pacing and scrumptious treats! On the less than positive side, the décor in the tea room is sparse and dated. Such potential, just needs some updating and TLC. And the gift shop area left much to be desired! I wanted to buy something, but couldn’t really fall in love with anything… Might need some new, updated merch. All-in-all though, it was a lovely afternoon and we will definitely come back!!!

I went back using another deal to enjoy a fun afternoon with my daughter. The food is excellent and tea selection is amazing. My daughter had so much fun dressing up. It’s just a fun outing for any age. We had a great time together. The service is great and friendly.

We have been here once for Luncheon tea with a deal, I think Livingsocial. Made a reservation and went in around 11am. The ambience is quaint and more on the formal side. They offer tea and a large sampler of assorted desserts like scones and cakes. They also had a girl’s birthday party going on. Overall it was a unique experience, but I probably wouldn’t go there without a deal

Went to the Dash of Panache for High Tea. We had reservations and they were not ready for us. It was the only slot they had open. We had to wait 20 minutes, standing around in their front tea and ice cream room. We drove and hour and a half to get here. I was disappointed. No one else was here, but another young mom with her daughter. The experience: You can pick one tea from a menu. Other tea rooms we have been to, you have the opportunity to smell the teas and choose from them. Here, you could only choose 1 tea from the menu and could not change unless you did not like it. The place settings were just clear glass, no china. boo! no linen napkins, paper. Food was barely mediocre. A mini cinnamon roll and plain scone with lemon curd, served a little thinner than I like. It was good, nice tart snap but runny. The finger sandwiches were white bread with lunch meat folded over in the triangles. small quarter size crackers served with hummus. Soup was ok. Dessert course was cute. A little mini heart shaped brownie, a little cream puff, orange slice in whipped cream(which was a little bitter) and a quaint little cup of sorbet with their signature heart drizzled in chocolate. The last course had a nice presentation, but the foods was no more than ordinary. Service was extremely slow. I would like to see the tea room dressed up, alot. it featured little pink plastic cases with things for little girls. It had a dress up closet which led me to feel more like it catered to moms and kids. Lots of blank wall. Not a lot to look at. It lacked the panache. For the money and the drive. I have to only rate it a 1.5 star. For the money…(a pretty fair portion) save it and go to a tea room that is more authentic and interesting and will cater to the high tea experience.

I have lived in Roseville for 27 years and believe in shopping and dining local. What I never understood about this place is that it was«never» open when my family and I had dinner in downtown, shopped during the day in downtown, etc. We were shocked to see people inside one day so we walked in only to be told it was closed for a private party. Oh I see, I can certainly appreciate that. Then just recently we happen to walk in and it was actually open for business, I think. Just like others wrote, it is very clean and I too smelled chemicals but it was clean so that is a big plus. We looked around at the darling collection of cups and fun things displayed while two gals were behind the counter carrying on a conversation. They never asked if they could help us or if we wanted anything — nothing, not a word. I walked up to the counter looking at things and the gals continued to carry on in their own little world. Shortly thereafter two ladies walked in and the same thing, they were not acknowledged as they stood there looking at the menu. Those ladies left very quickly while one said«nothing here for us». As soon as they left, I said to my friend«they must be preparing for another private party, there is nothing here for us either, lets leave» and we did. I am not sure what this place is all about beyond private parties that is posted as fabulous but for downtown Roseville, I hope they can step it up so we can continue to be on the map as a destination. two stars for clean and cute décor. zero for service!

We came here for lunch after reading a blog that this was a good place to come and then looking on the web site. I guess most people come for the tea experience and may not even realize that the have a nice menu for lunch with salad, sandwich and soup choices at a reasonable price. If you buy a chocolate brownie you get a «free» drink and for $ 1.60 that is a great deal. We ordered at the register and our lunch was brought out to us. I love supporting local businesses and don’t come downtown Roseville often so this was a nice quite lunch on my day off. My Veggie Tuscin sandwich was nice and warm and came with a small salad. My companion had half a veggie sandwich and soup.

Unfortunately my experience with this place wasn’t nearly as good as the experience of the other reviews :-( My daughter and I checked in for our reservation. When I made the reservation months ago, they must have asked if it was for a special occasion because the girl looked at my daughter and said«it’s your birthday?». She answered«yes» and that was pretty much the end of that. There was no other«above and beyond» to make her tea time a little more special. Not that I was looking for any more to happen, but thought, «why even ask if we’re coming for a special occasion and mention it at check-in if you’re not planning on a little „something“ for her»? Acknowledging a birthday to a seven year old at a place like this is an open door in their mind to the possibility of something special that could happen. My daughter didn’t say anything or expect anything to happen, but I still thought that whole situation was weird. Anyway, moving on. We were seated and the girl handed us our menus and said«I’ll be back to take your tea order». We overheard the other server explaining some teas to the other party sitting next to us. It sounded like they were special or new teas to their menu. It would’ve been nice to hear those selections from our server too. Anyway, she took our order and brought back our teas. She asked«do you know what to do?». Umm, I assumed she was asking me if I knew how to steep the tea. At this point I started to feel as if there was somewhere else she needed to be. We steeped our tea and poured them into our tea cups. I could not drink mine because it smelled like Clorox. I kept trying to figure out why I kept getting a whiff of Clorox every now and then and finally realized it was my tea(Georgia Peach). Bleh. Our first plate consisted of one cinnamon roll and two scones. Cinnamon roll was good, but not the scones. I understand scones are meant to be on the drier side… but not rock hard. Lemon curd was bland. Second plate had cucumber sandwiches for my daughter, some other sandwiches for me, hummus, a cucumber round thing, and a tortilla rolled something or other. Sandwiches were nothing at all to rave about, in fact, so much so that I really don’t remember what the heck they were. They gave me the«end» of the roll up thingy and it looked pretty unappealing. The next was a salad plate for my daughter, a soup, salad, and quiche for me. It was the best so far. But be warned ***they put pecans on the salad and slivered almonds in the soup****. None of this was told to us. We don’t have nut allegies, but I would think it would be safe to mention it to the patrons just as a heads up in case someone did have allergies. Even if that question was asked when the reservation was made. Lastly, we come to the dessert course. It was our final plate. Pretty much EVERY thing on the plate was frozen. It’s like they took it straight out of the freezer and served it. Just a little suggestion, you have ample time to get the desserts ready, why to take it out during the soup and salad course to let it thaw for a bit. No one, well at least not me, enjoys their brownies, cheesecake, and«fresh» strawberries frozen. I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately will not be returning. Oh, and my «I need to be somewhere else» server wasn’t even to one to take our payment. I had to walk it up to the front and someone else just happened to walk out from what I assumed was the kitchen and ended up ringing me up.

My friends and I purchased the LivingSocial deal for luncheon tea. The fine print stated that only one deal would be honored per party. We expected to sit at separate tables(since we made two separate reservations for the same time) but they were nice enough to seat us at the same table and honored both deals. We were a bit hesitant about this place initially since it took several calls for the line to go through. Scheduling was also difficult as they are not open on Saturdays. We made our reservation, for August, back in May. We arrived promptly at noon(our reservation time) and were seated within 5 minutes. Our server started us off with waters and gave us a bit of time to choose our teas. While waiting for our teas to arrive, we had fun choosing hats from the vanity closet. You could pick anything from the closet to wear throughout your time there. I hope they sanitize those accessories in the vanity closet! The tea was quite good, as was expected from a tea parlor. They have these hourglasses that help you make your tea perfect! The first course were the fresh-baked scones. They were delicious paired with their homemade lemon curd and heavy whipped cream. The gourmet chicken sandwich was my favorite! Next, we had our choice of either soup or salad. The soup was good, but nothing particularly memorable. Our last course was dessert. The dessert plate had a few pastries and a scoop of strawberry ice cream. Everything was nicely arranged, though our utensils weren’t completely clean! Service was attentive enough. The LivingSocial deal included having our photo taken, which she said would be emailed to us. I wish our server had done a better job of introducing each course to us. The next table’s server gave more detailed explanations. Décor is cute, ambience is nice. Only street parking is available, but it doesn’t seem like it’d be too crowded around the area. Overall, pleasant experience but I don’t think we would pay the full price. Only if there is another deal and we didn’t have to make our reservation for months ahead of time!

Wonderful afternoon w/Mom! Who is British, btw, and really appreciated this type of service being available. Bought the deal on Living Social. Reservation call was returned the next day. I’m no pastry snob, but I can say that all of the food was delicious! Loved the 4 course style of serving. Tea, pastries, mini sandwiches, and desert. You WILL be full. Very pleasant staff and a great unique experience. Will definitely return.

I found out of this place from a groupon. I didn’t really realize I needed a reservation though and ended up going there from Sacramento, making the reservation in person and coming back weeks later. It was really cool that you can play mini-dress up with their vanity closet and put on hats and jewelry. When we decided to sit down, I was happy to say the tea was delicious and I was able to try different flavors. They had such a large selection to choose from. I was really happy with the green and white teas. We started off with a small salad, adorable sandwiches and ended with an assortment of desserts. It was all so cute! The sandwiches were delicious as well. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I hope to come back here with friends in the future. :)

My mother and I went here for afternoon tea this week and was very disappointed! When we walked in the front door everything was clean and there was a cute set up, however even with someone coming in and out of the back several times it took almost 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. We had a reservation but were asked to wait while they prepared our table. Not a big deal as we were not in a hurry, but strange that it wouldn’t already be ready since there was only one other couple in the tea room. We were seated and given a menu and as we looked it over a girl from the back began to bring boxes of supplies through to the kitchen area. Now one or two trips, no big deal, but we were there for an hour an a half and she constantly made the trip back and forth occasionally bumping into tables on the way as the isle through is big enough to walk through but not as a route for supplies. When our tea came there was no sugar or honey or cream and none was offered to us. Both of our water glasses were empty prior to the tea coming out and though we asked for a refill they remained empty the entire time. Our waitress was nice enough, though she did not know the menu, the soup or salad of the day nor did she ever check on us to see if we needed anything else. The other waitress was able to assist when we flagged her down. As far as tea houses go, we’ve had much better experiences else where. I would not return.

My friend and I came here on Valentine’s Day, totally unplanned. I purchased a Groupon deal and it was expiring soon. The day we went was geared for couples, so that was kind of awkward but we made the best of it. Our deal was a luncheon tea for two. They have plenty teas to choose from. Being an amateur tea drinker made it hard for me to make a selection because they all sounded so good! All the food they served was pretty good, I was pleasantly surprised. My favorite was probably the scone+cream+lemon curd. I’ve honestly never had a scone so good! I can never go back to Starbucks’ pastries now! The servers and owner were very nice. There is even a closet towards the back of the restaurant where you can choose an insane hat to wear, complete with feather boas, baubles, and the like. My friend and I felt very ridiculous but it was fun dressing up. People never get silly anymore. Though I probably should’ve scheduled our tea for a day other than Valentine’s Day I have no complaints about this place. It’s cute and fun, would be perfect for a little girl’s birthday party. Be sure to make reservations as room is limited and they are not open 7 days a week.

My friend and I came here for lunch the day after Valentine’s Day because we saw the Groupon and thought it would be fun to try something new. I was honestly a little concerned about the character of the employees after reading a rant posted on their website about greedy Groupon holders, but this did not turn out to be an issue for us, so maybe it really was just an over-the-top response to incredibly rude clientele. Reservations need to be made well ahead of time. My friend and I both have pretty busy schedules, so ours were made three weeks out. When I made a reservation for 2pm on a Friday, the clerk was sort of rude, and informed me that they close on 3:30 on Friday. I asked her how much time she would recommend for the experience, and she said an hour to an hour and a half… Okay… Well I may not be a mathematical genius but that time frame seemed fine to me so we went ahead and booked it. I couldn’t help but laugh as I saw a party of ten come in at 2:45. Also, even with the reservations, we had to wait for at least ten minutes before being seated. Still, it was really fun. The tea was definitely the best tea I’ve ever had, and our waitress was very sweet and helpful. My friend ordered some sort of blue mango fancy tea, which was pretty good, and I got the vanilla chai, which was also pretty good. After ordering, my friend had told me that she was not a big fan of chai, and still ended up having two glasses of it. The food was Valentine’s-themed, which was cute, but I did think it was odd that nobody mentioned this to me when I made the reservations. They even asked us if we were there for the event when we were seated, which made me feel kind of awkward. Hopefully my married friend understood that my intentions were not to court her with a tea date. ;) The scones were absolutely the best scones I’ve ever had. Everything else was pretty good. Obviously the main draw of this place is that you dress up in big hats, jewels, and boas, and see how seriously you can take each other with your pinkies pointed out from your tea cups. The glamour closet was adequately stocked for the many women and one man present to deck themselves out. There was something really funky going on with the bathroom, but I think I saw a plumber going back there as we were leaving, so I’m assuming this is not an ongoing issue. If you are just looking for a good deal, this is probably not it, because you really just get a lot of tea and some tiny food, but it was a really fun experience. I definitely plan to come back with my daughter sometime.
