Four star for Art. He is a nice man and legendary. Restaurant OK. Nice bar though.

I am a huge fan of the Pasta King, and love the pesto lasagna, so I had to make a trip to the restaurant. Hostess was sweet and friendly, very accommodating and had our drinks out quickly. I brought my gremlins with me, so they obviously ordered a kid’s sized pizza. They watched the chef make it, and loved the taste. 5 stars for that. Here’s where it went bad. Art’s Place offers happy hour apps daily, and ordered loaded potato skins. Now, as an appetizer, aren’t they supposed to come before the meal? The timing was really off, as our main meals came before the appetizers. I asked for them to be removed from the bill since I wasn’t going to eat it with our main course. The salad was so-so, I ended up picking off majority of the toppings. When I order a salad, I want a salad. We live in a region where fresh vegetables are bountiful, yet I didn’t see any on the salad. But… what really pissed me off was when the male server brought it over and instead of making eye contact with me, he decided to watch the game on the TV. He caught himself and said«Sorry, do you want pepper on your salad?» I don’t like that. At all. In fact, all of the servers were watching TV like their customers weren’t even there. Just standing there, looking up with their eyes glued on the screen. Horrible customer service. All in all, an okay experience but I definitely won’t be back, and will be sticking to the frozen Pasta King from the supermarket.

I just discovered this restaurant about 6 months ago. I have eaten here several times since because I love the food here. I have never been disappointed. The food is flavorful and worth my drive from Petaluma. I find the flavors very authentic and the food always prepared as I order it. I met the owner as I was enjoying some gnocchi on a recent visit. He told me that he had made that gnocchi himself that day. I love that the pasta is fresh and homemade. For me it’s the best place for Italian food!

My wife and I eat here frequently. The food is consistently very good. My wife is vegetarian and gets veggie pasta dishes she enjoys and she loves the veggie calzone. I love the BLT, pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, and meaty pizza. Service is a little hit and miss, Keith is our favorite; he’s superb every time.

Delicious food and excellent service. Our server for lunch today was Javier, what a solicitous person, he was never bothered by us having an argument or me being moody and not answering what I want to drink. He just patiently kept coming back. Wonderful and the food was amazing!

During a road trip, we stopped here for some Italian dinner, and were not disappointed! I ordered the gnocchi and found it so delicious and soft, it was wonderful! The portions were HUGE, the staff was friendly, and I enjoyed the close, family atmosphere. The tiramisu was excellent too!

The pasta here is always pretty good. However, if you’re trying to watch your waistline, don’t go here. Their salads are… sad. They’re definitely not using super fresh veggies. The recipes and dressings are uninspired. Sonoma county is surrounded by so much good produce, they could stand to use some of it!

Here is such a thing as too fast when it comes to service. I ordered an appetizer, a starter salad, and an entrée. Instead of receiving them systematically, it bombarded me at once. The calamari was freezer burned and dried out; almost no seasoning. The Caesar salad was average. And the spaghetti and meatballs came out so fast that I highly doubt they cook the pasta fresh. The sauce is really good. The meat balls have great flavor but the texture feels like they are over worked in a mixer or have too much binding in it. If you want a great meal here, just ask for a bowl of fresh pasta tossed in their marinara sauce with a side of garlic bread and a house red wine. That will set you right for the evening.

Only okay food and service. Food was bland, some dishes needed salt, others garlic, and others, pepper, simple seasonings! No included soup/salad and only a tiny piece of garlic bread. Sure, you don’t go there to eat salad and bread, but missing those sides puts the overall experience down. Service was slow, even though the restaurant was only half full. Our waiter took a long time to take our drink orders and even pick up the bill. The kitchen, on the other hand, is spot on. Food took less than 10 minutes to get to our table! The restaurant was full of flies for no apparent reason…

This is truly a special place in RP. They always get your food out in a timely manner, service is always above and beyond and I love everything I’ve ever tried here. My fave appetizers are the hot wings & wedge salad and the entrée I love most is the fettuccine alfredo! Everything is always fresh & I highly recommended giving this place a chance!

«Nice folks makes mistakes but I paid for their’s, not good for the first time there!» 2 of 5 starsReviewed July 8, 2015 I ordered one pizza then munched my appetizer and talked with my host. After 40 minutes and my host almost completing her meal I watched as they took a pizza to another table who rejected it for some reason so that waitress gave my waiter their goofed pizza and wanted me to simply accept it even though it was NOT what I orederd… I was still charged the better part of 20 bucks to pay for their mistake. Being well trained in the service industry this is NOT the way to treat a customer. Very nice people, nice kitchen, great smells and generally happy people there… I even tried. p. s. Pizza arrived… COLD and although the table rack is made to have a candle warm the pizza… they had dispensed with that… this pizza had no hope of ever being hot. Visited June 2015, this should have received and had all the making for a 5 star rating, sorry.

The Pasta King is legendary!!! I am so happy that he opened up his own restaurant. If you haven’t eaten here, you’re in for a treat! We come here about once a month. Great menu, great beers on tap, fire kiln for cooking pizza. My husband gets the Nachos. He loves their nachos because they make their own chips. That are super thick and DONOTGETSOGGY right away. The Pasta King also has the best pesto lasagna! If you don’t have it here, you can also find the frozen pesto lasagna at Oliver’s Market. Staff is friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere & Clean bathrooms

I love Art. He is great for the community. I gave him 3 stars because of it. For some reason my mother in law loves this place so I am subjected to it all the time. First time: I ordered a pizza with tomatoes on top. I asked specifically if the tomatoes were ripe and not greenish. The waiter assured me it would be ripe. It came out and it was green in the middle and barely even pink around the edges. This was not a varietal. This was an under ripe tomato. It was mushy, mealy, and tasted like nothing. When a pizza is 80% topped with gross — the pizza is gross. Second Time: House Salad. Rotten leaves. Third Time: Pesto Gnocchi. Nothing wrong with it. Nothing good. All the times I went I had coffee. They asked if I wanted cream. I said yes. It always came with two. When the refills came — always after I flagged someone down, not before — they came without more cream. This is a total«which color sauce do you want on which carb» place.

This place gets 4 stars because of the staff. They’re awesome. Very friendly and very courteous. But what restaurant in this day and age doesn’t have WiFi? Seems crazy to me. I love to go to restaurants for lunch that have WiFi so I can work my way through. Too bad. I was using my hotspot regularly here but it just got too expensive. Bummer. I loved coming in. Haven’t been in for 4+ months.

Good service, and great wood fired brick oven style pizza! I had they day off for some Dr. appointments today. I spent some of the day watching Travel channel food shows working up an appetite for some great pizza and a couple beers. This place hit the spot! If your familiar with Sonoma County, you’ll know who the«Pasta King» is. There is some deep Italian roots that go back to Italy during WWII here. Today I ordered a wood fired pizza with pepperoni, red pepper and roasted garlic. Two Blue Moons helped wash it down. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to cure my hunger today.

Didn’t see Art, but I didn’t need to. The man is an institution in these parts and I wanted to honor him by eating here before heading back to town. It’s bright, cheery, and super casual inside, which seemed fitting as the weather was nice out. There’s more than just the Pasta King standards on the menu, which was nice. Soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and some other things that I can’t remember. It was lunch so I had soup and a sandwich on my radar. The minestrone was filling and as salty as you’d expect a minestrone. I ate a couple bites of the house salad, which was a cute little iceberg salad dressed up with beans, sliced salami, shaved cheese, and a couple other things. It reminded me of simpler days when people didn’t rage about kale. I liked it. We split a lunch special portion of penne alfredo and a turkey panini. The turkey panini with pesto sauce was more than filling(I probably should’ve skipped the minestrone) but I should have just gotten my own order of penne alfredo because hot damn, this is great alfredo sauce.

Pasta King? I beg to differ. My boyfriend and I came here after attending a graduation. My boyfriend got the most popular half and half pasta(half pesto, half spaghetti) and I wasn’t impressed. The pesto had a weird texture and was very citrusy. I had a turkey pesto Panini and was unimpressed. My Panini consisted of turkey, that weirdly textured pesto, tomato, mozzarella on focaccia. Although the focaccia alone sold me on picking this item, I was overall disappointed. The best part of this dish was the side of French fries! Upside: They offer a good selection of booze and the place is very nice but these reasons alone can’t justify a visit. Not quite sure why Art’s Place has such good ratings. I was especially hungry when arriving, yet I left unsatisfied. I was definitely disappointed by the quality of the food given the high ratings. It’s sad when the best thing on the table are the French fries. Definitely will not be returning!

Ive only tried the pastas and I think they’re absolutely delicious. Pasta is cooked perfectly al dente. The different sauces are so good, marinara, pesto, and my personal favorite, creamy marinara. I have a hard time finding restaurants that do creamy tomato-based sauces, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it on the menu here. The only reason I took a star off was because their garlic bread is dissapointing. 2 small rock hard pieces of bread… no thanks. It does nothing but take away from the awesome pastas. Ive had 4 different dishes and every single one came with the terrible garlic bread. I dont wanna chip a tooth while I enjoy my meal! Fix that and this place is a 5-star all the way :)
