Amazing ice cream and portions. So creamy and delicious! Ginger ice cream is the best! They also make a great lobster roll here! A must go to on the way up or back from the mountains!

Delicious ice cream! Reminded me of the old school places I went to as a kid. Portions are ridiculous though, so get a kids size unless you are splitting

I grew up with Lone Oak ice cream, it was all I knew as far as local ice cream shops, so I thought it was the best, little did I know that there IS better out there! This is your best bet for ice cream in town though. The portions are HUGE, I would recommend getting a child size, unless you’re splitting it with someone. The prices are a little high, last time we went there we got two frappes and it cost us almost $ 15, crazy! Summer nights are when its at its busiest, usually huge lines, long waits, not enough people working behind the counter.

Found this place via Unilocal and it’s amazing. The ice cream is homemade and the portions are huge. We also had a bite to eat and omg it was really good as well. The hamburgers and fries are amazing. I recommend this place to anyone

Lone Oak Ice Cream… Giant ice cream, reasonable prices, great service. While on vacation from Buffalo, New York, I went to Lone Oak for some ice cream with a couple of my family members. We went fairly late on a Monday evening(around 9pm) so the food portion was closed. Fortunately, we only wanted ice cream anyways. Heeding warnings from family members that reside in Rochester, New Hampshire, I knew to get a baby size. A baby size ice cream at Lone Oak is a medium anywhere else. At least two scoops of hard ice cream come with the baby size. From my understanding, Lone Oak makes their own ice cream, perhaps that is why it was about $ 3 – 4 for a baby ice cream. Or maybe it’s because a baby ice cream isn’t really baby. Regardless, the employees were friendly and Lone Oak is open late with great hours = four stars to me!

Great ice cream, good prices nearby Skydive New England too, they also have a nice side area that’s under thick trees for shade with great tables that could sit I dunno 7 or 8 people. Their staff is nice too very friendly and they don’t look at you when you make a complex request like you have 3 heads or something.

COWPIE. Just do it. It’s amazing. I do not even like chocolate that much and I am utterly, unconditionally INLOVE with COWPIE. It’s chocolate ice cream with a chocolate/fudge swirl, chocolate brownie or something. It’s delicious, creamy and decadent and not too sweet(and that means a lot to a girl who needs to drink milk with cookies because its too sweet). The portions are HUGE. I got a single… and it was about the size of a small softball. Prices aren’t too bad considering the portions all(maybe $ 3 and change?). I haven’t tried any of the flavors because none of them seemed that appealing to me. In Rye they have this infamous«Cookie Monster» that I’m itching to try, but they do not have it at the Rochester branch. They serve food too. I’ve never tried it though.

We stopped here after a long hot day at mud truck racing. Just what the. Doctor ordered! The ice cream was great and I thought the prices were fair. The choc chip was delish esp w the giant choc chunks. Really nice hot fudge sauce was yummy. Will stop there again!

My goodness — this ice cream is still the BEST after 20 years! Growing up in NH, I couldn’t wait to introduce my husband to the wide selection and HUGE servings I remembered from my youth. The selection of flavors was still impressive. And the servings are still HUGE! We also enjoyed a light lunch — which was super cheap(3 people ate for only $ 11). I’m so happy Lone Oak is still as good as I remembered.

While up in NH visiting my husband’s dad I of course wanted a Saturday night treat. I jumped on Unilocal, and this spot seemed to be our best bet. I was disappointed at first because all I saw was a listing of regular ice cream, and I prefer frozen yogurt. As we got up to the window I then saw a short list of specials, which included frozen yogurts and sorbets(wipe brow sweat!). I sampled the frozen yogurt selection(which drives my husband crazy) and ended up ordering a kiddie cup of Milky Way frozen yogurt. The frozen yogurt was an odd texture. It was way too soft and not too frozen, and I would think that the certain container was just left out, but from my samples they all seemed overly soft. The taste was just«ok.» Serving sizes were of course huge, and the kiddie left me no room for dinner. I guess I should be glad I didn’t have room for dinner. My husband didn’t want ice cream and ordered a chicken sandwich. He really wasn’t pleased with the results. So if you decide to go stick with the ice cream and stay away from the food menu! Would I go back? Probably, but I would prefer to pick up a half galloon of Turkey Hill at the local Hannaford’s.

I was told by a family who has been coming here for decades that I needed to try this ice cream. I was also told to get the smallest size possible because that would be more than enough to satisfy my ice cream craving. Well, I went and got the smallest size. The ice cream was ok. It is made right there, so I appreciate its hometown feel. I’m not such a fan of the flavors though. I’ve tried a few types(both frozen yogurt and ice cream) and was not pleased with any of it. I will say that I was excited about the variety of soft serve mixes available. This place is a value as a «small» size which is really humongous won’t set you back more than $ 3. The staff is also very, very friendly. However, I don’t know that I’ll be headed here anytime soon.

Very popular in this small town, but for good reason. The ice cream is great and for a good price. Friendly and quick service for being inundated most of the time.
