Francesca’s Pizza & Pasta

I called to place an order for delivery and my father was telling me what to get in the background so our order may have seemed a little confusing but instead of being professional and patient, the man on the phone said, «how about you put your father on the phone».
If he was confused he could have repeated the order back to me or even ask me to repeat it. So definitely order from this place if you like impatient rude people! :)

Ordered sandwiches two days in row from this place for my laborers working on my home remodel. They were impressed with the sandwiches so the the third time I called I placed an order for myself.
The food is good, had the chicken parm, eggplant parm, chicken parm dinner and margarita pizza, the pizza could have stayed in the oven a bit more but maybe they did not want to keep me waiting, still it was good. Each time I have ordered its been for take out, will probably keep it that way.
For local sandwiches and pizza this will probably be my go to place now.
I was ordering from Pompillos for a while but they are about the same with their food except what is absurd is that they have a delivery fee, even for orders in Westwood, a couple of blocks away.
The one thing that is surprising is the prices at Francesca’s, they are quiet less then most other places. Can’t believe you get a massive chicken parm sandwich for like $ 7.

We have been loyal Francesca customers for about a year. My husband orders pizza from here EVERY Saturday without fail but in the last two months we have seen such a change for the worse!
The owner has always been very kind, he’s delivered to our home before and is friendly. Some of the staff is ok, but there is one main worker in the front that just is so nasty it ruins the experience. As for the food, it’s usually pretty good (great, even) but twice recently we have gotten pies that didn’t seem too fresh.
Two weeks ago my husband stopped in to order a pizza and the guy literally pulled a slice pie out from under the counter, warmed it, and charged us full price for it. Gross.
Tonight we called at 9 (I’m under the impression they’re open til 10) and that same guy didn’t even say the business name, he answered the phone, «I’m not taking any more orders tonight»… So I said «excuse me» because I thought I was going crazy… No, he just repeated that.
So we called Broadway pizza (who is on their way!) and will continue to do so EVERY SATURDAY until something gives over there.

Pizza, like anything else, is so personal. Personally speaking, Francesca’s has the best pizza, hands down. Love their meatballs. And their chicken caesar is fantastic. Sal is the most service oriented, people pleaser I have ever met in the service industry. We ordered a bunch of stuff one night for delivery. We were all happy with what we got in a timely fashion. We were about halfway through our meal when the doorbell rang. It was Sal. They forgot the complimentary salad that came with one of the meals. We never called to say we were missing anything because we were blissfully eating. That’s customer service. Yes, sometimes it gets crazy in there, but it’s worth the wait or if you’re die hard Francesca fans like me and some of my friends, we order by 5 on a crazy Friday night and heat everything up when we’re ready to eat, on our time. I would rather reheat than get a mediocre meal elsewhere.

Best food in the area. Sal and Fran are the best owners around. Very attentive and cordial

I come here regularly, but will not be returning after tonight. Not the owner, but one of the men in charge up front was very rude. My friend forgot cash so asked if we could split our bill halfway with two cards. He gave us the nastiest look and continued to do so as swiping and returning our cards. It wasn’t even busy as it was a Monday night. Plus, I think we got overcharged. $ 16.50 for a medium pie (on menu says 9.95) with half bbq chicken and 1 snapple. Doesn’t sound right to me.

I decided to try two pies and two heroes from here. I placed my order and specifically requested «well done» pies. To me, quality pizza is more the dough and preparation, than it is loading with toppings.
Instead my pizza was essentially raw and doughy, quite chewy. You know what I mean, the kind of pizza where you just eat half the slice, then throw the rest of it in the garbage. The toppings were OK, but rather light. Aside from the the amazingly poor quality of the dough preparation, there is nothing at all memorable about this pizza.
The chicken parm hero was a bit better, decent amount of chicken and just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The sausage hero was another failure. Light amount of quite undercooked and poor quality sausage. This detracted from what might be a decent sandwich.
Francesca’s is inexpensive and is a perceived good value. However, there are SO many better pizza places out there. I suppose it depends on what your standards for quality are. However, my recommendation is to pass.

How awesome does their pizza get?! A simple margherita was heaven at first bite!

Great local North Jersey pizza. I have lived in this area for 20+ years and finding amazing pizza is very very easy. So over the years, I have pretty much been a creature of habit and go to the same pizzerias Friday after Friday without even considering the others I have never tried.
On Sunday, my mom and I were out shopping and got hungry so we walked in to a pizzeria that has been in our backyard for years but we never tried.
The pizza was delecious, we both got a spciality slice. I got a BBQ chicken slice and her a salad. We were both very impressed and satisfied.

Sal is the best. Always so nice. Pizza is delish and chicken parm heroes cannot be beat. Maybe not the best looking place but 5 stars for the food and service!

The pizza is good, especially the Grandma’s pizza. The rest of the food is only ok. The service from everyone but the owner is fine. The owner, Sal, is cranky and extremely unhelpful. If he’s a little bit busy he simply ignores customers and the telephone. If my son didn’t love their pizza, I would never go there again.

For me, this is the best slice of pizza in my neck of the woods. Even better than Rudy’s in Closter (though Rudy’s is damn good).
Perfectly crispy bottom. Chewy cheese layer on top. Just enough sauce to keep it moist but not soggy.
I only eat pizza here because to me their slice is the best. I don’t want anything else from their menu because of this. So I cannot make an accurate judgement of that, but a pizzeria should be judged by their pizza first and foremost, right? Not by the wait staff or how good their salads are. I mean COME ON people!
The other places around have too much dough in their pizza. Making it too mushy for my taste and overly filling. Francesca’s slice is perfect for its textural balance.

Not really into pizzerias so I was skeptical to say the least when my bf suggested we get a chicken Caesar salad from here…
But guess what ???
It was FABULOUS!
Very generous portion of chicken — pounded and seasoned with a very lovely mix of spices.
Salad was HUGE and full of goodies (cheese, olives, roasted peppers .etc)
Caesar dressing I only eat if it’s the real deal, so I can’t comment on the dressing from here as I didn’t touch it.
This will definitely be my go to place when I’m strapped to find a quick dinner

Great pizza but HORRIBLE service. I personally haven’t ordered from there in nearly three years because I was treated terribly by one of the owners and decided not to give my money to a place that treats their customers so poorly. But my family continued to order from them.
Tonight my sister called to order 6 pies as we had company. They hung up on her. Then she called back and they picked up and said hold, then disconnected her. She called again and finally was able to place the order and they said they won’t deliver it because it’s too large, then hung up on her. She finally called back one more time and they told her «we’re too busy to make you that many pizzas, call back in an hour and then we’ll talk.» We ordered from Original’s in Washington Township, and it was awesome. We will never order from Francesca’s again. I’ve heard stories like this from other people as well, and it’s the customer service that will wind up shutting them down.

I have tried this place a few times because its close to my house. The pizza is ok, not bad, not great, average.
I tried the lasagna recently and was disappointed, very loose, barely any sauce, just watery and void of any flavor.
Last week I gave it another shot and ordered the veal parmigiana dinner which was awful. The veal was as tough as shoe leather, barely any sauce again, and it came with the pasta in the same container. The problem with doing that is when the cook heats up the pre-​cooked pasta by dunking it in boiling water for a minute and then quickly pulls it out and dumps it in the to go tin, a half a cup of water gets in as well, so my food was swimming in water.
The serve big portions, but who wants big portions of crappy food. Stick with the pizza.

Want a great sandwich or some very decent pizza — go to Francesca’s and ask Sal to make whatever you heart desires. It will be goodi. The chicken Parm hero is the best I have had in years and the pizza is above average.

I’ve never had a pizza that was completely devoid of any flavor until i tried Francesca’s. Like eating a cardboard box…
