My fiancé, some friends, and I went there last night for Valentine’s Day, and they had some good things going for them. Their steak was on point, probably the most accurately cooked I’ve had in a restaurant. Their mix drinks are amazing. My friends did get the brew sampler, and being as they were out of one of the flavors, they gave him the option to pick another. We they brought it out, the glass was half full compared to the others. Felt kind of cheap. Oh, and if you don’t like onions, don’t get the apple slaw! Would I recommend this place to a friend? To get drinks, yes, but not to eat there.

DONOTGOHERE! Came here for my birthday dinner. The Entire staff ignored us all when we walked into the door! Then when someone felt forced to help us, we were told they want to close early cause there wasn’t enough people all day long. Then we were offered nothing but late night snacks due to the staff stating they did not wanting to cook and to just go home early. We are disgusted they would treat us this way, especially after driving 1 hour just to come here for my special occasion. Scared to think what they would have done to our food if we even stayed after that terrible treatment. Save your money and goto Maggianos

The food was very good. The service at the bar was good. Our waiter for dinner was awful. When we received our food the guy(not our waiter) who brought it to our table didn’t wait long enough to see if we needed anything. Well we did need something! We needed silverware so we could eat our meal! We had to flag down some other wait staff to get our silverware for us. Our waiter only checked on us one time during our meal. He didn’t refill our water glass until we were getting ready to pay for our meal. They were very busy, but our waiter had no interest in being there and doing a good job.

I came to Rock Bottom for a work holiday party with a large group of people. While they were busy, they were very accommodating. We called a week in advance to make reservations which was a big plus considering a lot of places in short pump do not allow reservations for big big parties. The servers were quick and answered a lot of our questions as well as gave drink suggestions. Even though happy hour was over, they still have us happy hour prices which was a big plus. When we went, the place was pretty full with football games showing on their TVs around their bar and music playing in the background. The ambiance was pretty loud so if you are expecting a quiet dinner with nice conversation, this is probably not the place. I ordered their chicken mac and cheese and it was amazing. The meal also included tomatoes and mushrooms which really brought the whole dish together. The prices are a bit high but I do believe it was well worth the price.

Knowing we were going to be snowed in for a few days, we decided to go out ahead of the storm to have dinner. I wanted to go to Fat Dragon, but my husband had a soccer game at XL Sports at 8, so we had to stay close to home so he could eat, drop us off at the house and dash down to Midlothian from Short Pump. So, left it up to daughter and hubby to pick a place and they picked Rock Bottom. Arrived just after 5… they had a decent crowd, but there was a bar table open, so we picked that as our landing spot. I had the nitro stout, hubby had the IPA… bonus…pints are $ 3 during happy hour. I should mention they also have a decent happy hour food menu with bites ranging from $ 3-$ 7. We bypassed the apps and went straight to entrees since we didn’t have much time. My daughter ordered a cheese flatbread with a side of fries(she’s carbo loading), hubby ordered buffalo wings and I got the sirloin and Cajun shrimp combo with red rice and black beans. Delivery of the food was pretty quick. Just when I saw the bottom of my pint… voila, food shows up. French fries delivered… check, but oops, we made a pepperoni flatbread instead so it’ll be 6 more minutes. No worries. The manager said he took it off our tab, but it was still on the bill when we paid. Husband’s wings showed up without incident. My dinner was another story. Shrimp were just plain olé shrimp – nothing Cajun about them. The good news is I could tell they were wild caught because they were various sizes. The red rice was crunchy, but the black beans were pretty good. Steak was perfectly cook and the chimichurri was good. I asked our server if I could replace the rice with veggies because the rice was undercooked and crunchy, and she graciously obliged my request saying that sometimes the rice dries out because it sits. Plus side… the veggies were a mix of chayote squash, peppers, onion, snow peas, jalapeños, which was nice. I’ve eaten here before… mostly bar food… and it’s better. more like 3 stars. Don’t think I’ll come for a meal again anytime soon, if at all. If I’m staying in Short Pump for dinner, I prefer the steak at Firebirds, which is just below, or the myriad restaurants in the area. But, when I want to have a beer and wings or nachos mixed with a little shopping, I’ll stop at Rock Bottom… the beer is pretty good and the happy hour not bad.

Came on a quite Sunday night to catch up with friends and grab a beer. Heard this place had a good late night special that ran through the weekend so I decided to check it out. Basically the service SUCKED. Upon arriving we weren’t even greated at the door and saw no one around so I assumed we picked our own table. We waited for over 10 minutes for someone to come to the tabel. It took so long I went and grabbed some menus myself from a nearby hostess stand. Finially someone did show up but he didn’t even introduce himself or bring us water. The beer selection is decent with house made brews and local brews on late night happy hour which was nice. We ordered the tabel nachos which had a pretty presentation but the overal appetizer was MEH. For the main course I got the sante fe chicken salad & the other people in my party had the house steak with bourbon glaze, mac and cheese, cajun shrimp, and steamed broccoli as well as the grilled chicken with fresh veggies and mashed potatoes. Overall the food was decent but the service stayed consistently bad. Our servier didnt bring us any silverware and completely forgot the order of. cajun shrimp Since he forgot to put in the order of shrimp he said he wouldnt charge us; well when we got the bill he did. Overall its not a bad sports bar, mind you the service needs some serious training but the wood wasn’t that bad. I really like how each tv in the bar is marked what game if being played so you wont miss your fav team. I also think the late night happy hour is really good and the outside patio has potential. Maybe I’ll give it another try in spring.

«Meh» pretty much sums it up. I have been here twice and both experiences have been great, but nothing to write home about. I can’t remember what I got the first time, but last week I got the Shrimp and Lobster enchiladas and wasn’t all too impressed with the dish. The service seemed to be a little abrupt. In her defense, it was a really busy night. The place was packed! Even though she was abrupt, our server was able to answer questions that we had and recommend dishes. The enchiladas came highly recommended so I was excited to try them. I was able to substitute my rice(trying to do the low carb thing) for a side salad, which I was happy about. Speaking of the salad, it was huge! I could have just eaten that for the whole meal and been satisfied. Now on to the enchiladas. They were wrapped in a corn tortilla and oozing with filling. The problem is that the filling wasn’t good. The lobster was nowhere to be found and that’s the part that I was most looking forward to. The beans were über salty, but I still enjoyed them. Overall, this is a chill place to come eat with a group of friends while at Short Pump, but I wouldn’t necessarily choose to come here.

Nachos were delicious but a bit much for two people. The turkey burger was incredible! Highly recommend! Really liked that the pagers allowed you to still shop while waiting for a table. Staff was friendly and service was fast.

Another good meal! The wicked elf rocked ! Wings were a small portion! Wife loves the fish tacos. I had the standard burger which was good. Cooked medium rare and came out medium ! I did enjoy sitting right at the kitchen window !

Arrived on a busy night right before Thanksgiving for dinner. Tons of seating, not a whole lot of lighting, and a wide spread menu with Italian/Cajun/Mexican flair to American food. Entrances are available from within the mall or outside of the mall. I parked right in the area of Texas de Brazil/Funnybone and took the escalator right up to the main entrance. Our meal took a good 20+ minutes to arrive and in that time, our waitress checked on us once. Once the food arrived, she checked on us no less than 4 times, asking us how our food was even before I was able to take a bite. Not complaining, but it was starting to get a liiiiittle irritating. I had the shrimp and lobster enchiladas and asked for the cream sauce on the side(it didn’t happen, but whatevs). Taste wise it was decent but nothing to rave about. I got 3 enchiladas stuffed with shrimp and almost no lobster, but I wasn’t expecting a whole lobster tail or anything. Beans were inedible… wayy too salty. Everything else was ok. Overall this would be a fun place for groups to hang out and catch up, maybe not for a close personal date though, since it does get pretty loud.

Honestly for a chain this is one of best breweries I have been to. They actually brew on site vs chains that send in to their restaurants. The food in addition to the crafted beers is nothing short of excellent. But expect to wait for a table in the evening as this place gets crowded.

Good for lunch, happy hour or dinner. They have a nice selection of food with specials every month. They brew the bear on site and you can even see the brewmasters at work during the day. When the weather is warm they have a very nice outdoor seating area.

Rock Bottom eh? The culmination of a descent to a place where a person has nothing left to lose in terms of possessions, status, wealth and perhaps even shelter as a result of self-destructive behavior. Alcohol and drug abuse are often contributing factors. References by musicians, companies and in movies could be an allusion to this. So how about we name our lackluster bar this? This is where an advertising agency with Don Draper would have rescued you. They would have fixed this and called it something else. This chain was founded in Denver for Pete’s sake. From the website: «When you hit Rock Bottom, you’ll enjoy our handcrafted beers, our made from scratch food, and something else that just doesn’t happen that often… a connection to the locals.» You can’t make this stuff up. Made from scratch food? Are you really going there? Let’s not kid ourselves. This is a just a dolled up TGIF|Applebee’s|Chili’s casual dining place that happens to serve craft beer nothing more. I’ve been here three times and it’s all just more of the same. Large chain, performance food group supplied crap. Even if that’s not your specific food source distributor it’s all just cheap food thrown on a plate. I did like the beer though. The house beers are nice. I like that your menu clearly states: fresh handcrafted beer is the only beer. You HAVE to respect that at least. I have a new name for this place, instead of Rock Bottom how about Butherface Brewery? Smokin’ body butherface was so nasty I had to get out the old paper bag.

Been here quite a few times. It seems like the server is overloaded with one table asking her for any and everything each time she passes by them to seeming annoyed when taking our order. I was a little put off but watching how she handled the guests at that table not allowing them to cause her to lose her cool made me appreciate her a little more. I had had a long day traveling and in meetings in DC and then traffic so trying to get in a nice dinner with my family was the only thing on my mind. I wasn’t going in a positive direction on this review for Rock Bottom but I must be honest The manager, Dale saved the review and the evening by being observant of the guests in and outside this busy restaurant. The nachos with chicken were great. Served with sour cream and slightly spicy sauce didn’t last long. The kids had a burger and grilled cheese while my wife enjoyed a cheese pizza and I had the street tacos appetizer as my entrée. No complaints and we will definite stop in again soon.

My other half and I came here on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t crowded at all at there were just enough servers working. We started with a beer sampling. My hubby is an IPA fanatic so he already knew what he wanted. I, however, am a fan of lighter bodied beers like Stella Artois. I sampled 3 delicious beers but none quite as light as I like so I opted for a house made mango margarita instead which was delicious(they are only on the rocks which I love). As we sipped, we perused the menu. Our waitress remained patient and friendly despite our lack of urgency and indecisiveness. We both got burgers – the classic and the smashed – with broccoli mac and cheese and fries for sides. We shared the sides which were all delicious(especially the Mac and cheese) but not our burgers which were perfectly cooked(medium well) on soft buns. My only wish is that the bun was smaller or the burger bigger as we discarded a lot of the delicious bread. I also wish they used romaine instead of cheap iceberg lettuce(not a fan). Overall we had a great though slightly pricey($ 47) experience.

I really want to like this place. The bar is open and a fun place to hang out. I love beer and I love the location. Unfortunately, I have just never found anything on the menu that I like. On this visit we got the sliders and fish tacos. The sliders were very boring and typical. The tacos had way too much hot sauce on them and I’ve always thought the feta cheese they top it with is just a weird choice. One of my pieces of fish definitely looked questionably cooked. I’ve never had bad service here but they’ve never been super friendly either. This is a fun place to hang out on the patio or at the bar but that’s it. I definitely don’t recommend it for dinner.

First time here with my co workers. This is located upstairs at short pump mall on top of the funny bone comedy club. The place is nice, our server was pretty good, and the food was good. I tried the hand tossed chipotle pizza, it was really good and enough for twoto share. I chose a side ceasar salad to fill me up and I left there full and hally. The drinks were damn good too, i had a sangria that was super delicious.
