My wife and me came here the Saturday of Valentine’s Day weekend. I was looking for a fine wine and dine type experience. Reservation was at 9 and we got there at 8 and each of us had a couple drinks in the lounge/bar area. There must not be a dress code because a couple came in wearing t-shirts and shorts and sat in the lounge area and ordered there dinner and loudly talking about how they didn’t have to dress up to eat at a nice restaurant. It got a little awkward when he unbuckled his belt and put his feet on the table waiting for his food. We moved from the lounge to the bar to wait there instead. In my opinion, don’t advertise a 4 diamond restaurant and charge for an expensive atmosphere and allow that to happen as management. The bartender asked us if we had reservations and we said yes, at 9pm. He said it didn’t seem right and he will double check considering it was 9:15. It wasn’t until 9:30 we were sat at our table. The food overall was excellent and portions were great. We didn’t get our main course until 10:30pm which seemed like a really long time, but they were busy so I understood. We got the check and it was for the wrong amount(much lower than it should have been). The waiter apologized and brought back another check. I looked it over and noticed again they forgot the four drinks we ordered prior to being sat. At this point we needed to get home for the babysitter, I went to the manager and explained they forgot to charge us for drinks, but I needed to get this corrected quickly as we were sat a half hour late, food took a long time and we have a babysitter that needed to get home. She took about 5 minutes and brought back the new check for the full price and said thanks for the honesty. I guess I was hoping the honestly would have earned a little discount considering it added $ 48 to the tab, maybe split the difference considering the not so great experience I explained to her. Anyway, I paid the bill and we left. Food was excellent and restaurant appearance was nice, but the overall service was not what I expected from a fine dining restaurant and the fact there is no dress code of any kind was disappointing. I will not be returning to this restaurant as I can get same quality food at many other places that don’t charge for the fine dining experience that we didn’t get anyway.

This was our 3rd visit to the Steak House in the last 4 months and the most disappointing. Our visit last evening was a night not one to remember. A very expensive Birthday dinner that left us really disappointed. The worst escargot ever which was lacking flavor and garlic. I’ve had this before and it was good, but not this time. My mom has celiac disease and her salad was missing everything except lettuce and few tomatoes it was one big pile of lettuce and dressing. We should of sent it back, so shame on us. I had crab legs which were«fishy» but edible that night and not the next. The service was good, but support staff was not the best. I asked the hostess to please put my flowers in some water or wet paper towel and she did nothing, so they died. They also didn’t put my crab leg(the body at the end of the leg with the most meat) in the box or the mashed potatoes and asparagus in my friend’s box, so she was really disappointed. When you go to a five star restaurant, pay a five star price, you expect five start service. This just wasn’t happening. Oh, and were over charged for our wine, but I caught that mistake. It saddens me to say… we will not return.

I dined here for my pre-valentine’s dinner with my husband. I was expecting a great tasting steak but to my dismay, the Kansas City ribeye I ordered was very fatty, a little dry and bland. I’m a little sad that I didn’t go back to Sterlings steakhouse.

This a great steakhouse, the food was amazing. We had the Kobe, which was very good with a nice flavor. We also had the filet, which was spectacular, the sides were delicious and the wine pairings were great. The service was attentive and helpful, and not overbearing. They were helpful and accommodated our last minute addition of our party. I highly recommend this restaurant!

We have dined at the Atlantis Steakhouse many times over the last several years the service and food was exceptionally good for Reno. Sadly, our visit last evening was a night not to remember. A very expensive Birthday dinner that left a sad face on my wife. The service remained the same, quite satisfying, I wish I could say the same for the food. 1. The escargot wasn’t quite the same. Lacking the usual essence of butter and garlic. 2. The Filet Mignon’s where flavorless and cold. 3. The shrimp scampi was a little«fishy» and also served cold. The bread basket was the highlight of our meal. Honestly, that’s pretty much all we ate. It saddens me to say… we will not return.

Every once in awhile I wish Unilocal allowed an extra star for restaurants that deserve even more than 5 Stars… and Atlantis Steakhouse is one of those times! What a lovely evening we spent last night celebrating our son’s 15th birthday. We arrived at our designated reservation time(you better make reservations or you will probably will be waiting a long time) and were seated in the most comfortable booth. I am not sure what the leather is they use for these booths but I could sleep in them(no really… they have comfy pillows and everything). We were there with the teenager and one of his friends. Anyone who has teenage boys realize they do not usually notice anything other than their phones, girls, and food… but alas not at the Atlantis Steakhouse! The boys were so impressed with how they were treated by the staff, the table, the lights, the surroundings… they understood they were in for a treat! Robert was our server and he was incredible! I loved how he interacted with the boys, treating them as the young men they are. It was wonderful how they made sure to not overlook any detail and by congratulating our son when he sat down on his birthday. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, and the men ordered steaks. The Sea Bass was encrusted with pistachios and was the best I have every had… anywhere…and that is saying something! Perfectly prepared, the flavors were incredible and hearty yet the dish was light… perfection! The men loved their perfectly prepared steaks and the sides of creamed spinach, truffle mac and cheese, and steak fries(hey they are teenagers). Lastly we ended the evening with bananas foster and the ice cream both made table side. Now I am not a science person so I do not understand the science behind the ice cream(although the 15 year old tried to explain it all too me) but it is fascinating to watch. The ice cream last night had salted caramel and bourbon sauce… angels were singing somewhere! The bananas foster were so light but exploding with orange, and buttery flavors… heaven for your tongue. I was talking with the teenager this morning and he told me he couldn’t have asked for a better birthday and I had to agree this one will be hard to top… although i will be diligent in trying ;-)

The greatness started with the call to make the reservation. They ask if you are celebrating a special occasion or if you have any food allergies. Bravo for planning ahead. 7:45 reservation for 2 on a Friday night arrived an hour early with hopes they could seat us early and sure enough they were able to accommodate. More greatness! Keith has been our waiter both times we have been here and he is top notch. Professional service is almost a thing of the past. It’s nice to see some establishments still uphold the tradition. I highly recommend the pork belly lollipops as an appetizer. They should be illegal. The Soup de Jour was a seafood chowder which was very mild and fresh. The halibut was equally as mild and fresh. The portions are very large. I had a Hemingway Daiquiri which was slightly too tart for me but it was made with fresh unsweetened grapefruit juice so completely understandable. Still a very good elegant drink to accompany dinner. The overall experience was relaxing and highly enjoyable. The quality of service contributed a great deal to the likeability of this place. This is currently my favorite Reno Steakhouse and I’ve been to all of them several times. Keep up the good work Atlantis.

OK, this was an epic dinner. Keith our server gave advice and guidance when needed; which was spot on. I went to dinner here with friends and co-worker while in Reno for a conference. Our host picked this restaurant based Unilocal reviews, so I figured I had to add my own. For appetizers we had prawn cocktail and calamari. The prawns were very sweet, but what really made it fantastic was the serving dish. A bowl of glowing ice and smoke. The calamari was superb. I would return just to have an order on top of a salad. There were no frozen rings here, we were served squid strips. Each was about five inches long and about a quarter inch wide. Freshest squid I have ever had. Tender and fried in a tasty batter. I had the Duet, a choice of one steak and one seafood. I chose the veal chop and the scallops. The veal was cooked to order and had a nice sear crust. The scallops were a little salty, but cooked perfectly. I left my drinks to Keith and he really came through. After asking a few questions about my preferences; he opened with a St Petersburg Mule with appitizers and a glass of Schug Pinot Noir for the entrée. Well Done Sir! Dessert(SAVEROOMFORDESSERT) — If you can take food home, stop eating half way though your meal so you can eat dessert. We ordered one dessert for the table because we did not have the power to stop eating. We ordered the –321 Ice Cream. They make the ice cream at the table using liquid nitrogen. So much fun and eye opening science experiment. The spiced plum ice cream was delicious and fitting to the meal. Keith brought a second dessert to congratulate one of the ladies at the table becuase she is pregnant. Again, well done Sir! Finally, we had to leave. Were packing up when Keith brought us coffee cake slices for breakfast. It was delicious. When leaving, we mentioned we needed a tax, since we were not staying at the Atlantis. Keith walked us to the front, where he asked if the Atlantis shuttle was avaliable to take us back to our hotel. They were kind enough to take us back to our hotel with a fully stocked mini bar shuttle/limo. Our hotel would not even call a taxi for us to go to dinner. I plan to post this review to another site, so I am sorry if you read it twice.

When you walk in you think this restaurant is a bit full of themselves with their high back chairs and luxurious booths, but prepare to be impressed. We arrived about 5 minutes before closing on a Sunday night and while the service is relaxed(not slow, relaxed), it is quite good. The food is excellent. We ordered the Kings cut of prime rib medium rare and it compares favorably with the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco(did I mention that this was at closing time on a Sunday?). The coffee was elegantly served and good, and if I had room for dessert I am confident it would have been first rate. Right down to the hot towels to clean up after the meal, it was excellent from beginning to end(the bill was quite reasonable too, about $ 130 including tip). I will return and highly recommend it. Returned tonight. Service was excellent, Brittany and Cameron were terrific hosts, and the food is the best I have had in Reno.

On Feb. 10, 2015 we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. we’ve stayed at the Peppermill every year for our anniversary. 5 of us decided to go to the Atlantis for dinner, just for a break in casinos. we went to the steakhouse(never hearing of it before) so we had no idea of how the food was. Our server was Anthony F. i had a filet and lobster and a bottle of delicious champagne. i’ve never writen reviews, but in this case i wanted to let you know that this was the best meal i have ever eaten, and i’ve had several good steak and lobster dinners. the bread was outstanding(i ate too much of it), the salad delicious. the surprising hor d’oeuvre we were given was delicious. upon our surprise we were given a «happy anniversary» cake with fruit. there was not one thing that i, or anyone in our crowd, was unhappy with. They even handed us breakfast cinnamon rolls 2 large and homemade for breakfast in the morning. As for our server, Anthony F… What an outstanding young man/server. He was at our beck and call at all times and we never lacked of anything… He kept my champagne full at all times(lol). He was so polite and easy to talk to and made us feel so comfortable. I just wanted you to know what an outstanding server you have and how much I enjoyed your food(all of it). As I say, without hesitation, it was the best meal I have ever eaten… The fillet was so tender and the lobster was fantastic. e every eaten… THANKYOUSOMUCHFOR A WONDERFUL40THWEDDINGANNIVERSARYSUSANKEENAN, BAKERSFIELD, CA

Fantastic service and half and half on the food. I was warmly greeted at the front desk and was quickly brought to my own table for one(I was about to leave for the airport and wanted to grab something nice to eat before leaving.) The service here is phenomenal. My servers were nothing but helpful to me and cannot compliment them enough for that. Onto the food: Free bread: I’m pretty big on free bread, and this free bread was delicious. It was so good, they left me take my leftover bread home. Pan seared Foie Gras: My bougie side is coming out. This is about the best foie gras I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve eaten quite a bit of foie gras over time. Full hearty portion(I was actually stuffed after eating it) and delicious. Everything in this dish paired really well. Sirloin steak with soup: Their soup was a steak chili — nothing bad at all, you could tell all the ingredients were fresh. The steak itself was a bit of a disappointment. It was a little tough and a little dry toward the outside, but further into the meat, it was actually very delicious, great flavor. However I’ve also had better steak in all, though this steak was still pretty good. The complimentary sauces that came with it were terrible though. I’d avoid it, and besides, great steaks don’t really need additional sauces. Overall, amazing service(10⁄5 if I could choose!) and good food(¾ good!) that it would be worth it to come here, if not just for the foie gras.

After reading the reviews our expectations were high and I’m thrilled to admit this restaurant did not disappoint. From the beginning the bar tender helped us choose the best wine by the glass to begin our special night. Then the fabulous night continued to our dining experience. Keith and Joe were attentive the entire evening. Keith even helped us choose our meals. My rib eye was one of the best steaks ever over tasted and I loved the accompanying sauces. My husband ordered the sea bass and it was good just not amazing so stick with the steak when ordering! The bread basket and coffee cake to go were really yummy too. This place was a splurge but worth it. Our night finished with a complimentary Happy Anniversary dessert– perfect indeed.

Finally got in for a special occasion, our anniversary. Won’t wait for such occasion again. Talked to Ali a couple of weeks prior to make the reservation. He noted the occasion and that I wanted a specific bottle of wine chilled and ready for us. He greeted us, seated us right away and introduced us to Clint, our server for the evening. Then immediately brought out the wine. It was fabulous, because on the way there my hubby said it would be great to enjoy a bottle of Asti tonight. Clint was fun of smiles all evening, what a great waiter. He didn’t rush us at any point all evening and also offer to explain any menu questions that we might have. Decisions were hard– so many fabulous choices. Thank heavens Clint arrives with an amuse bouche of confit duck and quinoa and an incredible bread basket(I’m such a sucker for fresh great bread). Our dinner choices did not disappoint. The salads had wonderful fresh ingredients– peaches, mixed greens, cucumbers and tomatoes. The hubby’s steak was juicy, cooked to perfection, and had great flavor. He paired it with the crab and lobster cakes, they were so moist and not full of bread filler. So much food he took a cake home. I love table side service so I tried the lobster thermadore. I was really surprised to see Chef Sanchez arrive at our table to prepare it himself. What a treat to watch him work and a chance to chat with him. Creamy rich deliciousness– I took nothing home. As we winded down our experience we looked at each other and knew dessert wasn’t an option. And just then Clint appears with this decadent gelato dessert with«Happy Anniversary«written on the plate. How sweet, thank heavens we shared it. Fabulous end to the evening. So nice for Ali to check on us throughout the meal. I really do love the décor of this restaurant. In the Atlantis it has that under the water theme that is very elegant and elevated. First class all the way.

We had a very nice anniversary dinner at the Atlantis Steakhouse. We made a rsvp to make sure we got a booth. Our server name is Clint. After we sat he explained to us about menu of the day. While we take a look at the menu, then came our drinks and Clint gave us the Amuse Bouche Duck with quinoa. It was pretty good. They gave us as a complimentary. Next came a bread basket which were good too. My husband loved the bread because he is a bread maniac. For the appetizer we ordered the Maine lobster & blue crab cakes. It was pretty yummy, fried perfectly cooked, not greasy at all, the crab texture mixed with lobster was perfect. My husband even said that was the best crab cakes he’s ever had. Then I chose the soup of the day which was beef and barley soup. I love the soup. The broth was pretty rich flavor, beef cooked very nice and tender. The barley was nice texture and very soft. My husband chose their house salad. He said it was delightful & best house salad ever had. Came with very fresh veggies such as the red & yellow cherry tomatoes, hearts of palm thinly sliced, sliced peaches and with the dressing was sherry vinegerate. Mixed greens no iceberg lettuce. I ordered the Steak Diane. Yes after my experience from Unilocal event last time, I had to have this Steak Diane again! And chef Sanchez made it tableside and even we talked about the Unilocal event & he said that night was pretty fun. The filet medallions were cooked perfect, tender and still juicy. And of course the sauce Demi glacé and organic mushroom were so… delightful. The mashed potatoes was nyamm & the asparagus were good too. We ordered the creamed corn with a kick because I love it. And it was very very good. Sweet, creamy flavor blend together and perfect. My husband ordered Trio of Filet. It was bleu cheese crust, Oscar style, wild mushroom demi glacé with garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed asparagus. He said it was nice to have 3 filets cooked with three different sauces. The meat was cooked perfectly of course, melt in your mouth. Very delicious. The coffee was so good. Came with a condiment tray of its own like sugar stick, cinnamon stick, cream, whipped cream etc. Last but not least, we already stuffed and there was another complimentary. We got our anniversary complimentary. It was gelato and on the bottom was a cake. I like it because it was berry and chocolate. It was very fresh & the berries were fresh too and the nice touch of happy anniversary written in chocolate on the plate, was beautiful. The ambience was nice, lovely and pretty. Service was outstanding, always check on us, filled our empty glasses. Thank you Clint for did a great job and made our anniversary dinner nice.

For those who think this is as good as it gets, you have led a sheltered life. My meal was good, but no where close to the quality for the price. I had the filet trio. The filets were very small. I ordered them medium rare, but they were well past medium. In all fairness, it is almost impossible to cook a very small steak rare or medium rare. They should just remove this item from the menu. The flavor was fine. The trio is prepared three different ways, one of which is Oscar. Unfortunately, it was impossible to tell where the crab was because it was served on top of garlic mashed potatoes. I had finished the tiny filets when I finally found the crab. I liked the blue cheese preparation the best(which really isn’t saying much since the blue cheese hides the favor of the steak. Service was passable, but again, not the quality for the price. I have eaten in a lot of five star restaurants and I don’t count this as one. Unless you’ve been lucky at the tables and have money to blow, I’d opt for one of the other restaurant choices.
