We went to Claim Jumpers for lunch after the movies. I ordered a chicken wrap. It was accompanied by a plate of fries. The wrap was full of chicken and shredded vegetables. The wrap was a bit dry so I asked for a side of ranch, that seemed to help. Other than being a bit dry, it was very good. The wrap was a meal in itself, I took half home. Definitely will be back.

Claim jumper has survived while many businesses and restaurants around them have closed. I have been to claim jumper a couple p le times, both here and other cities. Claim Jumper is owned by Landry’s, which owns Chart House, Morton’s Steak House, Bubba Gumps and Rain Forest Café to name a few. If you sign up and get a Landry card, it will cost you 25 dollars which you receive back on your next visit as a credit. You also receive 25dollars off your meal for your birthday during the month of your birthday. Last but not least, if there is a wait at any Landry restaurant, present your card and the next available table is yours. We went on a Sunday afternoon, it was not crowded at all. We started with Southwest spring rolls. They had a bit of a bite to them, but dipped in ranch they were delicious. I then ordered the baby back ribs, half rack. At this point it all came screaming back to me. They always serve large portions. We could of easily done without the appetizer, The ribs were so tender and delicious. The bones literally fell off. The side I got was a baked potato. We will definitely be visiting the Chart House for my birthday and I would come back here in a heartbeat. Just do not eat anything before your meal.

Will never dine at any Claim Jumpers ever again. They are a completely incompetent and unethical chain! They are incapable of righting their wrongs and don’t value customers. We stopped for lunch and what started out as a decent experience eventually turned into our server disappearing, us having to track her down to get the bill. Upon returning home we realized that they charged our card twice, for 2 different amounts, 1 of which was not authorized and thetefore is essentially theft. When we contacted them about it they claim our bill actually came to more than what the bill we signed stated and thetefore they took it upon themselves to go ahead and charge us not only the higher amount but ALSO the amount we signed on our bill. It’s now taken a week of going round and round with them and our bank and still no resolution. Finally fed up with the whole ordeal we feel they should refund all of it yet the general manager says no because we didn’t complain at the time… well how in the world would we know at that time you were going to charge us the amount of the bill we signed($ 119.00) and then also charge us a much larger amount($ 169.00) that they were never authorized to charge. Thiefs!!!

Wife and I first hit this place in 2009 and have been faithful customers since. Great variety of foods, nice ambience and we love the staff. We are treated great in there and when our east coast friends and relatives visit, CJ is top on the list. Sure there are better restaurants but we are treated so good here that it ups the ante. Good selection of alcohol and great deserts. Can’t go wrong. They accommodate good size groups. Since I’m a foodie, all food tastes great.

This place sucks, i went there with my wife and son on my birthday. We all got sick and i still paid for our food. My wife was throwing up at the table. So i called Claim Jumpers to make a complaint, and the management never called me back. This was April 27, 2016. i paid $ 78.00 to get sick. It’s not worth your money In and out is better..

Never a disappointment when dining at Claim Jumper because the menu is so expansive there is sure to be something on it for everyone! Our server Leann was very attentive and friendly, server attitude and responsiveness is always a factor in one of the star ratings in my reviews. Great job Leann! I had the 7oz. top sirloin(cooked medium) and the green beans. The steak was tender and very flavorful. I oped out of the steak toppings offered and with a bit of A-1, well I’ll just say this — delicious! The green beans too were sautéed and also very flavorful, a great side if you are looking to avoid carbs and sugar. I stared with the upgrade to a wedge salad and it was very good, but one thing I will say I just don’t get the house mixture of blue cheese dressing drizzled with balsamic(I wish Leann would have told me that before I ordered it because I would have opted out of the balsamic drizzle) which had a unusual affect on the taste of the salad. Cathy had the rotisserie chicken and enjoyed it very much. Ron had the BBQ chicken sandwich and just commented that the melon in his side of fresh fruit was under ripe other wise he was very satisfied with the sandwich itself — in fact it was so big, he could only eat half before he got full. I have had may meals at Claim Jumper and because the portions are so large, I have yet to be able to make it to lesser without being totally full and satisified. I am a member of Landry’s Loyalty Club and was due a $ 25 reward, so that coming off the check was a added bonus — woo hoo! Claim Jumper is not your average chain restaurant; definitely several notches up above the rest.

Worst service ever! The place was EMPTY. We were seated in a back corner. We did take time to order-I own that. I also own that I order very specifically. Gluten free, everything on the side. I get that takes more time. But it took 45 minutes to get our food after we ordered. No communication as to why… until we were ready to leave. Suddenly the manager had our food. My husband’s was cold. My son’s burger was hard. My salmon was so overlooked it was difficult to eat. The manager admitted the kitchen messed up the salmon and was redoing it. I don’t know about that because when it came it wasn’t hot. They took 15% off the bill, but I wish the food had just been done quickly and correctly. It just wasn’t worth it. There are other restaurants with better food, great service, and better prices.

I’ve been coming to these restaurant’s for a long time I like the food it’s not the best but it’s a lot better than I HOPE. They where friendly and I like how the restaurant looks, also the price is not that bad two people will spend like $ 100. I ordered the peppered tri-tip which is very tender and delicious moist. Also the clam chowder was nice and Hardy. And of course the warm bread to your table is exceptional, melted cheese on top with a buttery crust. If you’re there for a party I recommend getting the ginormous chocolate cake or the pineapple carrot cake which are huge with over 5 pounds of chocolate icing on top.

First time here had bad service possibly a server in training? Tried again tonight and terrible service. We had to ask where our waiter was. He said he didn’t realize it was his table. Took forever to get drinks. When drinks came my hubby’s lemonade was missing. He finally brought bread without butter. When I asked for butter he responded like i was asking for something strange. My salad was drenched in dressing. He asked if I wanted pepper I said no thank you and he put it on anyways. Came back 10 min later with new salad. We ordered regular fries with burger and received shoe string. My daughter said her Alfredo pasta tasted bad and was not warm. We didn’t complain about food because at this time we’d been there so long we wanted to leave. Let me point out it was 5:30pm on a Tuesday and was not busy. Sorry claim jumper we are jumping ship!

Oh sad day… We went out on a limb to try a new spot and were completely underwhelmed. The service was very slow, food messed up, waited forever again and to top it off with a crazy bill. The items on the gluten free menu are not all gluten free. How does that even make sense?!. We will not be coming back and I suggest not to waste your $ and time. For a $ 75 dinner my kids(8 and 5) walked out hungry and they were even disappointed!

We absolutely LOVE this place! We got $ 25 back when joining their club and then got another $ 25 with my birthday! The food taste amazing. The service is always prompt and cheerful. The portions are large and I can never finish my food. the free cheese bread could be a meal all by itself! We had a slice of the chocolate cake with the nuts on the outside and it took our family 3 days to finish it. The slice was twice the size of my head!(family of 5) The soups are creamy and filling. The kids mac n cheese is so good that I had it as my meal on one of our trips. Clean friendly environment. Great service. and AMAZING filling food along with the $ 50 so far in discounts have made this one of our favorites! Next time we go, I will have to ask if they have a military discount. I am not sure if they do or not. Military discount would shoot this place up to my top 3 places I have eaten while stationed in Nevada!

My previous review was sorely outdated, and after a recent visit to Claim Jumper, I knew it was time to blow the dust off this one. Even though most things are the same as they were when I wrote my first review eight years ago, there have been, over the years, many little changes that have affected the overall quality of this chain. Nothing major, but a lot of little things over time add up to a big deal. Last week I had a craving for my favorite thing on the menu – The Widowmaker burger – and I was really disappointed with it. The burger was overcooked, the sauce was different – sweeter – and in the end I was left feeling that I had wasted my money. I have a feeling that Claim Jumper may be on a downward shift, which is too bad, since I still think they have one of the nicest buildings and best locations in Reno.

So usually Claim Jumpers are your pretty standard dining experience. Since they’re a larger chain you usually have the same experience every time you go. I actually love the food and rarely ever am disappointed in my meal. In this review however I want to specifically shine a light on the excellent service we had. My brother and sister-in-law took me out for a belated birthday dinner. My sister-in-law was having a horrible day and showed up a little bit flustered and emotional because of it. Our server, Missy, went above and beyond to make sure she had the best dining experience to end her night on somewhat of a good note. She was just incredibly nice to her and made her feel good about herself, which really is not in a server’s required job description. She also brought me my birthday cupcake and sang to make it special. I work as a server across town and when I find out I have a birthday or have disgruntled/emotional guests it’s sometimes really hard to maintain enthusiasm since the job can be somewhat tedious. It takes a special kind of personality and character to be such a jovial and considerate server. Missy honestly went above and beyond serving us and it needed to be acknowledged!

Claim Jumper is one of those large chain fronts that can be really yummy sometimes but most of the time it is… meh …at best. I have been coming here once in a great while over the many years it has been open in Reno. Sometimes I actually think to myself«Wow that was really yummy!» but most of the time I walk away and think«hmmm I should have gone somewhere else.» It isn’t horrible by any means. It is just along the lines of BJ’s Brewery, Chillis, Red Robin and those types of chains. Claim Jumper is a great spot if you have a big party and need to find an eatery that will allow everyone to find something they can eat but other than that, I would more than likely choose another spot. The food was good. Nothing to write home about but the service was fantastic. I think her name was Missy. She actually waited on me when I was here two years ago and I remember really enjoying her service. She is friendly and knows the menu inside and out.

Happy hour was terrible. Over priced for the quality of food we received. Warm dry potato skins, a soggy pizza but the mozzarella sticks were ok. Higher priced for a happy hour menu also.

Arrived a little early for lunch and had my choice so I am sitting by the fire in the bar area. The server was attentive. Brought my water followed later with a glass of wine. After much deliberating I choose the citrus chicken salad. I was able to order it without cheese with no problem. I’ll be taking home a slice of the mother lode chocolate cake. It is a wonderful way to get a chocolate fix. It’s a huge serving. Perfect for sharing.

I received a gift card to Claim Jumper for Christmas and decided to head over on a Sunday evening. What was awesome was their all day happy hour at the bar area with a pretty extensive menu to choose from. The service was absolutely fantastic and the food came out fast and delicious. Cheers to the cooks and wait staff! The appetizer sampler had potato cakes, potato skins, wings, mozzarella sticks, Chinese chicken salad, and delicious dipping sauces. I would pass on the fish tacos, I have had better ones through del taco drive thru. Then had the Widow Burger which is everything I would want in a burger and more! It’s basically a delicious grilled patty with fried onion rings, bacon, and avocado on a toasted potato bun. Great place for happy hour! Plenty of seating. Friendly service. No complaints — save room for dessert, they definitely have decadent cakes and pies. I wish I could get a jar of their caramel sauce to-go. That alone on some vanilla ice cream, deeeelicious!

We had our department’s quarterly lunch here today. We placed our order for nine people 6 of whom wanted the chicken pot pie. We were told at 11 that it takes 45-minutes for the pies, so we arrived about 11:30 expecting a little wait. About 11:50 the pies, and the other orders) arrived at the table. The plates, bowls, and pies were nice and hot, the crust was golden brown with a nice flaky yet crunchy crust. The filling was filled with fresh ingredients, juicy chicken and plenty of sauce. There is a lot of food packed into that dish! If you enjoy a good chicken pot pie, you should give CJ’s a try. They are great on a cold day!

I had the food here once as a pick-up order. We had a couple of specific requests such as feta on one salad and blue cheese on the other. Salsa on the side for the fish tacos. They got all the details right! The food itself was pretty good! The California Citrus Chicken Salad was delicious and NOT drowned in dressing. Love it! The garlic bread was tasty and comes in a big roundish piece. The least impressive though was the fish tacos. While I was happy to see(white) fish tacos on corn tortillas rather than flour, the tacos themselves were a bit dry and bland. Could have used a zip of something… fresh lime juice? Crema or sorts? Either way, next time I’m in Reno, I’d love to come back and try some more things from the menu!

We haven’t been here for years. Now I know why. But isn’t all that. I had the chicken pot pie and it was very large. I couldn’t finish it. My kids wings were dry. The tri tip was a little over done. All in all it wasn’t that good. Years ago it was very good. We had a six layer cake and split it. It was a little dry too. Hmm I don’t know my kids told me to make the review 3 stars. For 75.00 I expected a little more.
