We really enjoyed the food. Would have enjoyed it more if we had come in earlier. Coming in a bit too close to closing time prevented us from choosing some options. Would give 4 stars if we got those dishes ;) Food wasn’t as hot(warm) as we would like, again, attributing this to our late arrival. Hubby got dumplings and this hot pot coconut curry dish & I got Singapore street noodles which were lacking in veggies so we put the curry veggies on top and combined it was GREAT! :) Nice ambience, friendly and courteous staff.

I have been there twice! I was so impressed about this restaurant on my first visit. However, I have decided to stop visiting this place forever. I was so disappointed about the food and service quality on my second visit. I ordered Pad-Thai, Thai tea, Asam Laksa and tofu cheesecake. Tofu cheese cake and Thai tea were delicious. However, Pad-Thai and Asam Laksa taste horrible. Pad-Thai was so sweet that I thought it was a dessert and Asam Laksa was so blank in taste. The most terrible thing was the service. One lady table served me and I tipped her around 13++% on my total bill because if I were about to pay 15% it’ll come up to $ 7 which I think it’s too much for just walking to my table four times and put the foods. She collected the bill before I left and was looking at the bill. Certainly, she spoke in Chinese, «too less and then laughs». I was like what? Tip isn’t compulsory! Moreover, there isn’t a law stated that customers have to tip 15% every time they check into restaurant. It’s about complimentary. There were times I tipped more than 15% too!

We’ve eaten here a few times. Delicious food and great service. Plus it’s kosher! I just wish we lived closer because I would definitely eat here more often.

Love the stroganoff, spicy eggplant, Singapore rice noodles. Fresh and made to order. We are allergic to eggs, nuts and dairy and have never had a problem dining here. I am allergic to soy and can still dine here. Thank you, Teapot!

Bad food, bad service and expensive to boot! I am a longtime vegetarian and I still would not recommend this place. My wide noodle dish consisted of — wide noodles and a tasteless sauce. My friend had the«jewel box» which was equally tasteless and the Mongolian tofu which was amazingly bland and on a bed of styrofoam like noodles. You are much better going to ANY Thai restaurant and ordering a tofu dish. It would be much less expensive and most likely actually taste good. The service was equally as bad as the food — the staff seem to dislike the customers. To top it off as we were leaving the male waiter told someone who was parking in front to go to the sandwich shop next door that he needed to leave because that parking spot belonged to his restaurant. Huh? There was no sign near that spot and there were tons of parking spots. Bad all around.

Due to work suggested lunches I was once again subjected to this place I will keep it short because I dont want to dwell on this place any longer than the time I already wasted eating here. I am not a vegetarian but I love every single vegetable I have ever tried and do absolutely love tofu, tempeh and other soy products. Seriously this place is doing everything wrong. The service is slow, the food is bland, the prices are just way over, the servers are condescending, the pretend meat plates are just a crime against humanity and insulting to vegetarian/vegan cuisine. May the event be erased from my memory.

Food was sub par. I personally will not come back. My girlfriend was so thrown off by her dish she could barely eat it. I got the singapore roadside noodle dish and the noodles were bland, and the dark sauce was hard to pallet. Service was good but the waitress asked us about four times if the food was okay, showing me she probably knew it wasn’t and that they don’t have full faith in their cooking. We also ordered potstickers, they were ok, nothing special. I feel like they are trying toncapitalize on vegetarians and do not actually care for the quality of their food.

What, you have to wait almost an hour to get lunch on a weekday? This is unacceptable and the food tasted just so so. I don’t think I’ll come again.

My favorites here are the laksa and tom yum soup – super flavorful! We also enjoyed the satay appetizer and the spring rolls. I agree with other posters that the pad thai could use major improvement.

I was very very excited to try out this restaurant. A vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Eastside?! Heck yes, I was definitely going to try it! I had it bookmarked for months. I finally got around to making a trip out on NYE. The big ‘VEGAN’ sign they had in their window made me even more excited. I was prepared for a grand old feast. Then the food happened. Satay appetizer: very bland. Wouldn’t order it again. Like, I get it, satay in general isn’t particularly flavorful, but still… Ate it with a bunch of chili and it was ok.(PS they don’t have the usual garlic chili sauce, and their other chili sauces weren’t too great either.) It came with a very cool little mini stone grill that you could«heat» up the satay skewers on. The skewers are completely cooked and heated up, so the grill isn’t necessary, but such a cool touch. Made for a fun experience, so I was still looking forward to my entrees. We ordered the Singapore Style Rice Noodles and the Green Curry. We requested that both dishes be made as spicy as possible, and we were told that they couldn’t increase the spice level in the dishes but we could use the table chili sauces. Problem was, neither dishes had ANY spice to them and the table chili sauces weren’t tasty. That was a bit of a let down. The Singapore Style Rice Noodles: honestly tasted and looked like a blander vermicelli version of Maggi noodles. Would not order it again. Green curry: very thin, not creamy, and tasted nothing like any green curry I’ve had before(it tasted more like Indian lentil sambhar). Also very bland. Would not order it again. Tofu cheesecake: preferred the blueberry to the chocolate. Neither were particularly sweet or tasted very dessert-y. Again, a bit bland. Would not order either of them again.(If you want tofu cheesecake, Daiya makes fantastic ones that can be found in the freezer section of most grocery stores. Please try.) Gula Malacca: YUM. This is the only reason I would come back to Teapot. Very very delicious. Very unique. It’s vegan, yay! Soy whipped cream, coconut sorbet, tapioca pearls, and the most delicious chocolate icing I have ever had. Ever. Like, so good, I would order a side of extra icing to eat with the dessert. This is a must-try! If you’re ever in the mood for dessert, go to Teapot and get the Gula Malacca. :)

My family loves this place! We usually get the gold fingers for the kids and they love those. I love the Laksa(spelling?) and pad Thai, but really have never been disappointed with any of the dishes. Love that it’s a family run place and the people who run it are so friendly. The food and the service are always consistently good and we are never disappointed. We love having a vegan restaurant on the east side! I can’t recommend this place highly enough! Yum!

I had the displeasure of eating a pot of hot snot here for lunch. Ok, ok, I ordered the vegetable green curry with brown rice. First of all the dish was unbelievably hot. I had to wait a while to start eating because it was super hot. Even after waiting a while I had to eat a tiny bit at a time because the dish was still pretty much scolding hot. I’m a quick eater but this time my whole party was done eating and I was still trying to eat my food for at least another 15 min after everyone was done. I guess it’s one way to have quick lunch with coworkers. More importantly, the dish had no flavor, no curry flavor to talk about here whatsoever. It was also marked as spicy on the menu but I haven’t tasted a tiny bit of spice. I don’t know if I’ve ever eaten anything so tasteless. The only flavor I can recall is scolding hot. No wonder I burned my tongue even after waiting and being very careful but I did need to finish my food in a reasonable work lunch time so I had to eat some of it. The texture is another downside of this dish. It’s not creamy the way curries are. It had the consistency of scolding hot snot. I’m not kidding you. It’s grayish green and unpleasantly watery+gooey if I had to describe it. I fished some cabbage and some tofu out of the dish and that was it for me. The rest was beyond me. Did I forget to mention it was $ 10.95 or something ridiculous like that? The server did not check in with us after delivering the food to see it food tasted good. Seemed unhappy when we said we needed to pay with several credit cards. There you have it. Go at your own risk. The green curry which as advertised on the menu as one of the favorites was pretty much the worst thing I’ve had in years. I had better food in a state-run soviet kindergarten when I was a kid. And this place calls itself a business.

So disappointed. The service is great. Very friendly and patient. Menu looks amazing! But the food just did not deliver. We ordered the curry vegetable claypot, the pad thai, and the stir fried wide noodles. I’ve had all of these dishes before and I’ve had vegetarian and vegan versions of these dishes before. Both noodle dishes were awful. Quite literally the worst version of pad thai I’ve ever had the(dis)pleasure of eating and the wide noodles were not far behind. The pad thai literally tasted like they had upended a bottle of ketchup over the noodles. For a vegetarian place, the lack of vegetables in these dishes was so disappointing. The claypot curry dish was much better in comparison. Lots of vegetables and tofu. Decent curry flavor, but it was barely spicy and my husband thought it too bland. It is also definitely overpriced for the quality and portion level received. There are plenty of better Asian vegetarian restaurants in the area. I doubt we will be coming back.

this is the first time we’ve ever had a bad meal here. all four items we ordered were not good or tasty. the steamed dumplings were flavorless — the dough was too thick and the contents looked like a frozen pea & carrot concoction — tasteless. the Vietnamese rolls were so bland, the only saving grace was the peanut sauce which was cloyingly sweet. expected to have basil or some other flavorful herb included in the roll to enhance the taste. the phad thai was basically noodles with ketchup flavored red sauce — sweet and not at all like any phad thai we’ve ever had. and, the mushrooms in sauce which was touted as very special was dreadful — chunks of mushrooms in a brown gravy over some spinach that was half raw & half steamed. a very disappointing meal for the first time in years. not sure we’ll return. ;-(

I tend to grab lunch here each time I visit Microsoft for meetings. The food here is good and they have some good faux meat/fish dishes. I had the«Bounty of the Sea» and it was quite good. At some point, I got a small spot on my shirt thanks to some clumsiness on my side, and the owner immediately came and gave me a towel with some solution which got rid of the spot right away. An extra point just for this level of attention.

My partner and I absolutely adore this place. Good for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike. It’s a pretty casual place, but it’s usually relatively quiet and they’re always playing pleasant music: usually some type of soft jazz. The whole menu is vegan, which kind of blows my mind. It’s actually hard to choose an entrée because I’m not used to having so many options when I eat out!(They’re happy to recommend a dish if you’re stuck) After getting to know the staff, they started joking with us and recommending new things to try; we’re regulars and they definitely remember us. :) My favourite dish is the Pad Thai Tofu– it’s more tomato-based and sweet than most pad Thai but boy, is it DELICIOUS! They have a vast selection of teas to choose from to compliment their dishes. Their Thai Iced Tea is a bit sweet for my taste, but I mostly go here for the appetizers and entrees anyways. Even my meat-loving dad was happy here! He really liked the wheat gluten Satay with peanut sauce. I recommend sharing a dessert if you choose to get one-they can be a bit too generous and sweet for one person. Their imitation meats can be a bit hit and miss, but I find that’s true with imitation meat in general. They have some really unique menu items that are perfect for a casual celebration. Overall this is our favourite restaurant on the Eastside! Definitely check it out if you’re in the area and want to try some vegan cuisine!

Let’s put this way I have never tipped less than 20% and was happy to give them nothing! These people were rude and service was down right horrible. Never asked if we wanted something to drink, the dumplings were still frozen and my noodles were discusting! They were soggy, slimmy noodles that were covered in what taste like generic off brand cold canned tomato soup with peanuts sprinkled on top. Never did they ask if everything was ok, when brought to the waitress attention that the noodles were not good she said nothing and handed me my bill. No appology, no concern just wanted us to pay for our meal. Never again.

We love the food and polite service here. We ordered five dishes to try a variety and all were excellent with plenty left to take home. The Crispy Mandarin Tofu and Mongolian Vegetarian dishes were amazing and so was the Rama Garden; good value for the price. The restaurant also proffers a good selection of black, green, herbal and Oolong teas, served in traditional cast-iron pots. The restaurant is geared towards a lunch crowd, best to go for dinner, as it is less crowded and quieter. PS, heated the leftovers the next day and they tasted wonderful!

I really want to like this place. I really do… I’m a fan of Chinese vegetarian food as my family back in Malaysia eats it frequently. I understand that vegetarian is usually a bit more pricey considering the flavor has to be right in replacement for the usual meat flavor. But it is really overprice for the portion and quality. We ordered the Mandarin Tofu($ 10) and Bounty of Sea($ 13 — vegetarian fish). Dissapointed that they don’t have lunch meals so you will have to order rice separately, and no tea. I was really excited when the order came, it was pretty fast considering there’s no one there except us… I see the tofu come and look pretty big, and the fish looks good. When I took a bite, TOTAL disappointment. The batter on both dishes were so thick I ended just separating the batter and ate. The thick batter also means that the tofu in the dish is very small(probably less than half of a brick tofu). Fish was meh… I’ve eaten better ones. Overall, considering this should be their forte this is really quite mediocre. On the plus side, Mandarin Tofu flavor was good. and customer service was good and friendly too. Pretty easy to find and park(just beside Malay Satay Hut and Tapioca Express) But probably won’t be coming back for overpriced and meh flavored food.

Amazing and authentic Asian vegetarian. Ask for the satay to be well done if you do order it(and if you prefer things well cooked like me). Loved the hot pot vegetarian curry /laksa and the mandarin fried tofu was sinful but super tasty! Didn’t particularly like the green tea they served us but I’m a snob when it comes to green tea. Overall, a great place! Will definitely visit again.

I have a love hate relationship with this place. I love their delicious food. I hate their unbelievably rude service. I called in and asked if they had 6 servings of their famous tofu cheesecake to go. Yes. I get there 30 mins later, they haven’t sold out… They just won’t sell to me because not a sit down customer. Seriously? Wtf? They decide they will only sell 4 pieces to me. If this wasn’t for a birthday surprise I’d have not given them any money at all.

I first came to Teapot many, many years ago and loved it. I was in the area yesterday and Teapot was the first place that came to mind. Unfortunately my feelings of nostalgia were quickly dashed. Service was incredibly slow and impersonal — it was nothing like it was the first time I went. As another reviewer pointed out, they don’t include tea like most Chinese restaurants do. A restaurant called Teapot and they don’t include tea? Extra disappointing! For an appy we went with wontons which were hit or miss. All of them looked great; beautiful presentation, perfectly fried, but several of them had very dry, chewy centers; like they had been a victim of freezer burn. The sweet & sour sauce was good though. As my main dish I ordered the«smoked salmon.» I’ve been to other veggie places where their«salmon» is pretty close to the real thing… this was not. It was really just nori and tofu wrapped in some sort of rice or phyllo and fried. The sauce was unevenly mixed and I found salty pockets here and there — the worst kind of surprise! Most places keep an eye on your water glass and top it off as needed. At Teapot my empty glass remained for quite some time, even after placing it on the edge of the table. When they finally did refill it I received half a glass and it appeared that they had run out of ice… or maybe you’re only allotted one glass of water with ice? Because, you know, ice is super expensive and all. Once I had sufficiently stuffed my face, I asked for a takeout box. I honestly wasn’t sure the waiter(who might be the owner?) had heard me as he kind of looked at me, but didn’t actually acknowledge my request. He apparently did hear me. It took him about 10 min, and I saw him pass me 4 or 5 times, but I eventually received the box that I asked for. All and all my feelings of nostalgia for Teapot are gone and I don’t see myself coming back. Vegetarian restaurants are dime-a-dozen these days — it’s easy to find better.

Kinda empty sadly but that’s good for me because there’s no line!!! I ordered Togo this time and they said«10 min!!!» So fast! Anyways I ordered the mandarin tofu with green tea rice and choice of hot and sour soup or corn soup and of course I went for the corn because it’s absolutely delicious. Oh and it also came with an egg roll, all for a whooping $ 9 for lunch!!! The lady there is always so sweet and gives me suggested dishes since I had no idea what certain dishes were. Mandarin tofu was AMAZE-BALLS. Let me describe it. It was soft tofu battered and deep fried to a perfect crunchy roll dipped in mandarin sauce and on the bottom was a brown sauce which went EXCELLENT together. The green tea rice was also amazing Cept this time the rice was kinda dry but still amazing! Egg roll? BOMBDIGGITY. It came with the red sweet sauce for you to dip in. Corn soup was great!!! All for $ 9. And they hook you up with food. They pack that in real good for you and give you extra supplies of napkins, fork, chopsticks(you must ask for chopsticks) etc. I don’t usually give five stars but both times I’ve been here the service and food were excellent! And good price!!! And to top it off, it’s vegetarian! I’m a total veghead. Those who are Peskatarian like me, they do have fish choices ;) Happy eating!

When I went here with my family I got very, very poor service. We waited around ten minutes for menus, and didn’t receive any so we had to ask the waiter. The waiter apologized and offered us all free soup. Awesome! We got our food relatively quickly and it was good. I got a vegetarian chow mein, and there were various other options, all of which are vegetarian and/or vegan and/or kosher. I admire the mission, but terrible execution doesn’t do their goals justice. Unfortunately there was lipstick residue on one of our cups. Strange and unfortunate. More problematically, we never got the free desserts we were promised. This was a frustrating experience. I don’t plan to return here.
