I’m giving this a 1 only because I can’t do a 0. There was a cockroach cooked with my food. It was disgusting. The waitress was apologetic but that was it. Nothing from the owners to speak to their care over food handling. I will never ever eat here again. If they couldn’t wash the ingredients before they cooked them to at least pretend they were more vigilent, then I’d hate to think of what else is cooked in with the food.

We throughly enjoyed our dinner. The service was very good. We agree with another review that the Tom Kha has an excellent flavor. In all the dishes, the ingredients were very fresh and delicious. Oh and give the brown rice a try!

Pinto Thai is great. I got the Panang Curry and it had a delicious flavor and a nice spice even at level 2! I wouldn’t go much spicier than that! The atmosphere is pleasant and laid back. The service is so fast! Also the Thai Iced Tea was very good. I’d come back anytime and recommend it to anyone!

My family and I wanted some Thai food today, and we went to our normal spot… only to find that it has changed. We figured it was worth a shot to try out the place that took over the location. Portions: The portions were smaller than Thai Time, but I wasn’t too concerned about that as long as the food was good. We always have left overs, so having a little less is not really a concern to us. Quality: They use different noodles than what Thai Time used. Instead of using the flat noodles that many Thai Restraunts use, they use the semi-clear very thin noodles. They don’t have much flavor at all, and they were very underwhelming. Taste: Overall the meal had very little flavor. The Chicken Pad Thai was very disappointing. The chicken did not have much flavor, and the noodles were very bland. The sauce was used very sparingly and the overall meal just lacked any real flavor, which is not what I expect for Thai food. Even our Thai Iced Tea’s were lacking and disappointing. Cost: For how much a meal costs, and the quality provided, it is definitely too much. For 2 Pad Thai Chicken orders and potstickers, it was over $ 35. Overall: My wife and I were very disappointed with everything. It seems as though the new owners have taken the cheap route to all of the ingredients. We will not be going back. It’s a shame that Thai Time closed, Ramona does not have too many unique eating options, and Thai Time was one of the best. Pinto Thai Bistro does not do justice to Thai food and for how much a meal is there, there are many better options in Ramona.

After they remodeled this place looks brighter. The food is amazing they also have lunch special on the menu same as Thai Time. It’s really good. The taste has more flavor.

The Ramona hit restaurant for the past few years, «Thai Time», has morphed into«Pinto Thai Bistro» as of 1 January 2016. While the ownership, décor and menus have all significantly changed, fret not. The wonderful, fresh and delicious cuisine has not been lost. Instead, most of the really popular dishes remain and to my utter surprise, previous must-haves were actually improved. The great Tom Kha soup has been enhanced with the addition of enoki mushrooms and the broth is now much thicker and creamier that is so much richer and satisfying than before. Bravo! The new interior is much roomier and the remodel of the booth area with new, lower back seating no longer blocks the view in and out of the restaurant, making the the whole dining room brighter and more inviting than before. The same cheerful and attentive staff remain, so if you were a regular at Thai Time, you’ll be instantly recognized and if you’re a first time visitor, you’ll quickly feel at home. Must-try’s that I confirmed are still great(or greater) are the Tom Kha soup, the Satays, Fresh Spring Rolls and Larb. I am really looking forward to working through the menu to see what else has been elevated with the new launch of Pinto.
