Have they changed owners? A lot of new people working there and help wanted signs on the front door. That does not bother me as much as the last meal there where the food quality dropped off big time. The slices of salmon and tuna were thinner than usual, the miso tasted like dishwater and I’ve had better rolls at the supermarket. It’s too bad because they have always been very good. Maybe it was just a one off night. I’ll go back again and try it once more but if it’s more of the same, it will be our last visit.

You know how you don’t see something that’s right under your nose? That is the Sake House for me. It’s stuck in the middle of the Food LIon parking lot outside the Bedford ‘hood. I drive right by on my way to the Ace and Dollar General. Yet in 7 years I never ate there. Until Christmas Eve, when we were hungry and everything else was closed. The place was packed. There was a table with what looked to be 20 folks. Knew going in it would be slow to sit and slow to serve. Well I was wrong on both counts. Now the only thing I eat raw is Romaine lettuce so I can’t vouch for the sushi other than they had 4 guys making it and it looked like every table but ours was ordering it so it must be good, if that’s your thing. I can vouch for the cooked selections though. The Hibachi chicken is one of the best I’ve had. My son said the same about his shrimp dish. And the soup was very tasty. The rice was exactly how I like, soft but not wet, if you know what I mean, and seasoned just right. I think this will be a frequent destination from now on when in the mood for Asian cuisine.

My family enjoys coming to Sake House, but I must say a little expensive which is why we don’t come often.

We had the pleasure of a date night with our 2yo toddler and 6wk old on Friday night and decided it’s been waaaay too long with sushi! We opted to visit the Sake House and were not disappointed. For those of you, like us, who’ve not been in a while — they still offer BOGO sushi! And since our toddler is still uncertain about her sushi tastebuds, she ordered chicken fried rice. The rice was the best I’ve had in recent memory. Perfectly flavorful, not greasy and I think a hint of sesame oil? It was absolutely delicious and we all left extremely satisfied! This may be our go to family date spot.

I’m a big fan of Sake House. The sushi is delicious. They have some very creative rolls, and they are BOGO. I’ve also had the squid salad and the grilled squid. Both are very good.(I love squid.) I’ve eaten here a number of times. My friends love the hibachi.

Not what we’d call good sushi. And the price is too high for this area. We’ve paid less in LA for better taste. We ordered 5 rolls, but only got 4. That’s OK cause we really didn’t care for the food. The miso soup was mediocre! As we looked around we noticed other people waiting a long time for food as well. Sad, wish it was better.

This place just keeps getting better and better. I took out two sushi deluxe meals and they were fabulous Fresh, the right size pieces of fish, the right consistency of rice, the pieces were large and not squished into the wrong size box. Also the order was ready to be picked up at the correct time, so I didn’t have to wait. There are also the best mints when you are paying. Lastly I noticed they are now offering an all you can eat lunch/dinner option, similar to Orchid on Creedmoor Rd. It’s not a buffet, it’s an order all you can eat(but you must eat what you order or they charge you extra), but for a special occasion I can see trying it. Great job Sake House, you had gone downhill for a while, but now you are doing great!

This is probably my 5⁄6th time eating here. I came for lunch after we saw that they had a «all you can eat buffet» for $ 16.99. My friend and I were craving rolls, so we thought it was a great deal! However, after looking at the buffet, we read that you’d be charged if you left food. We realized our appetites were bigger than how much we could really eat, and decided to get the lunch special. We got the 3 roll special for $ 10.95 and a lunch shrimp udon, to split. We got the spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail rolls. But for some reason, they all look the same once we got our food. We weren’t able to tell the difference between the rolls, but the taste was your average rolls. The shrimp udon was just normal, nothing special. Also, our waitress was friendly, but kept forgetting our requests. We asked for lemon… But she forgot, so we had to remind her. Then my friend ordered a beer, but didn’t get it until 20 min later, and we had to remind her again! We asked for more ginger, and of course she forgot, so I had to remind her … I don’t understand because we were the only people there at the time… I think the food is pretty good if you are in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come eat here.

Pretty good sushi, but don’t hold your breath waiting for your to go order. I order about once a month or so for convenience when we don’t feel like going out. If they tell you 20 minutes — wait at least 30 before leaving to pick it up. Tonight, it’s been 45 minutes so far since I placed the order and they said 25.

The service was decent, no complaints there. The ambiance was nice, we loved how the place was decorated, but we did find it strange that at 6 on a Saturday night there were 3 tables in use. My husband and I have had sushi at many places and we love it, but our sushi rolls here were extremely unsatisfying. I can’t speak for anything else on the menu, but our two rolls(rainbow roll and eel with avocado) left a weird taste in our mouths and if I had not previously liked sushi, I would be turned away from it forever from this experience. We decided to branch out and got the sushi pizza… Do not follow our lead. The sushi pizza was tiny — not worth our $ 12 — and loaded with cilantro, which I love usually, but it made me gag. Needless to say we will not be dining with them again.

Great service, great atmosphere, great food! It’s a must go and try at least once! As soon as you walk in the door you see the high ceilings that have butterflies hanging down from above(crystals hanging down from everywhere too/very beautiful). Friendly, kind and fast service. The food is well flavored, and prepared.

First visit to the Sake House. Went at lunch time. The lunch specials were the right price for my budget. Ordered the two roll lunch, and both rolls were great. It was clean and the people were friendly. I would go back.

This place has great potential. It’s very clean inside. They tend to play Jack Johnson both times I have been. I have been twice at lunch, using their online system both times in hopes my food was ready for pick up and I wouldn’t have to be away from the office long. Both times I have had to wait probably as long as if I would just walk in and place a to go order. The habachi is okay, the first time it was nice and grilled, the second time it was fried and I was disappointed. The sushi is priced well and I heard that they offer boho offers. Next time I will try the sushi or a mani salad.

Sake House has improved and continues to do so every time I dine there. They upgrade the décor from time to time and improve upon their menu as well. The key thing to remember here is that it’s a Japanese joint in the middle of the suburbs. The dishes won’t be to risqué nor will the selection be that wide. That being said, the presentation is excellent, and sake is strong, and the severs are friendly. Additionally, this Falls River shopping complex is pretty the mold of many others in the North Raleigh area. There are small, locally-owned eateries and bars that have managed to stay open. The more we support locales like Sake House and the others in the area, the more local and organic the Raleigh scene becomes. Oh, and make sure to go on Thursday. You get two for one rolls, but make sure to order some sake or something so as to increase the revenue/tip for the servers.
