The buy one get one should be per person and not per ticket. They will charge using the highest priced sushi. Both the service and sushi need work as well. The atmosphere outside is extremely nice with the large courtyard.

We came in here on a whim on Memorial Day this year. Our waiter was really great, very good about checking on the table and filling up drinks without being in our way or being awkward. We ordered the dynamite shrimp appetizer. The sauce was good and the shrimp were really large. It came on a bed of fried rice noodles. They were pretty on par with most dynamite shrimp offerings but I have to give kudos since the shrimp was so fresh and it wasn’t deep fried.(They were still fried but not to the point where they become too much). We ordered some entrees, both of which were really good. We also ordered sushi, which is BOGO! The sushi rolls were pretty good and I really liked the Bam Bam roll. Overall, I enjoyed this little place and I would come back again if I wanted some sushi. It’s a good location, good service, and pretty good food.

My husband ate here around 1:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon. There were two other booths filled, that’s it. Everyone was friendly. Service was fast. They offer a BOGO Free which is great. Sushi was just OK. Didn’t taste as fresh as you want sushi to be. Probably won’t go back here again.

First of all, the hostess didn’t acknowledge we were standing there for at least 7 minutes. If I was not starving I would have left. She then told us it would take 10 – 15 minutes to be seated… but kid you not, there were only 3 tables with people seated. I ordered a soda and water, but the server never brought the water. The sushi took FOREVER, and the server never came by to check on us. THEN when the sushi came out, the eel sauce on top was dried out. It was obvious it had been sitting ready for a while, and the server just never went to get it. It was also awful that I had to sit with at least 6 unclean tables around the dining area. I will never return there, and I suggest you don’t visit.

Not impressed. Our Sushi took FOREVER, and the service was terrible. It took us two and a half hours from start to finish because of this. After waiting about 45 minutes for our sushi to come out, some of it was wrong and had to be remade. Our water glasses were constantly empty throughout our meal. At one point we had to ask the manager for water. She was more worried about getting tables bussed and re-sat that she didn’t even go get us water OR tell our server after we asked. Our server also forgot multiple times to bring things we asked for such as appetizer plates, sauces, drinks, etc. She never pre bussed anything off of our table, by the time we got our check, our salad bowls were still sitting in a pile on the table. This was the second chance I gave this place, and nothing has changed. We will not be back. Once again, will stick to Sushi O or Sushi Blues.

Busy, busy on Saturday night! Always have BOGO sushi. Drink specials tonight were martinis and cocktails $ 6. Ambiance is quite nice and the area is quaint with little local shops surrounding. We went to chocolate boutique after(see review). We waited at the bar for our table. Bartender took a good little minute to get our drinks to us, Lychee –Tini, Mai Tai, and Coco Loco. House liquor is fairly low grade. Worth it to order up in my opinion. Ordered dynamite shrimp for appetizer. Very delicious. Non-breaded fried shrimp in a rather tasty creamy hot sauce. Special rolls ordered: Himalayan, Snow Mountain, Volcano, Geisha. All perfectly delicious, ESPECIALLY for BOGO. I would have given Sushi One a 5 if the service would have been a wee bit better. More attentive servers would be the eel the sauce on the sushi!

Unfortunatley, I will NEVER come back to this place! My fiancé and I, along with another couple, came here for lunch. My friend is 6 months pregnant so she’s obviously staying clear of raw fish. She was careful to order only the rolls that didn’t have a * next to it, which apparently meant that the roll contains raw fish. When the dish came out, it clearly was uncooked fish. We told the waiter and switched her meal to a hot/cooked dish. My friend’s husband then asked to speak to the manager to let them know of the typo on their menu. When the part owner(apparently), Daisy, came to our table, she appeared with an instant attitude. We explained how the menu states a * by a roll indicates it contains raw fish; however, the roll my friend(who again is pregnant!) did not have this symbol. Daisy was extremely rude and said«well THISTIME I took it off your bill… and everything from the sushi bar is raw!» I could not believe the response we were given considering it was an issue with their menu. Not to mention we were now being talked to like fools — clearly my friend could get a deep fried roll(shrimp tempura, etc) or even a vegetarian roll and it would not contain raw fish! We never got an apology. Happy to know I’ll never have to see her face again because we will never step foot into this establishment again. And with so many other sushi restaurants(that actually have better food anyway) I guess they aren’t looking to last long with happy, regular customers.

Other than the struggle for parking around 7 pm on a Thursday, this was a great sushi experience. I had made same day reservations on open table, without trouble for a peak time. The place was semi busy when I arrived, and they were very understanding of part of the party being a little late with traffic and parking. Super sweet staff… The sushi chefs are up front and say hi/bye to everyone. The menu isn’t limited to just sushi. There is Thai and Japanese hibachi for those craving something different. One of the ladies in our group had the hibachi and there was a lot for the one order! Generous portion. My other friend and I had sashimi. I was really pleased with the quality and the presentation. For the price, it’s above and beyond a lot of the other places I’ve been to in the triangle. Specialty rolls looked pretty good too. They offer half off bottles of wine, as well! Great deal, hands down my new go to… Just a little bit of a drive from the city.

Consistently good sushi and Asian. Nice outdoor seating in French village atmosphere at Lafayette Village.

Not bad Sushi but I’ve had better. if you’re in the area and looking for average sushi, it’s the one. The service was okay, could be better, especially with not many people there. The Pad Thai was better than the sushi. BOGO is always a selling point and it sure worked. It’s located in a really nice shopping area.

I think the draw is Lafayette Village itself(very cute) and the BOGO special because I think their sushi is just ok.

Adore this adorable little restaurant. My boyfriend and I are frequent visitors for BOGO sushi but I did recently go with a large group of family and the service was absolutely incredible. The sushi was amazing. I always get seated quickly and I’m always greeted right away by my server. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Went here last night for the first time and will definitely be returning! My husband and I are pretty picky about our sushi places but decided to try something new instead of heading downtown to our regular haunt. Service was good, our waiter was new but competent and attentive enough for us. The gyoza appetizer was really good and came out quickly. We chose the Himalayan and Sweet Dragon rolls. Both were REALLY good, rivaling some of the best sushi I’ve had. The icing on the cake was the BOGO rolls, which we had no idea about until our bill arrived! Many places that offer BOGO sushi offer mainly simple rolls but the ones we had were delicious regardless of price. We would have come back here anyway but BOGO sushi makes it a definite!

Sushi Friends! This is a great resteraunt! My husband and I moved to the Raleigh area several months ago. We love food, especially sushi! I will try to do a 5 point review every time so they are comparable. 1. Atmosphere– excellent. The restaurant and bar areas are both great areas. Candle-lit booths and tables are a plus. It’s not tightly packed, and you can carry on conversations easily. 2. Service– excellent. The staff is very inviting and friendly. The food– depending on what you get, moves relatively fast. We have even been given a bonus item when we placed a large order– we find this more common in the Charlotte area than Raleigh. 3. Location– adorable. The little shopping Center it is located in will add comfort and excitement to your outing, there’s always something extra there. 4. Specials, — They have a discount going on every day, half off rolls! They also have drink specials on rotating days, so plan ahead if you want to take advantage of that. 5. Finally, the SUSHI! It’s great. There is not a roll we have tried and didn’t like. The sushi is well prepared, stays together, and the ingredients are complimentary. No soy sauce needed, the flavors will satisfy with every bite. So, why only 4 stars? I find that the rolls are just not creative. There’s nothing on the rolls menu that makes you inquisitive. They are pretty standard. There are not a lot of rolls that use unique fish or ingredients. Overall, awesome place to go eat sushi. The rolls are fabulous and the drink selection is as well. You will definitely not be disappointed. This is one of our top two sushi places near the Raleigh area!

Normally I love this place. I got a few times a month. I really like the sushi and the menu items are awesome. The service is very hit or miss. The establishment is clean, location is convenient and prices are reasonable. The sushi creations are unique. I’ve read the bad reviews and wondered why? Normally I would give Sushi One a 4 Last night I would say it was a 2. Last night I see why there are so many negative reviews. They must have a ton of turnover or something. Appetizers, soups, and main course all arrived at the same time. That was pretty frustrations. Our server was pretty condescending about it. My sushi fell apart. I will say this has never happened in the dozen or so times I have been there. Our server was pretty overwhelmed. She was pretty snappy and just didn’t look like she was having fun at all. Maybe a bad day? There was another girl who came around to fill our drinks etc who was really nice ! It was overwhelming that everything didn’t fit on the table. My daughter didn’t like her miso soup, it has a slimy appearance — server didn’t really care. All and all 88.00 plus tip for a not that great experience. we had 4 sushi rolls, Apps: Fried Oysters,(normally awesome but greasy) Soybeans, Spring Rolls and Chicken Teriyaki(plain chicken, swimming in teriyaki sauce served with frozen veggies and miso soup) I’ll go back and give them a chance to redeem but, I’m a little shocked this happened. Normally it is a good experience.

Although I’ve worked in the center for a few months, today was the first time I made it into Sushi One! I was only going to get the Aqua Lady roll at first, but when I saw the BOGO possibility I wondered if it would be on it, because it seemed like a special roll of the day type of thing. Imagine my surprise when not only were the rolls written on the board on the special, but that a good 75% of the rolls on the menu were as well! I double checked to make sure neither roll I ordered had shellfish, and ordered a Thai tea(first time having), the Aqua Lady, and an Acapulco roll. The drink came out first, and it was a little sweeter than I had been expecting, but it was still awesome. The Acapulco tool, for one that has jalapeño, wasn’t incredibly spicy, and the Aqua Lady was a little like a Vietnamese spring roll(with raw fish instead of cooked shrimp). The waiter was attentive, but not overbearing, and very prompt with my bill. I’ll try to get my husband to come back with me soon!

Beautiful presentation. Very energetic and positive staff. The sushi was super tasty! The Twin Dragon roll was my favorite, followed by the Hawaii roll, and the Tako. The atmosphere is great in this little place. I highly recommend.

So I was really feeling some sushi and just happened to stop by the Crafty Beer shop and saw I could walk to this place. For starters I feel like there are so many sushi spots that a lot of them are not being as creative as they should be. I’d say they are right on the line here. The taste was really good and like the other reviewers did say for the price and location you can’t beat it. Side note, it is really pretty on the inside and the hostess was super awesome! I got take out and she was very attentive even while I waited. She offered me something to drink. For dinner, no BOGO, but I got a Geisha Roll: tuna, salmon, tiny fish eggs, avocado, in a soy wrap; and a Fusion Roll: salmon, cream cheese, avocado, wrapped in seaweed, and fried, topped eel sauce. These two are my favorite rolls, here they were good, but my toes were not curly like at other sushi restaurants I’ve been too. Long story short, if you’re in North Raleigh and need a sushi fix check this place out. Arigato Sushi One.

Nice deals on BOGO sushi rolls, good fresh fish and skilled sushi artisans curating a nice selection of tasty basic rolls that are well combined and executed. No crazy exotic stuff or molecular gastronomy here, just simple and tasty fish well presented. I can definitely recommend this as a lunch or dinner stop in Lafayette Village.

Like many before me I agree that the ambiance was great but sushi one falls short in other areas. My wife and I ordered the crab wonton app which was made ok but not great. They pared the wontons with a store bought duck sauce mixed with sweet chili sauce which just did not work for me. So I waited for our server to return to ask for a different sauce. As I waited and waited some more my wife and I realized I would end up waiting until they get cold so I sucked it up and consumed the mediocre appetizer. Next we had four rolls which were good but were made like the kind you get at a buffet. They just were not special. As for the service our server was slow and I had to actually walk to the sushi bar to ask for refills of our beverages. The saddest part was the other server was catering to his guest non stop. From our dining perspective if two servers were able to come into a middle ground this place would be perfect. One needs to be faster and more attentive while the other needs to let his guest eat with him not hovering over the table. Finally I really enjoyed how clean and comfortable the entire establishment was.
