I’m afraid the new owners will suffer the same fate as the old ones. The location is good but the food is lackluster. Also the sense of customer service from everyone except the owners is poor. There is little sense of urgency or caring and no customer skills. I think you might get treated well if you talk with the owners as they seem like good hard working people. Eggs from liquid and cooked in a microwave are just ok. And chicken breast cooked from frozen in a microwave for 3 or 4 minutes comes out rubbery, extremely hot, but still questionably cooked in middle. I’m not too critical of the bagle as others have been. But if people don’t like the bagles, that is a real problem since those come from the franchise.

This place has reopened, and I feel kind of guilty for giving it 3 stars. The staff was firendly, but the food is what’s caused the low rating. The bagel was more like a crusty roll in both taste and texture. I bet they steam their bagels rather than the traditional boil and bake. Crusty bread with cream cheese is just not worth my time, carbs or calories! I may go back one more time to see if today was was a fluke, but otherwise will stick to New York Bagel down the street — or even Brueggars.

I have to agree with Scooby C. The bagels are not good. I also thought they were frozen bagels. They’re like a cross between a roll and a bagel. While the bagel was disappointing, the cream cheese was worse. It had a refrigerated taste to it that was very unpleasant. I didn’t want to eat more than half of the bagel. My friend felt the same way about hers. I had an onion bagel with onion chive cream cheese and the cream cheese had no flavor.

They officially re-opened 1÷7÷2016 Awesome food and a great staff! 5 stars. They have many types of fresh bagels, sandwiches and muffins and cupcakes. Good coffee and an assortment of hot tea as well. I’ll definitely go back…

Well that didn’t last long. I suspected when I wrote my review two years ago that this business wouldn’t last. They weren’t bad but they weren’t awesome either. Sort of ho hum. Maybe they’ll get someone else to buy the franchise and they can make it better.

From what I can gather, it has now closed its doors permanently. They had their hiccups but it served the area well. Best of luck to the owners on their new endeavors.

The bagels were okay, but not traditional NYC style. Very airy inside with not shiny crust. Website advertises a lox bagel, which wasn’t on the menu in the store.(Which is why we went there) The over all experience was bad. No napkins in the dining area, no paper towels in the bathrooms. I told them that half the coffees were out(at 10:30 am) and didn’t get replaced within our 30 mins there. All the tables were messy. Our garlic bagels were burnt from the toaster. The staff was all pretty young and the store was busy so that may explain some issues.

We ordered these bagels for our business meeting this last week, after the first day everyone requested these for the remainder of the week. They were that popular! The coffee was excellent! The bagels are HUGE! We will be back!

This place has the best customer service and the very best food. They are also very nice to their lunch students from local schools. Keep up the good work!

First time here. The outside is adorable and the inside is even better. It looks cosy and smells heavenly. The staff was super friendly and answered all our questions. The food was delicious and well presented. I loved that they had different coffee blends not just the typical blends. Place was very clean.

Uhhhhh. The bagels aren’t good. There, I said it. I’m pretty sure they’re shipped frozen and then baked. I know they aren’t boiled, they lack that soft outer crust that all boiled bagels have. I’ve been in 3 different times. The coffee is good and some of the other treats look ok, but if you call yourself Big Apple Bagel then you have a lot to look very up too. I do really like the staff as well. It’s just the bagel game has to come up a notch. If this were on one side of the street & Brueggar’s on the other, I’d be at Brueggar’s every time.

My boys love their muffins. I haven’t fully explored the menu but he now has made it his mission to make me take him there at least twice per week which is saying a lot. He loves their blueberry, chocolate and apple muffins. Loves them so much, he told me to stop bringing home dunkin donuts as he’d much rather have their muffins.

My last review was a little harsh. I feel that everyone has stepped up and become more«on» the bagels are still delicious and so are the muffins. Every time I come in I feel welcomed and satisfied!

This place is awesome! Come here at least once a week. The staff is super friendly, they even gave me an extra bagel free of charge one time since they made an extra by mistake. Also, they have great muffins. Will definitely be coming back for more NY style muffins and bagels!

The service here is what makes the place. I go here about 3 times per week, and they all know me. They even have my order started when I walk in the door. The bagels are good and fresh, but I have not sampled the other menu items. My work partner gets and egg, bacon, and cheese bagel that she enjoys, and I usually get a sesame bagel with the lox cream cheese. I’m a big fan of the lox cream cheese, and would recommend you try it out. It is like having lox on your bagel that don’t slide off when you take a bite — yum. Bottom line: awesome service, I like the food I have tried, I haven’t explored the menu.

Bacon Egg and Cheese bagel was the worst I’ve ever had. Lets start with the bagel, it wasn’t boiled, so essentially it was just an O shaped piece of bread. The bacon tasted like pre-cooked/microwave bacon. The egg was some kind of liquid egg or egg beaters(the kind the comes in a carton) then they microwaved it. The cheese tasted like it was processed American cheese. The coffee was fine. I wanted to like this place since it’s right in my neighborhood, but I won’t be going back. It’s twice as far to go to NY bagel on Falls, but it’s worth it. Even a McDonald’s bagel is WAY better than this.
