I’ve been going to La Paloma’s for Years. I live in South Boston, so it’s just a skip and a hop away. To start, the Salsa is delicious like none other. The Combination Plates are great. The wait Staff are always attentive. Super Place.

The alcoholic beverages were blah, the food wasn’t impressive but the waitstaff was great and that’s all I got!

Asked for meat on the side so my vegetarian wife could try my food. Flat out told no. The hot sauce is crappy El Yucateco. Mediocre food. Lots of cheese and beans. Fast but grumpy service

Had a wonderful dinner there this evening! The pork special with rice and a cheese enchilada was superb! Ordered a side of black beans too. See my pic. The service tonight makes this a 5 star evening. The server(no name but #21 from the charge slip) had such a pleasant demeanor, nothing was too much trouble! Kudos for such a great server!

Not bad, but nothing too special. I ordered takeout and staff were friendly and prompt. The restaurant itself looked charming and cozy from what I could see. There aren’t many Mexican options in Quincy so La Paloma is definitely worth checking out especially for the value. But if you’re looking for more authentic Mexican, I’d go somewhere else.

Pretty good for the price but their food lacks flavor.

Definitely a hidden jewel! I’ve lived in Quincy for 8 years and just never thought to try the unassuming restaurant. One day I got brave and I’m so glad I did! Boston is not the best place for authentic Mexican cuisine and Mexican is not my favorite but this place has changed all that. The fish tacos were amazingly good. Their black beans, guacamole and salsa were all delicious too. There was nothing I didn’t like about my food. I will def be going there again and it is the first place I will recommend for great Mexican food.

I’ve given La Paloma a few attempts since I moved here before writing this review. I’ve never eaten at the restaurant — my family always orders our food to-go. The to-go service is fast and friendly. And they’ve never messed up our order. As for the food, I’ve tried a few different items before making up my mind on La Paloma. I’ve had the fajitas, flautas, and burritos. The fajitas were ok — some times the vegetables weren’t cooked all the way through, making them crunchy and harder to eat. The flautas were always good — then again, how hard can it be to do a roll-up. The burritos are huge! Decent for the price. Their guacamole is fresh and probably my favorite thing about La Paloma. The salsa is a little strange with carrots in it but not as spicy as I’d like. Now for my opinion: it probably some of the best Mexican food you’ll find in Boston but it doesn’t even begin to compare to Mexican food in Southern California(what I’m used to). Seeing as Massachusetts is my home for a while, I’m sure I’ll come to appreciate La Paloma.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! My husband and I frequent this place often. I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager and have never had a bad meal here. The service is always spot on and the food is incredible! I can never get enough of their salsa or sweet shredded beef! The menu features the traditional fare plus some creative additions. Don’t miss this place! You won’t be disappointed!

A hidden jewel of Quincy. If you love Margaritas and Mexican food, you will LOVETHISPLACE! Always greeted with a friendly smile, the owner greets you as soon as you walk in. The no matter what you order, the food is delicious and the portions are so generous. bYour meal comes out so quick and piping hot. The menu has so many selections, you may be a little over whelmed at first but you are bound to find something you’ll love. While you wait for your meal, they bring you homemade salsa with chips. The salsa is so delicious! I highly suggest the Plato Specials, the come with a variety of different selections from the menu so you can get a little bit of everything. As for drinks, the margaritas are always a hit! Once again, generous portions. My favorite is blueberry pomegranate.

Stopped by for dinner on a friend’s recommendation and couldn’t be happier that good Mexican food was in the neighborhood. We stared with the queso which was creamy and delicious, followed by the steak tips and enchiladas mole. The mole hit all the right sweet and savory notes and steak was cooked in a chipotle honey glaze which complemented the beef perfectly. Service couldn’t have been friendlier. We had an early dinner and glad we did because the locals were pouring in as we were leaving. A great find. We’ll be back!

I have to say that La Paloma is one of the best options on the South Shore for Mexican food. Here’s why: their portions are generous, they use fresh ingredients, and they give you endless chips and salsa… Seriously addicting! I went here last night with a couple of girlfriends and ordered the honey chipotle quesadillas, which were incredibly flavorful, cheesy and delicious. They were served with a side of fluffy Mexican rice and fruit. One friend let me have a few bites of her chimichanga with fajita chicken and it was so sinfully good… A little jealous I didn’t order one. The margaritas were really good as well-I got a black raspberry margarita while my friends opted for a traditional and a blueberry-pomegranate. Both friends said theirs were delicious. We ended our meal with fried ice cream and churros – also standouts. Basically we rolled ourselves out of there… The service was friendly and attentive and I liked how the owner was so involved in the front of the house operations. I can’t wait to go back!

Best Mexican food and Margaritas around Boston. The Fajitas are amazing and served with rice and homemade guacamole. Excellent salsa and warm tortilla chips too.

This was my second time eating here and it will be my last! I remember enjoying the food the first time, but last night I was sick within 10 minutes of leaving the restaurant. The queso appetizer was grainy and bland, the rice and beans were awful and my partner’s mole enchiladas were terrible. I’m sorry to say that we will not be back!

Hungry after sex, I. Decided to have Mexican again, yesterday’s lunch was at Rosa cantina in Boston, excellent! This place was on the way home and had good reviews. Unfortunately, reviews can be deceiving. The staff is white, not a Mexican in site. This isn’t too say that only Mexicans can cook Mexican food but these people have no idea what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. The host greeted every one but me, charming. At least the server was friendly. The atmosphere is tacky were white people imitate another culture badly. The Jalapeño poppers were slightly over cooked. The chips and guacamole wasn’t fresh. The Jalapeño was watery and had an odd flavor. The entrée is a taco, burrito, and enchilada but getting them is taking took way too long. Other people are getting their food and I’m snacking on stale chips. When I finally got the food, it was boring and unappealing, I mean it looked like slop. They cover their food in cheese to mask the lack of flavor plus it hides the fact the each item is essentially devoid of meat. DONOTGOHERE!

Authentic Mexican on the East coast?! My family moved here from Southern California and were Mexican food snobs. Have lived here for 20 years and haven’t found Mexican food up to par. This place does it for all of us. The cod tacos are out of this world, paired with a margarita up, you can’t go wrong. The shredded beef has a sweet misquite and smokey flavor, both black beans and refried beans are amazing as well!

I have been searching high and low for a delicious Mexican spot in this area and decided to give La Paloma a try. The chips came to us nice and warm, but I was surprised to see them come in an old-looking brown plastic basket without a napkin or cloth. Additionally, we weren’t given plates, so we pretty much got salsa everywhere. Our service was excellent. The waitress was quick, very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas and before putting the order in the waitress brought me a taste of the beef because she says some people love it and others don’t care for it. The shredded beef wis made with maple syrup so it is rather sweet. I didn’t like it, so I am very thankful that our waitress was thoughtful enough to anticipate. I ended up getting 3 enchiladas: one with beans, one with chicken, and one with ground beef. They were pretty good! I also had a strawberry margarita, but it was pretty week. The décor was a bit tacky and the tables and booths could use some updating, but I will likely return to get my Mexican fix until I can find another Mexican restaurant close to my apartment.

DONOTGOHERE. Liz B, usually exquisite and discerning with her taste, was feeling generous toward Quincy and talked me into going here. I don’t blame her: I know that if she had any idea this would be as bad as it was she wouldn’t have wanted to go either. The food was terrible. Like it came out of a jar in the back and was reheated and put on a plate. The fried stuff was gross and greasy. The main dishes were flavorless, heavy, and greasy. The salsa had a very distinct canned or stored smell, like it had been sitting open in a metal can in a fridge in the back. Worst food I’ve tasted in a long time. I regretted going for several days. Service was fine. Don’t find out. Don’t go.

OVERALLSCORE: 4.5 We took this place out of the rotation, actually had not been there in a long time. There have been some noticeable positive changes at La Paloma. SALSAANDCHIPS: 4.5STARS Really good salsa, the chips seem like they make them there, they give a good sized bowl right out of the gate, and then when we knuckled it she brought another ! LUNCHSPECIALS: 4.5STARS The lunch chicken fajita was only $ 8.95, and it was a full plate of tastiness, fresh guac, chicken was cooked to the perfect point, good rice and beans. I don’t remember them having lunch specials like that before, but like I said, we gave them a long break. SERVICE: 5STARS She did great. The last few times we were here we vaguely remember a certain«we think we are all that» air, but there was none of that. The two adult male managers were running around cleaning tables too. PARKING: 3STARS That Dunkin Donuts should not have been allowed to open in the same little complex. It should have been a lame little kiosk over in Marshall’s parking lot, which is never full, to sell their tiny tasteless donuts and their rubber egg sandwiches. We got the last open spot we saw, otherwise we would have been outta there, and I am sure glad we didn’t. SEATING: We got a booth, and now that they have solidly put themselves back into the rotation when we go again we will make a point of doing it at times when we will get a booth again. They still have some of those little tables which are too close together, and Homey don’t play dat.
