Not a bad place to stop by for lunch. Order ahead some things take a while. The owner is very nice and the food always tastes good.

Nice outside area. Decent portions. Speedy service. Friendly waitstaff. — 1 star for: Weak coffee. Mixed up the order. Loud couple yelling into a speaker phone in some Slavic language. I’d recommend. I plan to return.

As of today, 26APR2014 the name on the front of the restaurant has changed. It now says ROZAFA Mediterranen. According to Quincy Public Record, it is the same owners. Since I live close by, I have watched this spot change from a good Alba Deli, into what it was recently. The service is bad and the staff are not very friendly or welcoming. The food has been good, though accuracy of orders could be improved. I agree with reviewers who complain about the service and attention to detail. I hope this name change is more than cosmetic.

Breakfasts here WONDERFUL… service a little less to be desired. Just brace yourself of this reality and you’ll overlook their lacking.

So the service still sucks, the owner is always there, and he walks around making small talk, but doing nothing. My coffee and water glass sat there empty for a loooong time, and we’re not refilled until I asked. The waitress could be described as complacent. She wasn’t necessarily friendly, but she wasn’t mean either. However, I am updating my review due to the quality of the food. I have returned on numerous occasions, knowing the service sucks, because the steak tip omelette and corned beef hash are awesome. Last time there, my girlfriend got a reuben, and it was actually amazing! And she is tough to please! So… alba deli has risen, from 1 star to 3. Ultimately, it is the food that matters.

What a bad experience. I went here for breakfast with a few friends. They sat us quickly. Three of us ordered waters and one person ordered a mimosa. The mimosa never came. On the menu is homemade corned beef hash. We each ordered the eggs bendict with corned beef hash. We waited 50 minutes for our food(no exaggeration.) During the waiting we were never acknowledged by the waitress again. She would walk by and not even look in our direction. I don’t mind waiting for good food as long as someone stops by every once and a while and checks on me and apologizes for it taking so long. Nothing. Just 50 minutes of sipping on water. Finally the food came. Normally corned beef hash has corned beef in it. At Alba Deli the corned beef hash does not have corned beef in it. They use shaved steak and fry it with some green and red peppers and call it corned beef hash. It was bland and not at all what the menu said it was. This is the one downfall of a family-run business: no accountability for shoddy work. Walk across the street if you are in the area and eat at the Early American. It looks like Heaven’s waiting room, there is the ever-present sound of the elderly clearing their throats, but at least the food comes quickly and you get what you order.

At 9am, I thought this place would be perfect. Clean exterior and modern interior. Sitting at the bar, we were greeted promptly and handed menus. The waitress wiped down my section and reset it… Minus the silverware. Two mugs of weak coffee were placed in front of us and she took our order. At this point it was now a waiting game. Unfortunately, it was a long game and for our two plates, it was at least 15 minutes. It’s breakfast. Shouldn’t take that long. I still didn’t have silverware and had to ask another waiter for some. One of our dishes came with pancakes but was served without butter or syrup. Again, we had to ask the other waiter for those. She was just completely not attentive. The food overall wasn’t really terrible. The sausage, eggs, bacon, etc. were pretty good. The ham was overcooked and the potatoes were cooked in some kind of weird honey ham something. I’m not sure but they weren’t very good. I walked by the«deli» section on the way to the bathroom and I was shocked to see meat just sitting in a counter with no lights or heat source that I could see. There were flies all over the lights and counters, floors not clean. We ended up not finishing our meals and left. Honestly, there are better places down Hancock street.

My husband and I have visited Alba Deli 3 times in the past few months, twice for breakfast and once for lunch. The food is great! Breakfast is freshly cooked with an interesting selection of omelettes with fresh veggies. My husband has ordered 2 variations of these and loved the creations and fresh veggies. I ordered eggs/sausage/home fries. Excellent. For lunch I ordered a chicken sandwich special-the best sandwich I have ever eaten with gilled zucchini and summer squash and a homemade sauce served on foccacia-yum! The décor is basic/not fancy but the food is reasonalble with free, convenient-on street parking. We will try dinner in the future. They do have a beer and wine menu. The waitress we have had all 3 times was nice and efficient.

I ate a late lunch there in Oct 2013, and was disappointed. It was a warm day, but they said that the outdoor seating was not open yet — okay — but I was the only patron there, so I don’t know what the big deal was. I at the bar — slow service. Waitress was setting up for dinner — very loud — with the plates, glasses etc… when she put these items on the table. The décor needs work. I noticed a hole in the wall. I ordered a veal parm sandwich — I have had better. I won’t be back.

A I write this, I have been waiting for my lunch for over 35 minutes. The server came over and asked what we wanted to drink when we came in… no menus, no intro. No apology for lateness. Really disappinting service. I will not be back.

I really wanted to like this place, but the guy that does the sandwich does a really bad job making them. Doesn’t care about customers so I will never eat there again.

This now has to be the«go to» spot for any kind of deli sandwich in the area. Not just because it’s the only one left, but they do have a quality offering at reasonable prices. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and have beer and wine too. If you are in Quincy and want something other than sushi give this place a try.

I really wanted to like this place. I love small businesses that are hidden gems. I wanted to love this place, especially since they’re half a block from my house, but I just couldn’t. I give a certain amount of leeway when I review a place, to whether or not it’s a good experience or not. This reviews my first visit, and a bulleted list of what went wrong: — We sit down. The very young busboy brings us our drinks. I get a fully formed, pressed lipstick mark on my coffee cup. Delish. Bitter, low quality, poor grade, and acidic, just the way I like it. We never receive water. — We ordered our meals. Once they come in, we don’t hear from our waitress again until it’s time to check out. — Our meals, while they took a really long time to make(it’s breakfast food, come on, it’s not supposed to take twenty five minutes to make), were pretty darn tasty. Until I bit into one of my hashbrowns, and the linger, cloying taste of rot is in my mouth. Mold fills my pores, my senses overwhelmed until i spit it out. It’s still there. I swirl coffee around my mouth and discretely spit it out. Relief ensues. — We nearly tackled a member of the waitstaff to get my fiancé’s cup of orange juice refilled. Please, just notice me! I’m gagging from thirst! Just a big flubby disappointment. I won’t be back.

I went here today for the first time to grab a sandwich for lunch. I got the gobbler(on a wrap) and it was delicious. I love the gobbler at Fox and Hound, and this one was just as delicious. I actually think I like Alba’s turkey a little more. I will definitely be back to try some of their other sandwiches.

Holy hell! How does it take 15 minutes to make 2 sandwiches when we’re the only people in here? And does a smile hurt? Am I inconveniencing you by being in your restaurant? If so, I truly apologize and won’t return. It’s too bad because the food is excellent, but the feeling of being an inconvenience and making me uncomfortable is not worth it.

Alba, you’ve broken my heart! You changed your menu, and got rid of my favorite sandwich(the«Vegan» which I raved about in my original review. It wasn’t actually a vegan sandwich since it had cheese, but it was delicious). You also lie about your hours. The last 2 times I’ve tried to stop by the hours posted on your door say you should be open, but the door was locked. The most recent time this happened was 8:30PM, when the hours stated you closed at 9PM. My husband had had a horrible commute home from Boston due to the back bay fire, so when he got home he had one request: a steak and cheese sandwich from Alba Deli. He was very disappointed when I returned home and told him your doors were locked.

I will never go here again. My girl and I live in quincy center. if you know quincy center there isn’t a decent breakfast place. our quest for Sunday breakfast continues. Got there at noon, took 5 minutes to get drinks. At this point there are just 2 other people in the place. I got an iced coffee, it took another 5 minutes just to get cream. in this time i ordered the steak tips and eggs special. It took us til 12:35 to get our food. my overeasy eggs were overhard with crunchy edges, my «toast» was just heated up bread, no butter. and my «medium» steak tips were rare. the hash browns were good. something these people should know, i would not be complaining about this stuff if my food came in a timely manner. breakfast and lunch are about good service. while the ladies here seemed nice, they acted like they had no control over what was going on in the kitchen. shrugging their shoulders when i asked what was going on with my food. My girlfriends eggs were also fucked up, and her french toast tasted like rubber.

This is a sandwich shop with all the fixings. From meatballs to carved turkey to tuna salad to lunch meat heaven, they have it. I tried the chicken and cheese panini(it came with a portobello mushroom but I don’t like them). It was pretty yummy and large enough to split for two lunches, which is great when you’re on a budget. …but… I have some suggestions. The panini was missing something crunchy and considering folks have been lamenting over the pickles, they aren’t it. I’m going to throw out apples. A slice of apple would bump up this sandwich! But hey, I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea so maybe some tomato and lettuce… chips? I’m just sayin…

Delicious Sandwiches a tad overpriced. I think I would have been OK with the high cost if the pickles hadn’t sucked. Get better pickles and I will gladly pay anything for that Reuben! I also can’t wait to try the pastrami. The Italiano was also really very good. Better pickles and an amazing pastrami next time might earn a 5 star. Parking is only on the street that I could tell.
