Awesome sandwiches(stacked w/deli meat) and salad bar. Wouldn’t really go there for anything else. So yummy

I have got to admit it, I eat at Mignosa’s Fruit Basket almost every day. My office is just down the street. And wow, they do a great job every day, from the mega sandwiches, the freshest salad bar, the in-season fruit bar(spring — summer) and the soup bar(fall — winter). Somehow I never tire of the place. And if I need some fruit or vegetables at home, they have a great selection. And if I ever get off my diet, they have delicious deserts and a candy section to die for. The owners Bill and Cindy, who know most of Quincy and it often feels like Cheers, where everybody knows your name. They work hard to provide a good quality product. Given the lunch volume they do, the place is clean and the staff behind the counters are generally good.

I have been going there for years and I have tried my best to be friendly with the staff but I will no longer go there because I have no desire to deal with the incredibly Overtly rude for no reason staff. The food is passable but nothing that gives the employees the right to treat customers as if they were insubordinate or unreasonable if they ask for something as simple as a fork or where an item is in the store. It’s a shame because it is so local to me but I refuse to accept blunt and cynical rudeness when I am nothing but pleasant to the workers.(Drops mic)

Great salad bar, deli counter that makes great sandwiches and paninis and everything in between. Hands down the best pastrami I’ve ever had. Get it quick because they sell out of it before 2 everyday!!!

So I had the opportunity to visit Mignosa fruit basket for first time tonight. Was very hungry and wanted a nice sangy which I heard they were known for. Was surprised to see they had a hot roast beef sangy so I asked the bearded young man behind the counter for 1 which he made promptly. When I got home and sat down and opened it up noticed how much of a portion they gave which is a A+ start to this sangy. I want to let all you people who pass the fruit basket everyday they make one of the best hot roast beef sandwiches on south shore(I very rare sandwich on south shore) and I recommend going there and getting because it was a damn good sandwich. When the bearded young man rung me up at register he told me he was still a rookie to the hot roast beef world and really trying to master his skills, then politely said I hope you enjoy it. Well kid if you just started im gonna give you a rookie of the year cause that was a 4 star sandwich. Oh yeah there Mac and cheese pasta salad was unreal too, so thx Mignosa’s for turning me into a new frequent flyer to your store…

Reading the other reviews I was expecting an authentic italian style deli/speciality store. It is not. The majority of the produce was overly ripe/bad. Their speciality foods and cold cuts were generic. I was hoping for better.

Great mom and pop place! Best spot to get a sandwich in town. I highly recommend it. It’s been there for as long as I can remember to. It’s almost like a not so hidden gem.

This review is for the deli. The produce here is very much hit-or-miss, so don’t pick blindly. Now, the deli. I wish there were more places like this still around. It’s not the pizza-and-subs place that you can find on every corner in Quincy(or any other reasonably populated city). It’s a real-deal mom-and-pop owner and operated Italian deli. They have plenty of menu options, but you can order any custom sandwich you’d like. Just pick your bread from the bread box and tell them what you want. The woman behind the counter is pleasant and will get to know your name once you become a lunchtime regular. My sandwich of choice is a classic, the Italian. It’s got so much meat and toppings that it could easily be lunch for two. I’ve had a few others that are good, and all the friends I’ve brought here have been pleased. Certainly a good place to have in the neighborhood.

Best sandwich in Quincy. Tons to choose for both the rolls and the ingredients. They also have a great salad station and ice cream.

It is concerning that Jake had this experience, as the owners seem conscientious, the individual concerned ought be let go.

Yikes! Holy health code violation, Batman! Both persons working the deli counter today did NOT use gloves today to make sandwiches. Nope. Didn’t even make the attempt, even though the little box of disposable gloves was sitting RIGHT next to the meat cutter. I realized my mistake too late, when I took my eyes of the process, past the point of no return. Would you like that Italian with everything? Yep. Hots? Yep. Flaked off scabs from the cuts on my fingers? Sure, why not. Everything, right?! Sandwich abandoned. I’d been here a few times, generally liked their subs, even if it was a case of quantity over quality — I mean, you sure got a whole LOT of sub for the cost… but at what cost? Stomach flu? Hep C? Worse? Sorry, won’t be back.

I love this place. My boyfriend and I come here at least once a week. The subs are to die for. For around $ 7 you get a sub on a fresh roll stuffed with sliced to order Boar’s head deli meet. They also have a HUGE fresh salad bar. The owners and the rest of the staff are very nice and will make your sub how ever you want. There are about 4 tables to dine in and in the summer time they have a few tables outside. You cannot beat the quality or the prices. We have had a bad expirience. If you want a fresh loaded sub come here and skip Subway.

WOULDSOMEBODYPLEASETHINKOFTHEFRUITS? I mean seriously, not one of the avocados wasn’t overripe to the point that I expected a cloud of flies. Touch one, it’s leathery skin immediately gives, no flesh underneath. A little more time checking on the produce and a little less time on the cheesy xmas decorations, and this place might be worth another visit.

I have a love hate relationship with this place. First the love, the salad bar is HUGE. Lots of choices, everything appears to be fresh and it all tastes good. I also love the specialty shop aspect of the place… Italian pastas, sauces, cured meats, cheese, great price on eggs, etc. The hate… and perhaps hate is a strong word. The salad bar is so expensive. I made a pretty average size salad today with mostly lettuce and some other various stuff on top(no meat — mostly tomatoes, cheese, etc.) and it cost me over $ 10. Just not worth it when I could go next door to star market and buy a block of cheese, bag of lettuce and can of beans for less than that. I gave an extra star because the cashiers have always been friendly to me… but I think I may have just made my last trip.

I ventured into Shaw’s earlier to get something for lunch. I couldn’t find anything I really wanted, so I remembered that the Fruit Basket was a couple doors away and went to go try it. I went to the deli counter and there was no line, so I asked the blonde woman behind the counter if I could order a sandwich on a roll. She kind of laughed at me and said that I need to go get a roll. I got my roll and brought it to her. Then, as she was getting my sandwich, she started lecturing me on where I need to stand when I order my sandwich. How the heck was I supposed to know?! She said that«for future reference, there is usually a big line here, and when you come, you need to go to the back.» NOSHITLADY. She was totally rude and condescending, and I will not be going back. However, I gave this place 2 stars because the older lady at the register was very nice.

I specifically came here to try their salad bar. It does have a variety; but I was bummed that they don’t serve real bacon bits. Baco Bacon Bits just don’t cut it for me. I was also bummed that they didn’t have the Thousand Island dressing. If you’re not as fussy as I am; this bar can suit your palette.

Getting a sandwich at Fruit Basket is like Choose-Your-Own-Adventure. They have a wide variety of fresh breads — then there’s the sliced to order Boar’s Head deli meats and cheese and any delightful sandwich topping you could want. For a mere 7 buckaroos get an enormous Italian sandwich on a braided sesame seed roll and let the good times roll. Big enough to split or to have for two meals — you can’t go wrong.
