Awesomeness! Great food, excellent service, great flavor and made from scratch. Weekly Specials are great(see tips). Will do a la carte to suit your needs. Friendly diner atmosphere. Quick off I-25. Easy on/off highway, lots of parking for rigs. Chile Relents with beef, chicken or cheese AND green or red chile. Green chile is the best!

Our first visit. Let’s start with the good. Excellent and I mean EXCELLENT service. The owner, the wait staff all wonderful and warm hearted. The sopas, best texture good flavor best one in Peublo that I have tried and thy came with the meal, tad bit salty. We had the special beef burritos. Green chili was not spicy at all and not roasted chili, found surprising because this is the ‘chili festival’ spot period. The ground meat(they don’t have shredded beef!!!) in the manufactured tortillas was not seasoned at all. The cheese was American…(Ewww) the rice had a good flavor but was cooked to the point of not being recognizable as rice. It’s a shame it has gotten good reviews and was recommended, but it really was not great. I am giving it 3 stars based on the service alone, great service in Pueblo is hard to find!

DISGUSTING food! Watery nasty rice, and the beans were nasty! We ordered chips and salsa and they served round Tostitos chips with canned Tostitos salsa and some dry chopped tomatoes and salsa

The BEST, most INSANELY, out of control DELCIOUS sopapillas I have ever eaten! Sopapillas with honey are among my very favorite desserts and these at Mill Stop Café are over the top foodgasmic pockets of gold. Have to be eaten to be believed! Thank god this restaurant isn’t in Denver or I would eat nothing else. My husband doesn’t normally eat sopapillas and even he went nuts… said they were mind blowing. Their spicy guacamole dip sauce is unique and amazing, too! Really special, as is their fantastic pico de gallo. Their homemade refried beans are also delicious and my husband wishes we could have purchased extra to take home. I had bean tostadas and wasn’t psyched about the Velveeta cheese on top. Husband’s salad wasn’t good, but he said his Mexican steak was delicious. This is a family owned place, is packed with locals, and the service is brilliant!

Gem! Best green chile in town! Smothered sopapilla and enchiladas. Small place, nice staff and good food. Sopapillas with honey after your meal are simply amazing. Definitely coming back next time I’m in town.

I thought places like this only existed in nostalgia novels and Lifetime movies. Owned by the son of the original owner and run with pride. You could eat off the floors in this place. Looks to have been here at least 50 years. Beef burritos were very good; enchiladas weren’t my favorite, but the SOPAPILLAS!!! I’ve eaten probably thousands of sopapillas in my life and these are hands down the winners. Super friendly service too. If you’re ever through Pueblo, make time.

Found this hidden gem on Unilocal and thank you whoever posted it. Had some of the best Mexican food that I have had in a long time. The portions were huge and the food was tasty. The chili rellenos were out of this world. The sopapillas can’t be missed and the service was excellent. Must be a local kept secret because they were busy non-stop on a rainy Monday night. People were also coming thru for to go orders.

We aren’t from Pueblo so we had to trust Unilocal to recommend a place with good Mexican food. You didn’t steer us wrong. The Mill Stop is pretty tasty. Huge portions, really good green chile, which we liked better than the red. The best part, however, are the free sopapillas at the end of the meal. They serve them very hot and very fresh, with a big squeeze bottle of honey. This is food like you’d make at home. Very friendly service and you can’t beat the prices. We will be back!

Took a group to the Mill Stop Café based on the Unilocal reviews. It was outstanding. It’s one of those places you would likely never stop for judging from its outward appearance. However, all 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The waitstaff and owner were very attentive and kept bringing different things for us to try. Everyone of us ordered twice as much as we needed just because it sounded so good. Let me say that the regular portions are very large. I had chiles rellenos, one beef and one cheese smothered in green chili. Excellent. Everyone left happy and full. If you’re in Pueblo and hungry, check this place out. You won’t be sorry you stopped.

The red salsa they serve with their dinners is to LIVE for. The best best best ever. We brought one mini home and are enjoying it this evening with Tillamock cheese and chips. I NEED a gallon.

Totally awesome!!! Came here because of the reviews, it’s a small café in a old strip mall but don’t let that fool you! The employees are as nice as can be and the beef stuffed sopapillas I ordered were absolutely delicious smothered in green chili! I will be back here every time I go through pueblo!!!

We decided to stop here after reading previous Unilocal reviews and were not disappointed. I ordered the beef stuffed sopapillas covered with green chili. It was very good. I had never had rice like what they serve. It was unusual but I enjoyed it. Our server was so nice too. If I ever stop back through I will eat here again. If you are craving Mexican food in Pueblo I would recommend eating here.

I think the thrill of eating here is more nostalgic than. ahem. Packs a crowd always. My lil one had her first sopapilla here. Chicken tacos on white. A bit soggy. Ask for the tomatillo and picadillo salsa’s as the red is boring on flavor. Once you see that rice it’s like a high school memory:) Five stars for service, hours and nostalgia good memories.
