We had dinner here based on the recommendation of a local friend. Pretty disappointing. Service was very slow and the server kept apologizing and blaming the kitchen, bartender etc. Artichoke appetizer was excellent as was the sautéed mushrooms. That was about it though. The cod dish had no flavor at all and the pasta with mussels was very gritty. Might just be an end of season off night but not sure I would risk it again.

Excellent restaurant! Great ambiance, amazing staff, wonderful food. I visited the restaurant many times, and every time it was consistently excellent. This restaurant became my choice for my wedding dinner! I highly recommend it.

If you are interested in a good dining experience, stay away from 9 Ryder! Four of us(all women), dined there on Saturday evening, July 18, 2015. We ordered cocktails, a bottle of wine, appetizers, entrees, coffees, and after dinner drinks. Needless to say, the bill was steep. The food was mediocre, at best. Our reservations had been for 6 pm and we were still having our coffees and after-dinner drinks at 8:10 when Marie, the hostess, told us we had to leave! She said we had overstayed our«two hour limit»!!! We were shocked. We weren’t finished but she was kicking us out! And why? We later learned that 2 males were waiting for our table! They had 8pm reservations, and they whined about having to wait ten minutes! All four of us are frequent diners in fine restaurants in Provincetown, in New York, and in Boston, and NEVER have any of us been told to leave while we were still having part of our meal! The food was poorly seasoned, when questioned about something on the menu, our server responded with“I don’t know! I’m not Italian!” Then came the mysogynistic treatment! We say NEVERAGAIN and anyone who is smart, won’t even sample it once!

We had a great dinner here last weekend. Located right on the pier with great views of the water and the sunset, this place is terrific in every way. The menu is Italian and the ambience is warm. We enjoyed every dish we tried. The portions were generous and the flavors were wonderful. Two of us had veal dishes(parmigiana and Milanese) which were mouthwatering while others took advantage of the freshly caught seafood prepared different delicious ways. Service was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Can’t wait to go back.

Maybe ONE star the most bland Italian food. Would NOT go back. Brought a group of friends and was embarrassed. Nice location and atmosphere but 5 of us nobody had a good meal!

Our server was wonderful. And that’s about the only nice thing I can say. This restaurant in a parking lot is expensive and not worth it. Our table rocked back and forth each time my dining partner or I set down a glass or applied any pressure to our plates. It was very loud, almost too loud to have a conversation, and I left with my ears ringing. The food was OK, but nothing special. I would not go back here.

Just left P town after a fabulous week there. One of the very best meals we had was at 9 Ryder. Although in P town often, this was our first time trying this establishment. It will not be the last time. There were 4 of us whose hobby is to eat out, fine dining preferred. We all agreed this was well worth the price. While the view is fabulous, you do not eat it. This place is all about the food and the service. Billy, our server, was fantastic. Stealth service. There when you needed him but not intrusive. The sauces were great. I had a manicotti crêpe dinner that was excellent and had enough left over to have it for lunch the next day… just as good. It was like eating heavenly cheese crepes with a lovely red sauce that didn’t overpower. The linguini with clam sauce. delicious that night and the next day. The other two meals were raved about as well. The place is small so surely you may have to wait a bit. My suggestion– go earlier. But be sure to go. This is on our list of repeats for sure. Worth every cent… if you want fast and cheap Italian food. there are other places in town to go to. If you know your food, wines, and want a dining experience go to 9 Ryder. Our compliments to the chef.

We ate here last night-were able to get in without a reservation… it’s after the season though… food was okay, service was okay, table was wobbly! So much so that it detracted from the meal. I thought it was just outs but my husband shook the table next to ours and it was the same… maybe they just ordered cheap tables? Also we all had wine except for one of us-she ordered a specialty cocktail($ 15)…it came with a neon plastic straw in it ??? Tacky. It was also a cold night-appropriate for winter jackets-and they had all of the doors and windows open. So, the wobbly table, neon straws, and the fact that I almost froze to death while eating are enough to cross this restaurant off of my list. I won’t go back… the food isn’t worth dealing with what the atmosphere lacks :(

This place has the best view and by far best martinis in town. So creative and strong too. You will not be disappointed, especially with gluten free options on the menu.

A friend of mine told me about this place. Been back twice so far. The setting is amazing and don’t expect to be out of there quickly. All the food is cooked to order and is amazing. I am looking forward to going back on my next trip to Provincetown

Great Italian food but very pricey. they also have a great view from the dock that looks out onto the bay. Entrées are around 30 bucks or higher. Spaghetti and meatball is over $ 30. The portions are on the small side but very well-prepared. The kitchen area is open so you can watch them cook, this is always a plus in my book. The restaurant itself is very small and I suggest you make reservations as they only seat about 50 people. The other dishes we had were the seafood pasta and chicken Marsala. Both were very tasty.

O.K. I have to admit I am really hesitant to write about this place… because I fear that word is going to get out about how good it is and I won’t be able to get a table! The food is consistently fresh and quite good — a bit on the pricey side but well worth it! The pasta is always cooked perfectly, the salads are huge and fresh(two can easily split a salad — FYI) The fish dishes are also quite fresh(from what my dining companions tell me — I’ve vegetarian). The wine list is very limited but the options are pretty decent, there’s also a full bar offering some very unique cocktails made with organic infused goodies that looked very tempting. The place is very small, right on the water, great water views from a few of the tables and the service is always attentive and very nice — we dine there often during ‘the season’ and have found the entire staff to be friendly and competent. There are other Italian options in town(Front Street is one of my favs) but we tend to come back to 9 Ryder because it’s small, the food is great and you can have a conversation without straining to hear each other(Front street is very loud — impossible to carry on a conversation there). I highly recommend 9 Ryder… just leave me a table or seat at the bar once in awhile! Oh, and be sure to try the homemade Sorbet — it’s amazing!

TRYTHEDRINKS. GREATVIEW. Great new place. True they have some improvements to make on food, but the food was good, if pricey. We loved Sarah the mixologist, and the bar has the best seats in the house so we favor that. Sarah is very creative, even in this era of infused everything. You won’t regret trying unusual drinks here. Sure, they are expensive, but for handmade and the best in class, well worth it. Sarah makes the bar comfortable and homey to spend a leisurely evening. One comment on that– they need a foot rail at the bar! This restaurant deserves to survive to fight another year in the competitive setting that is overtouristed Ptown. Another plus– locals come here.

We returned for a second visit… 8pm reservation and had to wait 45 minutes. Not happy. Why take a res. if you’re going to overbook tables! Clearly this place has management issues. Service was as bad as the first visit, the same waitress as last time(is she related to someone, owner, chef?) and has no clue. Didn’t bring side plates to share apps and after we flagged her down, waited and waited… still no side plates. Hubby got up and cornered her coming out of the kitchen(wasn’t hard as this place is tiny, tiny). When she forgot our order of seasonal veggies(I was trying to be a good girl while stuffing myself with all those carbs) she returned to the table giggling, «oh, we’re out of them now.» The kitchen was in the weeds and clearly couldn’t handle the volume. Food wasn’t as good as last visit. This place isn’t inexpensive. And while I support new businesses in town, I’m not going to waste my $$$ here again. Sad…

Not awesome… just ok. In other words-Not terrible, just needs work… I will give them another shot, if they are here next season. Great cocktails, but at $ 15 they better be! Damn they pricy! Entrees– Linguine with Clams — eh. Small portions. Needed more umph! Chicken stuffed with cheese and prosciutto-disaster! A chicken tender, unstuffed with a piece of burnt proscuitto next to it. Pasta Carbonara-ok. Greasy but ok Veal Picatta-not bad. Veal was tough but best meal of evening Atmosphere was cute but with no ac, very hot. Also-no screams on door meant a lot of flies buzzing around. Hopefully next time will knock my socks off

What a spectacular find in P-town. Recently opened right on the dock in a cute little shack/building. Tons of charm and atmosphere. I sat at the bar and was very impressed by the British bartender. She makes one mean martini as well many innovative specialty cocktails. For dinner she reccomended the Spagetti Carbonara. It was amazing. Better than anything I have had in Italy. Do not leave town without trying this dish! What a great addition to the P-town restaurant scene.

We had the absolutely most wonderful experience at 9 Ryder tonight. Our server, Billy was a delight and exceedingly knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. We chose delicious stuffed mushrooms, a caprese salad with yum mozarella and tomatoes, lusciously fresh flounder, and the hit of the night, veal piccata with pasta. I have never enjoyed a piccata as well as their version. The veal was tender and the sauce was to die for. We are here for a week and will definitely go back before we have to leave.
