As usual, I was on the road with my daughter for field hockey and on the way home(after two games) she needed to eat… NEEDED to eat! I was told simply«I want pizza» so I jumped on Unilocal and found the closest place with the best reviews… and that’s how I happened upon Aljons Pizza. First thing I noticed when we walked in the door was that it was a pretty big place and I assumed they must do well. There was a post-season youth soccer party going on and I always love when coaches support a local place for something like that. Anyway, we were greeted right away and we ordered four slices — plain(with extra sauce on top of the cheese), sausage, ziti, and a margherita with vodka sauce. the plain slice was a little thick, but the sauce was really great and the crust had a nice crisp. I normally like a thin, softer crust on my plain pizza, but this was a great tasting slice. the sausage slice was a more traditional Jersey pizza crust — really thin so you could fold it, and it was very good. Sausage was crumbled, which I don’t mind–(though I prefer sliced), but when it is I like bigger crumbles — just my preference. The ziti slice was simply one of the best I’ve ever tasted and my daughter 100% agreed — she loved it. The vodka sauce slice, I have to be honest took me off guard a bit as it was a little funky, but tasted great. Not funky BAD, but funky as in I didn’t know what to expect… Fast service with a smile, spacious seating, very clean, great selection of slices and the pizza was really good. Why wouldn’t I give this place 4 stars???

The staff is nice, always have been, I sometimes end up here in passing but forget how bland the pizza is, the slices are nice and hearty but no taste… not the cheese or sauce. It can’t be all bad I end up here maybe once a year or every other… but damn.

I started going here in the mid-70s. Video games in the back, by the bathrooms got a TON of my money when the only other place in town was Space Port. Pizza is consistently good, bordering on great. Good selection of toppings. I moved away in the mid-80s, but EVERY time I came back. I had to stop in for the obligatory«Slice and a soda» before heading home. I STILL stop in, even though I live 40 miles away. Pizza is still great, although they’ve changed somewhat, it’s still the same place I hung out every afternoon, after getting out of South. I don’t hit anything on the menu except pizza, so 5⁄5 overall, isn’t fair. But rest assured, their pizza is 5/5, and has been for about 40 years!

Wouldn’t recommend the gluten free pizza here. Dominos is much better for the same price and quality. Considering it around $ 15 for a small pie, they decided to be cheap with the toppings.

I used to get cheese steaks here after golf with John Nash. Well John Nash usually got the fish and chips… Not exactly my first choice on the menu, but then again I’m not the one with a Nobel prize in economics. Pizza slices are a bit pricy.

Great place, service, and food. They are always smiling, and they have so many food options to smile about! Our favorite is a mixed cheese hoagie with everything on it thrown in the oven — yum! We call it a grinder in Philly, but it is just as tasty here.

If you have lived in the area for some time, you might have have noticed that only two establishments have remained consistent in this shopping center near the train station: Bagel Hole and Aljons. This stability is with good reason: Aljons produces consistently good food with good service. I’ll be the first to admit the crust is a hair thicker than I’d prefer, but on the whole, the pizza is quite good. While they do a very good plain slice, if you want something different and tasty, try the taco or Vodka Rigatoni slices(I’m not a fan of the special sauce slices that everyone raves about). A few years ago I made the bold statement on Unilocal that Brothers was better. Let it be known here and now I was an idiot: ALJONSISBETTER.

Best pizza around. The crust is a little chewier than I like, but you really can’t beat Aljons so I’ll take it. My favorites are the margarita, the veggie(which is loaded with fresh veggies) and my favorite pizza topping is banana peppers. I’ve had pizza with banana peppers in basically every pizza shop around and Aljons does it best.

Great food – pizza, entrees, salads, and the cheesesteaks are phenomenal. The guys are real friendly and have run the place for years. I moved away from the area but on returning for a visit I ordered the veal parm entrée. While it was delicious(sit-down tablecloth high-quality olive oil style), the best part was the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. They remembered details about me even though I haven’t seen them in 6 or 7 years. There aren’t just there to throw pies in your face like a lot of places. They brought the food out to me in stages(salad, bread, pasta, etc) and took time to make sure I was taken care of, even though it’s not a sit down kind of restaurant. They care about their guests. It’s old school service like this that keeps many of us coming back.

Came here of a friends recommendation and eh it was good. The pizza is really heavy and big so two slices with do the trick if you’re looking to get stuffed. It is a bit pricey but you do get full quickly so whatever. The cashier was rude, I don’t like him. If I come again I think id go to a different location.

I’m from the West Coast, but was nearby today and met a friend at Aljon’s for lunch. I had two slices of pizza: chicken ranch and their«special sauce» slice. Both were excellent and, to my tastes, unusual. Good neighborhood place. All the folks who worked there(my friend is a regular and knew everyone) were from Italy and all were very nice. If I lived nearby, I’d be here all the time.

*Pizza by the slice, not a restaurant just so you know *Huge slices and while they weren’t amazing they were decent, trued the buffalo chicken *total NJ dudes running the place, pretty local vibe

Because this place is in Princeton Junction, I’ll give it three stars. If you’re used to NYC or any other quality pizza town, you’ll be disappointed. The pizza is way too saucy and too stingy with the mozzarella cheese and fresh basil– this is for the Margarita pizza. However, there are a few items I would order again: the Rutgers with chicken or the Princeton with chicken if you’re cool with canned mushrooms.

Aljon’s has always, without exception, made the BEST Chef Salad I have ever had the pleasure to eat. The pizzas are an exceptional treat and the Cheese Steaks are just about the best in the area. But, last night I tried one of the entrees(Veal Parmigiana). I never expected a Pizza Shop to make such a delicious entrée. But, I have to say the Veal Parmigiana was just wonderful. Really can’t remember having a better veal dinner anywhere. The veal was tender, the sauce(or gravy for my Italian friends) was excellent. It also came with Fresh Warm Bread, a garden salad, and pasta(I had Penne). The owners and staff are always friendly and welcoming. It’s like visiting neighbors who cook for you. A fan for life.

Tried the eggplant parm sandwich for lunch. One of the better ones that I’ve had in the area. It comes on a foot long but unlike the ones from your fast food chain, this one’s real big on satisfying one’s hunger pangs. Shared a portion with my colleague but still felt that I had a solid meal. Delizioso

The best pizza around the Princeton & west Windsor area. I’ve been going here since I was a little kid(ate their pizza for like 15 years) — since its right down the street from my home — and I’ve come to realize(as I try more pizza in more towns and different states) that its still some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. These genuine first generation Italians have been cooking pizzas for decades here. They use a dough that gets crispy on the bottom — which I looooove(soggy pizzas suck!) and it’s thin crusted. Their tomato sauce is perfect in flavor and their cheese is melty and soft(not the chewy mozzarella some places use). Their service is pretty quick(unless its dinner time on a Friday) and they’re all very polite. They renovated their entire pizza shop when the whole shopping center was reconstructed. It’s more modern looking inside with the same old-school eating booths as 20 – 30 years ago. They also added more food(non-pizza) choices to their menus and more gourmet pies with popular flavors like buffalo chicken pizza are now on display(rather than the usual pepperoni & plain). The bathrooms in the back was also renovated and is now brand new and modernized. But they got rid of their candy grabbing machine and arcade games that I grew up with :( I recommend their pizza if you love thin crusted genuine Italian pizzas! They also have pretty good subs! But I’m not that big of a fan of their mozzarella sticks — the cheese is bit too chewy with too thick of a crunchy exterior.

Aljon’s has undergone a makeover since my last review, and it looks better than before. Today, the Eggplant Parm Sandwich was quite good. No complaints. The large screen TV’s on the wall are a nice touch, except that both have CNBC depressing the customers with the down market. I am still a fan.

This is by far the best pizza shop there is. The buffalo chicken and Margherita pizza is THE best. I had to get another slice of the Margherita because it was THAT good. Their parmesan cheese isn’t the one that you’d find at the grocery store. It’s actual cheese that’s finely grated. It’s so fluffy!(reference: Despicable Me)
