Wow. I visit a friend in Poulsbo on a regular basis. We often have lunch at «TSI»(That’s A Some Italian Ristorante). I’ve learned to order Catch,(as in «of the day»), every time. Simply outstanding! I live in Seattle and we have many fine Italian and Seafood restaurants. None are better and few as good. Never had a bad experience and always had fine food and good times.

My hubby and I decided to take an overnight jaunt to Poulsbo after the stress of selling and buying a house. We chose to eat dinner at Thats A Some Italian restaurant. The meal was excellent. I had The Catch of the day, Coho Salmon with an Apple Butter sauce. My hubby had a steak. We decided to have dessert, also, which we don’t normally do. He had the cheesecake(comes naked. No fruit, no whip, nothing). It was very good. I love Tiramisu, so went with that. BIG disappointment. It was tasteless and watery. I told our server and he removed it from our bill(I left a fair portion of it uneaten; it was nasty). We didn’t have drinks, of any kind. Our cost, with tip, was about $ 60. We would def eat here again. Oh, and the table we sat at was the same table John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Carolyn Bessett sat at in August 1994. There is a frame with his pic and the vendor copy of his credit card slip at the table. We thought that kinda cool.

I dont know if there is better in Poulsbo but for ok Italian this place is ehh. We had a large party and they where short staffed so I’ll give that to them. However $ 20 for seafood pasta that was not a huge portion(and it may have given me food poisoning) was a bit much. The main issues: 1. Not severing the whole table at the same time. My dish and my daughters dish came about 5 min before my wife. 2. I mentioned to the server that my wifes cannelloni tasted like oregano. I mean powerful. I could not taste anything but oregano after a small bite. I told the waiter who dismissed my comment and told me to talk to some other guy, who was busy flirting w/a couple of female customers. All told it was an expensive evening for sub par food.

We came in on a Saturday night. We were a large party, so the slow(ish) service was understandable. To be fair, we occupied 4+ tables and had 1.5 servers, so really, they did a pretty darn good job, and never lost their smile. Food: we started with the roasted garlic, and oh my, was it good. The side salad was pretty standard, similar to what you’d get in a bag in your local produce department. I wasn’t willing to pay the $ 2 to upgrade to a Caesar salad, though, after getting my main dish, I wish I had. I ordered the canneloni, which was two meat stuffed canneloni covered by a small amout of sauce and cheese, and accomapnied by a side of green beans and tomatoes. The best part of the plate was the green beans. The canneloni had promise, it was very meaty, and the pasta tender, BUT. It tasted like the chef dumped a jar of dried oregano on top of everything. The taste was seriously overpowering; it was all I could taste for the rest of the night. With the other options nearby, I’m not sure that this would be my first choice for a meal.

I use to like this place a lot. Wow, has it changed. Cafeteria food. My son ordered a chicken dinner than looked like it was out off a hospital food service operation. Way over

Paid premium price for a filet mignon medium rare, it was cooked to death. The side of potatoes were half burnt beyond the possibility of chewing, deep fried I believe. The other two pasta plates that were ordered were also mediocre. Nice waitress and good salad dressing are the only good things I can say. Save your money

Family in town for black Friday shopping in Poulsbo. Kids were hungry so we chose the closest place to where we were standing. I had the French dip, meat was tender and the au jus was typical. The rest of the party said the food was ok, nothing to write home about. Service seemed quick for the number of people in the restaurant. The owner was wearing Washington University house slippers, which seamed weird, but the game was on so maybe it was just in support of the team.

Purely mediocre. The food was nothing special and the service was okay, not great. We were seated right away next to the kitchen which would’ve been fine except the cook’s shirt wasn’t long enough so I got a nice view of his butt crack. I’m not sure I would choose to eat there again. Just nothing special.

My husband had the lasagna and it was pretty good, I had chicken Alfredo and it was extremely bland. The bread tastes store bought. The salads were very good as was the service. The restaurant and wine bottles around the restaurant were very very dusty and our salt and pepper shakers sticky which grossed me out. I feel with some TLC to the restaurant would have a much better all over feel.

We had a family get together tonight and had a wonderful time. The food was really good and the service from when we walked into the restaurant and to when we left was great. Some of the dishes were a bit over priced but they tasted incredible. its a great place for a large group.

That’s a Some a MEDIOCRE Ristorante Antipasto was bland and uninspired, like something your elderly aunt who has lost her tastebuds pulled out of the fridge from something she served to her bridge buddies three days ago. Bolognese sauce on spaghetti was badly seasoned and bitter. My wife’s minestrone was no better than canned. And…we spent $ 40 after tip for perfunctory service. Wish we had gone to Wendy“s. Don’t go here.

The hostess and waitress were super nice as was the view. We enjoyed our wine, salads, and bread. Our dishes? Terrible. I had a chicken dish with a dijon sauce and my husband had a fish dish with some sort of sauce. Both tasted no better than a Lean Cuisine. I’m not kidding. My husband compared it to ship food. Some of the green beans were well cooked and others were crunchy, and the side of pasta was absolutely smothered in butter. We seriously regret not getting pizza. I wish I had something better to report!

Went here for lunch. Wonderful service, great food, friendly staff, and the best tiramisu cake around!

Came for lunch with my mother in law– despite Unilocal reviews. We did not have to wait for a table. We got focaccia served right away. It was yummy. We shared a Caesar salad– very tasty. I ordered the lasagna with meat sauce. Delicious! Could tell it was home made. Chunks of tomato, meat and onion!!! It was a HUGE serving– enough for 3 people. My MIL ordered spaghetti and said it was really good. We both left with leftovers! I definitely will return!

My 2-year old grandson can prepare a better meal. Sent the coffee back twice and still came full of grounds. The fish was tasteless covered in green peppers? Soup tasted like gasoline. Definitely won’t come back

We came in and it was the first time here so we really weren’t sure what to expect. Upon entering there was a couple other people waiting … we waited 12min to be seated and in that time we were never acknowledged. No «be right with you» or anything. The other party before us was put at a table and still no acknowledgement from the hostess. The place wasn’t that busy but the hostess ignored us and passed us about 10 times. We actually were just discussing to go elsewhere. We were then sat at a table that was WET not just damp but I put my arm on the table and my sleeve was soaked. We had to request that it be dried off. I understand that the plastic tablecloths probably do that a lot but they should really dry the table before sitting a patron. We then began waiting some more so that when the waitress showed we made sure to place the appetizer and dinner order them so we wouldn’t have to wait again. For the appetizer we ordered the Garlic Cheese Bread — which never came during the meal. We ordered the filet and a penne pasta with grilled chicken(this isn’t offered on the menu but they did prepare it for me) When the food was brought we asked about the Garlic Cheese Bread and we were told that the order was never made. We were brought regular bread and focaccia to make up for it and then we were asked if we still wanted it. Um, yes. The owner? Manager came and apologized and actually called the kid stupid who didn’t make it. Then we noticed that someone outside in the parking lot was giving us the death stare out the window. This kid would not stop it made us uncomfortable so we hightailed it out of there with everything I to go containers.

How I heard of this place: My cousins, Sheida & Lucy Luna, and my aunt, Gisela had spent about ten days, leading up to the wedding at the Guest House Inn & Suites in Poulsbo. During their stay, they had the opportunity to dine at numerous local restaurants, including That’s-a-Some-Italian Ristorante, where they took my sister and I on this beautiful summer day, to partake of fresh, hand tossed pizzas. Type of cuisine: Pizza, pasta and everything Italian. Ambiance: A quaint and cozy setting, this rustic establishment warmly greets patrons into their brightly-painted red and green interior. Mural-painted walls include brick backgrounds with a pizza chef, hand-tossing pizza dough into the air behind a painted doorway leading to the woodfire grill. Windows along the front of the restaurant look out towards the patio, where white, fabric umbrellas offer shade to outside diners seated on green, plastic chairs; and onto the parking lot directly behind the waterfront. Red– and white-checked tablecloth line the tables in this front portion of the café, where round, wood-backed chairs offer seating to diners. The kitchen space is located just behind a bar, red paint against the wall underneath, where glasses are displayed upside-down underneath diamond-shaped wooden wine racks overhead. Through the space between glasses and counter-top can be found additional silverware, plates, water pitchers and drinking cups, beers on tap, a sleek-looking espresso machine and a small lamp, off-balance. The wooden slats making up the ceiling are painted in bright, Italian-flag red, where bright green reinforcement bars in thick-cut wood make there way across. Lights set in the ceiling can be turned on and off by pulling on the corked lines making their way down to within arms reach. A small shelf above the green-framed windows host trinkets such as jars and bottles, pictures and posters, as well as small pots of fake greenery. Everything from a poster of «Lady and the Tramp» to a framed picture of the Leaning Tower of Pisa(hung askew in order that the Tower is no longer leaning), to a framed magazine article of Ted Kennedy, and a drawing of Mickey Mouse, losing its luster, presumably from years of hanging on the restaurant wall. To the back of the establishment, a green-framed doorway and windows look out onto more restaurant seating and murals painted against the walls. A wooden barrel holds menus and a large armoir contains the salt & pepper shakers, oil & vinegar containers and baskets of coloring for younger guests. One such coloring paper is of Garfield holding a pizza with one, lit candle in the center, smiling mischievously at the artist. The children’s menu as well as male and female slices of pizza, holding hands, also grace the page. A blue, plastic cup of wax crayons keep young patrons quiet and happy as their meals are being prepared. What I ordered: On this first lunch visit, my aunt selected the Eggplant Parmesan($ 9.99), fresh eggplant rolled in a seasoned Parmesan breading with homemade marinara sauce, mozzarella and provolone cheeses. The rest of us(four) shared the Fresh Vegetarian pizza($ 19.99 large) with mushrooms, green peppers, onions, black olives and fresh slices of tomato laid across the top before serving. We requested the addition of artichoke hearts($ 1.75) for our little Lucy Luna. At our table, we also had two orders of Lemonade($ 2 each) and one Raspberry Italian Soda($ 3). What I loved: The pizza was hot, fresh and delicious. It truly hit the spot! Why I loved it: The name of the restaurant gives it a playful and family-friendly feel that continues to be felt inside. The staff are pleasant and the food well worth returning for! Cost: Average to high($ 15-$ 20 per pizza)
