Our new favorite coffee place near the Hollywood theater. The coffee was great, the Mexican mocha had a great blend of spicy and sweet. They also made me a pumpkin chai at my request with their house made pumpkin sauce. Delicious! The treats looked good, but we didn’t try any. The barista was very nice.

This place has it down. Great staff that is friendly and welcoming. Excellent coffee from different regions of the world. You can try your choice of different varietals for your espresso. The pastries are from the bakeshop on Sandy Boulevard, and are excellent and fairly priced. And when I come with my dog, and sit outside, they’re very helpful with the ordering process. Great addition to the neighborhood

Stumbled upon this by parking in front to visit some nearby shops. An open airy corner spot that would make a great place to work, *unless* it’s story time at the library next door(I’m guessing– it was quiet and lovely at 11am on a Wednesday). They strike a nice balance by offering a few kid friendly snacks and high chairs, but not a play area or toys that I noticed — a compromise that makes it a good stop for moms like me without being a magnet for craziness.

They use Ristretto Roasters, one of my favs. Location is quaint, right next to the library and parking is relatively easy. Prices are average and service by young blond gal is very friendly. They have an attractive wooden counter facing the north, but no stools. Very limited food options knock it down a notch.

I really like Rust. They are expensive but the coffee is really good. They serve Ristretto beans which I love. I always just get a cup of regular coffee but my boyfriend says the mochas are great as well. I wish they weren’t so expensive so I could come here every morning. I’ve tried a couple of their pastries, they’re good-not great and overpriced.

I like the library. You could say, in fact, that I’m a library fanatic. This place gets bonus points for basically being INSIDE(OK, adjacent to, but still) the Hollywood library. It’s quite delightful. It’s a great place to hang out on a rainy day and have a cuppa while poring through your big stack of freshly checked-out, gently worn books, and feel really great about living in a city with the best public library system in the nation and the best coffee culture of pretty much anywhere. The baristas are friendly, the food selections light but tasty, and the espresso pulls well-done. The only thing I’d add to Rust would be a few squishy/comfy armchairs for maximum chillaxing.

This place has great coffee and you can tell they truly care about their customers. They seem to be really invested in supporting local from the art displayed to the delicious pastries and ristretto roaster coffee. I loved the atmosphere and the thought put in to every detail.

I had a couple of drinks here today. The baristas were knowledge and helpful. They had various milk alternatives and drinks were reasonably priced. I had their homemade pumpkin latte and it was exquisite. The Ristretto roasters beans were very potent and tasty. I met the owners and you could tell they really appreciate you and your business. What’s not to love?

Awesome location for book worms /Coffee junkies. Right next to the Hollywood library front doors. Clean and modern looking. Friendly staff and good coffee with some tasty looking treats to go with your drink. A few tables outside make for a good place to drink coffee and read.

Went here today for a spell to read and sip on some java. Ordered an iced mocha. This has to have been the absolute worst iced mocha I have ever had. I choked about half of it down and threw the rest away. I am baffled as to how incredibly awful it was. The worst quality coffee. Those crap iced mocha machines at 7 – 11 churn out better drinks than this swill. I frequent the library there a lot but will not be throwing my money away here again! So many great choices in that area, I highly recommend them all over this place. I recommend International Delight instant regurgitation over this. Additionally, all the chairs are wooden and it’s not a very comfortable environment.

I stayed at Rust Coffee while waiting for the library to open. It was fairly modern. The staff was very attentive and on the spot when recommending the foodstuffs. I had the mocha and the odd crumb cake. I would like to commend the coffee maker of the mocha. Her latte art was quite excellent and the drink went down smooth — as best as you can say a mocha can be. There is a nice view to the outside street. It is a good waiting space for the library goer who is caught by the opening times and/or exiting the place. There is art on the wall and I think some are for sale.

Great owners who are serious about providing the best coffee and service! I’ve had the con panna– it was nice and smooth and the real whipped cream was perfection. The Lattes and mochas are just right and though I normally add extra shots to my coffee so they aren’t so sweet, I didn’t have to here!

I went to Rust for the first time today after a quick trip to the library, and I am really pleased with the new space & coffee. I got an iced americano with vanilla, and it was delicious! I also asked if they had soy milk for the drink and the barista told me they had soy, almond, or rice milk I could use. What a treat! It looks like they have great baked goods to choose from, but I ended up choosing a Peanut Butter bar from their gluten-free & dairy-free selections — and it was so yummy! I had a great chat with the barista and the cashier, they both were really nice, and I will definitely go back!

I am so ridiculously excited that Rainy Day Coffee has turned into this place! I have a kid so I’m bummed, theoretically, that it is slightly less child-friendly. But that’s what Fleur de Lis a few blocks away is for. As a mother I liked Rainy Day Coffee, but as an individual who honestly enjoys a little serenity and grown-up time once in awhile, Rust is great! Beautiful, modern and simple styling, cold-brew coffee on tap(?!), emphasis on serving good espresso drinks over miscellaneous muffins etc, personable staff. I would really be so happy if they had a frequent buyer card, however. Something to hope for. The only other thing that annoys me is how they serve the cold-brew in a mason jar. This annoying trend must die. Who the F wants to drink out of a jar, seriously? It doesn’t even add any atmosphere anymore, either, it’s no longer depression-era South. It’s now hipster-era Portland more than anything.
