Tried to eat breakfast at Little River Café last weekend, while stopping through Portland. It came up as the number two spot to check out for breakfast near our hotel and being that it was the closest and had great reviews we thought we would try it out. After ordering our food we attempted to pay and after three failed attempts and a flustered cashier we were told that they did not accept foreign credit cards. I thought it was a joke because it made and still does not make ANY sense to me. Welcome to 2015! Everyone has a credit card and everyone accepts credit cards. That’s why you travel with one, so you can pay for things… that’s the whole point!!! Here’s a suggestion: GET A BETTERCREDITCARDMACHINE

While I’m traveling in Portland, I found this little spot! You can find lots of organic, vegan, healthy stuff. It is very festive, and peaceful. Please look at the pics I took! It shows how orange the eggs are. It means how organic they are and how healthy and cage-free the chickens are. ;-)

I had a good breakfast here. I had to work my way around straggling dragon boaters. You order at the counter. I overtipped well and regretted it slightly. I had to pump my coffee out of a carafe, get my own hot sauce(they had Challula, yeay!!!), and bused my dishes. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. I’d go back but it’s not my list of must eateries.

This place was ok, it wasn’t great food(I had the french toast) what made it earn 3 stars was the location and not feeling rushed to leave while catching up with an old friend who was visiting Portland.

Omlette with Cheddar, Mushrooms, & Ham Gluten-Free Pancakes 16 oz OJ It was ok, nothing to write home about but if you are craving a gluten free breakfast and are in the area, this would be the place. The ice cream/coffee are better options.

Decent breakfast/lunch with an awesome view of the river! It’s more of the healthier option than the other breakfast/brunches around downtown. The Old Fashion had fluffy pancakes and nice thick pieces of bacon. The tuna melt was also yummy as well and not that heavy to start off the day.

Although slow at the register, the employees are VERY friendly and super sweet. They all seem to be young girls. but they’re doing their thang! It’s an order at the register, take a number, serve you food type of café. and they have some great food here! A bit pricey, but hey. if the food is good. you can’t complain. The first day, I ordered me their 3 pancakes and added candied walnuts for an extra dollar. LOVED the pancakes! It was super fluffy and flavorful. Highly suggest on getting those candied walnuts inside. so delicious, and adds a great crunch to your pancakes! Came back on Sunday and I wanted pancakes again, but also something different.SO.I got their omelette(came with zucchini, spinach, onions and cheese) with 2 pancakes. :D The omelette was great! Nice flavors and the veggies were delicious. I didn’t think I could add the pecans to this dish. idk why, but I wish I did. The pancakes were still delicious as ever! This place gets super packed, and if you sit outside. you see TONS of runners and people walking their dogs. A great place to relax and talk to people.

Nice little place. I had a good time last night. Pretty good food, very good ice cream! Prices are reasonable. Staff was nice. I also like the location and the tables out front. Great place to people watch.

Great waterfront spot to grab breakfast… With outdoor seating, tables, outlets, and drinks, I frequent the Café many times a week to get some work done and eat. Nice atmosphere, good view of the water, and it is quiet(until the big groups of kayakers or kids from a field trip come in). The staff is very kind and orders come up quick. The only reason it is not 5-star for me is that I always leave with my clothes picking up a scent… I can’t quite put a thumb on what it is, but the combination of their grills and prep in the morning causes a lingering smell. It’s not necessarily a bad smell, but it sticks on me everytime I walk in. I will be in line for 5 min, or working at a table inside for hours… either way, I leave and the smell is on my shirt or jacket. It is the strangest thing and the only reason I am not giving it 5-stars.

Service was very good and everyone there was polite and nice. The food however wasn’t quite as good as I had expected. The BLT had about double the amount of lettuce it should, and the bread was almost rock hard… Now the rest of it was actually pretty good, however when you bite into hard bread that feels like it could break your teeth… Kinda takes away from the sandwich no matter how good it may be! Also, closing at 6 is a bit early, especially when you serve ice cream. Plenty of people walked by at around 6:30−8pm after dinner on the waterfront, only to be disappointed they closed so early. Decent overall

Loved my gluten free toasted multigrain bread with roasted eggplant, carmelized onions, roasted orange pepper, and creamy pesto spread. The TIMS extra thick and crunchy chips were yummy. Riverside view; free WiFi; friendly staff; nearby geocache; locally made ice cream.

We are here for vacation and my husband sees a cute place to have breakfast on his morning run. Ideally situated along the river this place is a healthy breakfast for those who want a great view. I wanted an egg and chews breakfast sandwich which is not on the menu. They made it for me anyway. It was delicious! My husband got the omelet and pancakes and devoured them. A great view and good breakfast. I def appreciate their willingness to make what I wanted!

Sandwiches, beer wine, breakfast… ok sure, it’s got a great selection of items to eat, and frankly, I’ll let others talk about them. I was there for the one thing that can cure a hot day. ICECREAM. Ice cream on the waterfront with beautiful scenery? Come on, no brainer! Umpqua Ice Cream to be exact. There was a line, so that’s positive. Not too long but scoops, shakes, sundaes. All good, I’m sure and all priced decently. Chocolate brownie. Bits of pecan brownie… too good, and hit the spot. One scoop with a cone on top was enough. $ 3.75, I believe and I sat outside with my housemate and we enjoyed the sun going down. Nice for a Sunday evening. Enjoy.

Food was good, service was horrific. First, I give her the order, and she forgets our daughter’s food totally. Then she forgets my soup. No «hey let me give you a larger soup» or «can I bring you a cold drink while you wait on the other food» nothing. Was a bit pricey for what the food was, as well. Not terrible, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for the place.

Decent spot for a quick lunch, but nothing worth seeking out. Very basic sandwiches, burgers, salad, wraps. For what you get it’s priced a little steep. But I do like that it’s just a skip away from work, so I anticipate I’ll be back when hunger strikes me enough. On the plus side, at least their sandwiches come with chips and a pickle. That was a nice surprise. Bottom line, don’t expect anything you couldn’t pull together at home in 5 minutes.

DRAGONFRIENDLY. Well, I might be somewhat biased when it comes to this river front café that sits, you guessed it, on the front of the west bank of Willamette River. During a nice summer day, there are tables on the sidewalk and people eating breakfast or lunch and feeding their families something nice and normal and fairly priced all while facing the river, the marina and the gorgeous and interesting scenery. Joggers, walkers, dragon boat paddlers(they kick ASS, lol), vagrants young and old and hotel guests & out of town visitors course by the windows of this little mom and pop style place. They have local ice cream down on one end and on the other end you order food or drinks. One of the things I LOVE about this place is that they have healthy snacks for a reasonable price(like nice ripe bananas & avocados), big bottles of water and two nice unisex bathrooms! BONUS that they love the dragon boat paddlers who frequent their restaurant. I always tip extra for the way they support the community and the fact that no one thinks it’s weird if you show up in a life vest, soaking wet, carrying a paddle to buy a banana, a huge bottle of H2O while using your waterproof phone to check in on Unilocal yet again…

Pleasant service. Bad execution. The ice cream in there, when I visited a few weeks back, was melting while still in the freezer case. The server was kind enough to keep a «tool to scrape the melted stuff off the top» around, but still– I was saddened to see no one really caring to target a solution to melting ice cream, before it’s even served. The tillamook ice cream in itself was great, but come on, I like ice cream, not a milkshake unless I ask for it :(
