What can I say, this place has my heart and is my favorite Mexican Restaurant. I’ve frequented «El Tap» since I was little and will dine here 2 – 3 times a month with friends or family. My favorite is a #19 with a flour tortilla and Barbacoa for dinner. Their Mole is also addicting. Yum Yum.

All my boyfriend would do was talk a out this place. We live in fresno and he’s from porterville. And now that I’m here I totally understand why he would always talk about it. 1st it’s awesome prices. 2nd the portions are HUGE! Like ridiculous huge. The sauce for me at first, was definitely not something I was sure about it. It is sweet but after eating my food I must say it’s different but good. We will most definitely be back even if it’s over a hour drive because now I’m a fan to.

By far the BEST mexican food around! We make the drive all the way from Visalia just to eat here. I highly recommend the chicken fajitas, flautas, and enchiladas. The red sauce they use is sweet and not for everyone but I love it! The chips and salsa are absolutely amazing as well. This place is always packed and it’s because they know what’s good and how to run a restaurant.

I usually immediately judge a Mexican restaurant by how the salsa is. Good salsa– Check. Pleasantly surprised by the meal that followed. I had the enchilada and taco. Largest taco I have ever had, and it was incredible. I will be back when I am in Porterville again.

Best Mexican food I’ve ever had! The margaritas are delicious as well (and very strong!) My favorite dishes are the barbacoa, anything with mole sauce, and the tamales. The complimentary chips and salsa are yummy as well… and the portions are ENORMOUS, so come hungry!

My oh my tamale fans! This place is the spot. And the michelada con Negra Modelo, too good! Great portions of rice and beans for the side. Great place to bring the family for a special event. They offer food to go and have a small bar. Clean restrooms and friendly staff, too!

Average food. A little bland, which is surprising for a Mexican food restaurant. I had heard great things about their guacamole, however it was just average. Yes, I’d eat here again; just wasn’t blown away. Wait staff was very attentive & friendly though!

Was with friends in Porterville, camping. On a quick trip into town for supplies, a friend recommended this place. At first I was skeptical, as we were in what seemed the middle of nowhere & was thinking to myself …
So we went in headfirst, being hungry & all. We started with appetisers. Moved into our entrees, ordered horchatas; food & service was great. Salsa is fresh, the family seems to be in the kitchen making the food; orders came out quick, entrees were hot. We really enjoyed our meal.
We left satisfied.

Garbage. The red sauce everyone was talking about? I thought it would be good because apparently it’s «authentic» to where the owners are from. It’s frickin KETCHUP! Ketchup with a little taco seasoning or something in it. I had the Jr. Deluxe burrito and it was smothered in it. So gross. The salsa was nothing special and the chips were greasy. What a disappointment.
