I went last night for my first time. Good drinks, apps and entrees. We went for some entertainment too downstairs on the patio after to see Tall Richard play. During our meal, long periods of waiting. Though we were not in a hurry, we did enjoy the time to catch up and chat. Great food but waitress needs to check on customers more. We will definately be back. Girls night out.

We have driven by Café Strega many time over the years, but never stopped in. We dropped in on Saturday and had a great experience. The Staff from the hostess, Lucy, to our waiter, Zara, were great. They all appear to want to be there. That attitude carried over to how they treat their clients. The meals were superb. My wife had the signature meat ball appetizer, with a great salad. I had the veal shoulder with pasta. It was fantastic. We did not partake in desert, but they looked great. We will definitely make this one of our regulars stops when in Plymouth.

Visiting from out of town we asked a local for some recommendations. We decided on Strega. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. Husband order the meatball appetizer and I had the carpaccio. Both were delicious. We were surprised by the size of the meatballs though. For our entrée I had the fettuccine bollanaigse(AMAZING!!)and husband had the chicken parm with penne. Cappuccino and cannoli ended the meal. It was superb. The restaurant is small and by the time we were ready to leave the space was very tight and crowded. Our server was mediocre but the hostess pick up, the slack and we we’re pleased with the whole experience.

I popped into Streaga this past Saturday night trying to get some food for my 11 month old daughter. We were staying at the John Carver across the way and were coming from a wedding a few towns over. It was past my daughter’s dinnertime and we were apprehensive about waiting to get back up to the room to call room service, unsure about how long it would take. I ordered their meatball appetizer and a side of vegetables. The manager at the host stand made sure that my order came out quickly and was very friendly while I waited. When we got back to the room my daughter ate the meatballs and some of the carrots and really enjoyed it. After she fell asleep my wife and I finished the meal off. The meatballs were great — huge, really soft and very moist. Great flavor, some of the best I have had. I am not sure when we will be back in Plymouth next, but we will definitely be in for a full meal!

Had anticipated going there for weeks and looked forward to great dining. Disappointed beyond belief. 5 of us and 3 meals not so good. Service was ok however 3 meals came out and 10 minutes later the other two were served. Very uncomfortable feeling. Pasta had no seasoning and pork chops very tough, only ate half of one and left 1and a half. Ordered night special dessert and was told it wasn’t ready yet and it was 7:15. When are the specials prepared? We would not go a second time.

We still love Café Strega, Zura, Karen and Andrea. We keep coming back because it’s one of the finest Italian restaurants in this area and Boston where we lived for 24 years. The food is always fresh and delicious. Everything from the appetizers, main courses(which we tried many of both of these categories) and their cannoli’s. I’m hooked on their chicken parmigiana but have enjoyed so many other main courses. They never disappoint. We’ll be coming back frequently!

Sister restaurant of Tuscany Tavern, also in Plymouth. The meatball appetizer is very delicious, and bread is light and airy. Unlike Tuscany Tavern, Strega has a beautiful view and a nice bar to catch a drink before or after your meal. The pasta dishes are quite good and wine list is reasonable. Try it or Tuscany Tavern!!!

Went for our anniversary based on recommendations on a Wednesday and couldn’t have been happier. Best meal I’ve ever had in this town. Service was impeccable, food was cooked perfectly. If you haven’t been here you are missing out.

Anthony Bourdain said not to go out for dinner on a Monday night. I should have listened. The first team was not in the kitchen last night at Strega and I had to send my steak back because it was very well done, not medium rare. it was a flat iron special, sliced on the bias so you just had to look at a couple cuts and know this was not medium rare. How did it get out of the kitchen on a slow night you ask. Good question! Should the server have told the chef«this won’t work» and ask it to be re-done? Or just serve it up and hope for the best? While my steak was being overcooked my friends dinner was waiting and cooling in the kitchen and was served luke warm. That had to go back, too! So, not a good night.

We dined here on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago because we were craving pasta. This was our first visit to Café Strega. The restaurant is small, but has a nice cozy atmosphere. I’m sure the view is great during the day. We had a drink at the bar and waited briefly for a table(did not make reservation). Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the Antipasto for 2 which was very good. BF had Spaghetti alle Vongole which he enjoyed. I had the Frutti di Mare which was very good. I was in the mood for a fresh, simple tomato sauce and this dish delivered. For the price, I was surprised at how much seafood was in this dish. Very good value for a very large portion. I am usually disappointed with the price vs. value at most restaurants in Plymouth, but Strega delivered a lovely meal at a great price. I will definitely return to try other dishes here.

Called late for a reservation but they easily accommodated us. Food was excellent. Our server was very pleasant and prompt. Was very good about answering my questions about wine appellation and vintage. Server didn’t know but found the answers for me. Wine selection average. Very flexible with changes we wanted to make to the standard menu offerings. Atmosphere not quiet very engaging.

Never disspointed. Personable waitstaff… delicious authentic Italian cuisine… Have been going to sister property San Pietro in Norwell for over 25 years, and ventured to Plymouth. Similar menu but not exact. Always served as ordered. Will continue to return… nice to be able to walk around town after dining. Great location.

Service was very fast and efficient. From the hostess to our waitress was all were nice and pleasant. Food was great. My husband had a penne pasta with eggplant and tomato sauce and I had eggplant parmigiana ravioli. Both were excellent. Tomato sauce was fantastic! Only problem was the noise level. There were a few groups and initially it was so noisy that it was hard to hear each other. The after dinner coffee could have been better — too weak. Since it was late I didn’t complain about it.

Has to be one of the best Italian restaurants in the area! My wife and I had dinner there a couple nights ago. Service was outstanding, the drink selection was beyond what we expected, and the food was absolutely incredible! From the fresh baked bread, to the hand tossed salad through the main course. I haven’t had the better Italian dinner anywhere in New England. I had spaghetti carbonara as good as anything that I had in Italy and my wife had the chicken marsala and it was mouth watering! We did have the tiramisu for dessert it was the only thing that I was a little disappointed with that’s why I’m giving this restaurant four stars and not five. Overall it was a wonderful experience the food was outstanding, if you haven’t tried this Rock of Italian food in Plymouth you should definitely give it a try!

Very disappointing! This used to be one of our favorite restaurants in town but sadly it has gone downhill. We think everyone deserves a second chance but the last three times we went there were total strikeouts! Not only did we wait longer than usual to get our entrees but all but one were lukewarm and dried out which made us think that the only one that tasted decent was actually the one they forgot to include in the original order! It seems like it’s becoming more and more difficult to get a good meal in town. :(

This place has the best meatballs in the world! The manager waited on us. He was so accommodating and nice! If you are looking for a nice Italian place the food is great! You have to try their meatballs, they are gigantic!

Food is amazing! Real authentic and you can taste the freshness. Our server was was preoccupied with her friends at the bar, so annoying. Poor service was overlooked so was the customary 20 percent tip. The food is so good we’ll still come back.

Very good food and service. Had the pollo saltimbocca — very good with grilled veges. Also had the penne alla Siciliana — also good.

Café Strega was a reliable favorite until we determined there was a distinct reduction in the size of pasta entrees. My wife had the Fruiti di Mare and was still hungry when she finished, so she ordered a lasagna entrée which she said was also meager. Trust me she’s never had to order two entrée’s to feel satisfied. Strega used to be our favorite, but no more.

Returned with friends. Server very friendly but slowwwwwww and a bit disorganized: for example, after she brought the soup there was a 2 minute waith for her to bring a spoon. Salads, calamarie, zuppa di mare, meatballs all okie dokie. The calamari is perfectly cooked: nice and tender. Pretty room with nice view of Plymouth Hahbah. Moderate noise level. We’ll probably go back.
