I was most interested in strolling the art booths, while the music played in the background. Talking to the artists is what always broadens my appreciation of the craft they have mastered. My best new vendors that I purchased from was OHMYQUADS.

I have gone to this festival for the past 10 years. We normally have a great time, but things were different this year. The ticket booth was in a different location, with no signage. They only had two booths on the main street, serving beer and wine. One booth the wine was so bad, I poured it out. $ 25.00 for 3 pours, and a glass isn’t cheap. We won tickets for the premium wine and beer booths, which were hikes away from each other. So my husband and I couldn’t even drink and taste together. This was new, and very silly. Again no signage we didn’t know until the end there was even a beer tent by City Hall. The people selling the tickets, are normally friendly and informative but not this year. Another issue was no restrooms. They moved the toilets, across the street away from the main venue and only had 3 toilets. They were filthy and just not enough. Perhaps the reason it felt so «dead» was how spread out everything was, the booths were awful they need to up the offerings. They bill this as a jazz fesival, but you only get one or two actual jazz bands. The bands on saturday were awful, the worse I have ever seen. With the exception of East Bay Mudd, which was the 6:30pm concert and the only reason to apparently attend this event. I hope the organizers take a good look at the venue for next year, and make some major improvements.

Great festival, enjoyed listening to «Cover to Cover» around 6:30 yesterday(Sat), my bf and I had a terrific time! Also enjoyed the art, and music most of all. Lots of people had their wine/beer tastings for a fee. Will come next year again for sure!

This weekend marks the 10th annual Pleasant Hill Art, Jazz and Wine Fest. My honey and I went yesterday and it is still going until 5:00 pm today, if you see this in time to hop over. The hours are generally the same each year, 10:00 am — 6:00 pm on Saturday(with an evening concert) and 10:00 am — 5:00 pm on Sunday. $ 25/person got us each a nice wine glass and three generous glasses of wine.(For $ 35/person you can get a glass and wine from the premium wine tent.) I can’t remember the cost for the beer tasting. I did notice that if we had bought tickets online, they are $ 5 cheaper. Next time we’ll do that for sure! We both chose the pinot gris, malbec and cab and they were all very nice. The fourth option was a chardonnay. We drank our vino while wandering through the art/craft booths. We also stopped to listen to the music and although we really enjoyed the two bands we listened to, we never heard any actual jazz. Perhaps this event should be called an Art, Music and Wine Fest? They also have a children’s area each year but we avoid it since we don’t have littles. This event is always the first weekend of October so even if you missed it, mark your calendar for next year!
