Beggars Pizza

Helpful hint — -just close the dining room. It’s not a priority in your business and it shows. I’m sure you have a good takeout/​delivery business so leave it at that. The dining room experience is terrible. Dining room was dirty, uninviting and uncomfortable. TV in dining room is basically there so they cooks can come out and check football scores. Service was basically non-​existent. It consisted of taking order, bringing food and dropping off the check. Food was ok. Crust on pizza was over cooked. Toppings were very good. Had to have a soda since no alcohol offered. Would get a pizza to carry out, would never eat there again. You are hurting the brand by having a dining room.

This review will be a pretty straightforward one regarding my dinner last night.
Pros: Pizza — good & piping hot

Service? My husband, sister, & I dined in; there was no one in the restaurant and this was about 2 hours prior to closing on a Friday night yet we still waited over an hour and a half for our pizza.
Alcohol? They don’t serve any.
Cleanliness & friendliness? Nonexistent.

I have always ordered Beggers on the south side and I have to say this one is the worst with service. I ordered a pizza and it’s been over 2 hrs when I was told 1 hr. When I called to find out what the deal is the kid on the phone was very rude.

I’m always leary about going into places that have no customers. Generally not a good sign. Maybe I’ll chalk this one up to that it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere on a Saturday night. We dined in because we had a Groupon for the dinning room. They do not serve any alcohol. Usually pizza and beer goes hand and hand but not necessary. Appetizers were just ok but the pizza was just as good as I had before. I would highly recommend the pizza. Stuffed and deep dish takes an additional 50 minutes. We just got the thin crust. The dining room can use a little bit of deeper cleaning. Overall I would and will go back.

I love deep dish pizza so I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered deep dish sausage. It was full of flavor, had a crispy flavorful crust and generous amounts of Italian sausage. The sauce was not overly sweet but robust.
The dine in experience was average. The dining area was clean, but a bit uninviting. Seating is uncomfortable and bland. The waitress was friendly and attentive to our needs. There is one TV set and can’t be seen from all tables. This place serves no alcohol. It’s not built for an enjoyable dine in experience.
This may be a good take out or delivery meal.

Pizza is missing taste. A lot of cheese does not make up for lacking taste and horrible service. Side orders where ready pizza was not. So obviously when the pizza was ready 20 minutes later the side orders were ice cold and uneatable. Unless you like cold greasy cheese fries. To sum things up, if you like to wait 20 minutes later than told for your tasteless very cheesy pizza and ice-​cold sides this is the place for you. I on the other hand will not return.

I love their pizza but the service is terrible!!! The guy Carlos is so damn rude. Is there anyway some one can fire his ass.

I liked it! I had to drive 14 miles round trip from Naperville, but thought I got a good pie. My wife who typically is picky and doesn’t like deep dish, really enjoyed it. Our pizza almost had too much cheese if that’s possible. I would say its not as good as Beggars downtown, but still decent. Would try again!

Love their food and been coming since they opened. However, this was my first time trying their lunch hour. service was ok. all of their lights and TVs were off. Felt awkward the whole time. The person who attended us looked like he rolled right out if bed. Very uninviting.

Worried about ordering from there. Was our favorite. Delivery lady (older) claimed to fall on our steps. We actually saw her and it was completely faked. Then filed a claim. Our word against hers. What’s a person to do?

Service was terrible. I ordered for my husband & his friends. I think the guy that answered the phone’s name was Carlos, and I’m pretty sure he hates his life. He was so rude. And when I went to pick up my food, they have a sign that says «sign up for our VIP text alerts & get $ 5 off your order». I signed up, got a text that said «shower mention this text for $ 5 off», and Carlos looked at me like I was crazy, pretended to take $ 5 and charged me the same price I was originally told. Scumbag.

Ordered New Years Eve and my entire order was wrong!!! Owner was really really rude! Informed me that all her girls wanted to do was go home! Maybe they should have just stayed closed instead of staying open to 9pm on New Years Eve. Cook had several scabs on his arm and just really grossed me out! Not ordering from here again! Owner should realize we are not in her native Poland!!!

Horrible service. From the manager to the receptionist. Just bad! Pizza was just average undercooked. If you like plenty of cheese they will give you that but taste is not good. Sauce is below average. Go in and ask for a menu and you will laugh because they don’t carry them. Call in and you will be greeted with rude receptionist ask to speak to a manager and it just gets worse.

Ordered a sausage and cheese pizza from here. I’m not big on thick cheese so we ordered it with light cheese, fries and an order of wings. The pizza tastes awful. The lady at the counter said we would love it. But instead we end up returning the whole order as the chicken was dry and the fries were very greasy. The pizza tasted as if they used cheap cheese. It was also a family size pizza and it was the size of a medium. We will not be returning. Try Vita Bella or Rosatis. You won’t be disappointed there like at Beggars.

Awesome pizza every time we order and great prices too! I will definitely keep ordering from them.

Today was my first time ordering from here. We ordered a medium thin crust with sausage, green peppers, onions and mushrooms. Also, two kids size cheese pizzas. Our Pizza was mediocre. Really lacked in taste. The kids pizzas came in the white paper bags, and because they stacked them, the paper was stuck to the cheese. We had to throw half of one away because we couldn’t separate the paper from the cheese. Garlic cheese bread was cold and hard. Lacked all flavor. One of the worst pizza experiences I’ve ever had. They told me they would credit me for future orders, but I’ll pass. I will not be giving them my money again.

If you like a lot of cheese on your Pizza, this is the place to go. It’s not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it is certainly not the worst. I won’t avoid going back, I’m just not sure I would have it on my list of places to go when asked for an opinion.

I will never return to this Beggar’s unless they get new management and new employees. I didn’t even speak to a manager but I assume that they’re no good for hiring these bogus employees.
1: there was one girl working and the other girl was just getting off I guess and they were having a conversation when I came in and did not rush to assist me and when I first came in they acted as if they didn’t know African-​Americans existed in that area or ate Beggar’s pizza… Like I was strange for coming to pick up my food in the middle of your convo, no, you’re strange for not doing your job!
2: I had a simple carryout order. And when the girl finally did ask about my order she was not friendly at all and was very slow to get the food and take my money.
3: Their pizza did not taste as good as other Beggar’s (such as the Oak Forest or Blue Island locations). Save yourself the disappointment and find a different location to go to.
In conclusion: Don’t waste your time or money here.

Ordered the Thin Crust pizza on a saturday night, with an order of cheese sticks.
Delivery took FOREVER. Hour and 15. Anything more than an hour is unacceptable.
The actual pizza wasn’t bad. They say they lay it on thick, and it’s true. Good amount of cheese on the pie. Cheese sticks were okay, the dipping sauce wasnt typical marinara sauce, so that was a downgrade.
Just average at best. I’m from the western burbs, where there are plenty more options, but I wanted to give Beggars a shot. I’ll eventually try their stuffed or deep dish, and give a final verdict, but nothing too impressive about this place.
