Toulouse is a wonderful place to visit. The last time we were there was 4 years ago when it was still a barn and the tables were wine barrels. I was delighted to see that the tasting room is now enclosed so there is AC on hot days. The people serving there were incredibly nice and also helpful with recommending restaurants and other cool places to visit. The wines, as always, were wonderful. My favorite wines were the 2014 Gewurtztraminer and the 2013 Oppenlander Pinot Noir.

It had been a few years since we stopped at Toulouse Winery. Since our last visit they have opened their new tasting room. Of the best, if not the best view of the valley from there. I have always been a fan of their wines and in doing the tasting again, was still very impressed. I think my favorite was the 2013 Pinot. The ladies that hosted the tasting room couldn’t have been any nicer/pleasant. We will be back. They even have neat wine bottle toppers(for pouring win out of) that have animal heads as the theme. Pretty cool addition to your wine accessories! We got the Rhino! Stop by here. you will enjoy!

One of the best views! Out on their front deck truly offers some amazing scenery. The wines were all very good! The cabs were our favorite, ended up buying one. They are dog friendly(on a leash). Definitely a place to stop!

Loved our visit. Great wines at very reasonable prices. Nice mix of varietals gives a good representation of the diversity of Mendocino. Service was great. Easy going vibe and dog-friendly. And that view from the hilltop deck? I would never get tired of that.

We came here after having a stellar tasting at Lula Cellars. I’m not sure if was that we had such a great time at the first tasting, but sadly Toulouse didn’t stand up in our opinion. The tasting room itself is very big with beautiful windows and a large bar. They also have lots of tables in there too. The woman pouring our wine was not too helpful in describing the wines. More the type to pour and walk away. I wasn’t too impressed with any of the wines and no one in our party of four felt compelled to buy a bottle. They do have a beautiful deck that you can picnic on, which we did. I loved eating my sandwich out there while taking in the beautiful scenery. Overall I’m glad we paid Toulouse a visit, but I don’t think I would make it a point to come back again.

We enjoyed our wine tasting here this afternoon. The winery has a great deck with a lovely view – a good spot for pictures. There was a winery parrot and tolerant doggie who kept the kids occupied. I give their gewurztraminer, that had some unusual tropical hints like pineapple and papaya, a thumbs up. We appreciated being able to bring our dog in the winery with us when we did the tasting.

A lovely winery with an awesome laid-back atmosphere and free tastings. The pours were generous and our server, knowledgeable through and through. While the pinot noir wasn’t nearly as good as I had anticipated, I was thoroughly impressed with the whites especially the pinot gris. Beyond knowing her stuff, our server was kind enough to pour a few extra offerings including a vineyard designate pinot and late harvest white riesling. Great tasting experience overall and the whites were absolutely worth stocking up on given the quality and price.

A true gem in the heart of Anderson Valley. A brought a large group of 20 here to taste a couple of months ago. Due to the size of our group, Rita set us up on the outdoor patio around the picnic tables. She set out delicious cheddar crackers, carafes of water, and spit buckets for us as well(although the wine was so good, nobody dared to waste it). The Rose and the Estate Pinot in particular were some of my favorites. Both Rita and Larissa were incredibly accommodating and efficient, making their way around to each group, pouring and explaining each wine, and answering questions. Vern Boltz(winemaker) even made his way out and said hi to everyone, and offered up some of Toulouse’s sparkling wine — which is not on the tasting list — to cap the tasting off. Top to bottom, these guys are fantastic. The setting is incredible, the ambiance is casual and welcoming, and the wines are stellar to boot. Great location, great people, great wine — what’s not to love?

The wine was delicious. We really liked the gewurztraminer(which we took home to have with spicy thai food) and pinots! That being said… I WISH I could remember the girl’s name who helped us last Monday afternoon(from Santa Cruz). She was incredible; so friendly, helpful, down to earth, and welcoming. We’re fairly new to the wine scene, and she made us feel so comfortable where other wineries were snobby and curt. SOTHANKYOU! You made this vineyard the highlight of our wine-tasting tour and we’ve already sent a few people your way :) Looking forward to another visit soon.

This was by far my favorite vineyard and my favorite wine we had while in the area. The vineyard is beautiful, the tasting room airy and light-filled and the wine fabulous. While I wanted to leave with multiple cases, we decided transporting a few bottles of the Pinot and Shiraz was much more efficient. Those two are the stars for me in an incredible line up of wines — the whites are especially elegant and dry, and I’m not usually a fan of white wines in general. The staff is lovely and well-schooled in every aspect of this wine and vineyard. I probably could have hung out there all day, given the chance!

They say you never forget your first… wine club, that is. After many visits to Toulouse, it just seemed right to put a ring on it. Just read the reviews of this Sonoma County gem. Between the Vern, the lovely ladies in the tasting room, two big dogs whose collars distinctly read«Do Not Feed Me»(but still beg for food anyway), pretty views from the tasting room deck, and some of the most beautiful Pinot Noir in the valley, what’s not to like? What appealed to me about this particular wine club was the low level of commitment. Six bottles(mix of red/white) twice a year seems more than OK. Heck, we probably buy that much on regular visits anyway. At less than $ 200 per shipment, it’s not a bad deal at all! Love the casual atmosphere that is found around Boonville/Philo, business owners are warm and friendly. No big bachelor(ette) parties arriving in limos with purple-stained teeth. Generally it’s not too crowded. And prices are reasonable. Pretty much the opposite of Napa… Look for the Toulouse Goose the next time you’re driving up the rural roads of this area. A tasting won’t cost you much and the varietals will blow your mind.

Great wine, great atmosphere, a pretty awesome dog that just kind of hangs out outside, and super friendly owners and workers. There is a $ 5 tasting fee that is waived with purchase. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular at this winery.

I’m a beer snob, not a wine snob, but I am a bit fussy about what wine I like. Only the petite syrah had much appeal for me, which was an «extra» on the tasting list. Still, the venue is pretty nice, even if the hostesses were a bit over-animated. No food here, apart from the crackers, which are probably not vegan. No beer of course. Probably a great place to walk around/get a tour if you have time.

We recently visited Toulouse with our dog and were pleasantly surprised with the new tasting room(I believe it’s been around for 6 months). The staff here has always been very friendly and we’ve had a great time tasting here. The first time we were here, my husband was told that he could take our dog to a hollowed out tree on the property… they both loved it! The wine tasting experience was very nice. They give you these tasty cheese crackers to munch on while tasting. Tasting is only $ 5, but it is waived if you buy wine. The last time we were there, the gal pouring for us was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the wines(I think her name may have been Alice?). She even took our photo on their nice outdoor patio overlooking Anderson Valley(see my photos). We really like the whites in Anderson Valley, but the Pinot Noir from Toulouse is really good too. Wines we’ve purchased: Lautrec Pinot Noir(currently on sale), Estate Pinot Noir, Gewurtztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Muscat. Toulouse is a great spot for wine tasting with a very friendly staff. The atmosphere is very casual and our dog loves going there. We will definitely make the trek out at least once a year to visit!

It’s all slow, easy, porch-living days here at ultra chill, country charmed Toulouse. Indeed, you do come up the hilly driveway path to get«too loose» here. With views PLUS a Pinot Blanc without having to make the trip up to Oregon, winner! Tastings used to be free here. Some large parties used and abused, drank too much and bought nothing, and now the tasting fee is a grand ol’ $ 5. Liked many of their wines, but no more Pinot purchases for us, thanks. Can Can Blanc(blend 70% pinot gris, 30% Riesling) is what they call it. Beautiful in the mouth, nice white. Grabbed. The view off of their deck behind tasting counter is worth a quiet moment or two. Great to be located on a hill. Tess and other dog on property as friendly and relaxed as can be. Free pet therapy along with fun and non-pretentious wine tasting!

Who needs Napa with their $ 20 tastings and LA crowds when you can have gorgeous scenery, and laid back farmers pouring you free tastings in Anderson Valley? After the amazingly chill, sunny, and lushy Alsace Fest weekend, I’m sending all my cork dork friends to Boonville from now on. This is wine country as it should be — country! Toulouse was the happenin’ place during the Sunday winery open house event, and it’s a good thing our local tour guide sent us here because you’d never know what an oasis awaits from the looks of their roadside branding(a small wood sign with a cartoon goose saying ‘Too Tense? Toulouse!’). We ventured up the dirt road to their barn style tasting room with it’s newly expanded deck overlooking the vineyards and valley. Wow, it was one of those moments where words aren’t necessary, only turning your face to the bright blue sky and breathing in that refreshing air of contentment. Hearty welcomes were offered immediately, and the owner, Vern, walked around pouring wine into people’s glasses as they wandered the grounds. It was the most down-to-earth VIP experience ever. More friendly women were pouring samples in the barn, and a local chef was giving a lesson in wine tasting with the help of her custom-made aroma box. Of course, there was an entire valley of tasting rooms to explore, but after lounging at the picnic tables, chatting with new acquaintances, and sipping a fresh pinot gris alongside a platter of coconut curry mussels… I wanted to stay here all day. And next time I will.
