In town on a business trip and wanted to some good seafood… this place was good enough for the price. Ordered the Seafood Platter which included fried shrimp, oysters, fish and stuffed crab, shrimp coleslaw, hushpuppies, fritter and a side item(I opted for cheese grits). The seafood part was pretty good, but the cheese grits and shrimp coleslaw I could have done without. Overall it was good, but nothing special.

2nd Tuesday Oyster special is so great! Food is fantastic always and service was beyond phenomenal! Thank you for another superior dining experience. Plates for oysters would be nice as we had to eat off of paper towels, but we are in the South and I guess this is the ultimate in casual.

Dog friendly outside seating. In from out of town it was nice to have lunch and not leave my dog in the hotel or kennel

We chose to visit here on a whim while traveling back to Louisiana. Just going by the name I expected it to be like Long John Silvers… way wrong. We walk in and of course at first notice that this is not a fast food restaurant, but a sit down restaurant with a bar.(+1 for me right there because I was tired of the typical chain fast food) We were seated and unfortunately had to wait a little bit to put in our drink order, but wasn’t mad once we realized our waitress was the one we saw running to about 8 other tables. The menu is predominately shrimp(given the name of course), but they did have some alternatives on there like fish and red beans and rice. I noticed a dish that included spicy grilled catfish and shrimp étouffée(+1 for me again, because that was what I wanted but was doubtful that it would come from outside of my state) and ordered that. The boyfriend ordered fried shrimp; he didn’t know what to expect from a seafood restaurant that isn’t in cajun country. We both enjoyed our entrees very much, mine was exactly what I wanted. The only regret I have is the side I chose, shrimp coleslaw. I just figured it was a play on the restaurant name, but it acutally had bits of shrimp in it and that made it a little wierd. The boyfriend had red beans for his side and they were just like from home. A+

We went for their All-You-Can-Eat shrimp on Sunday. It’s popcorn shrimp, which isn’t too bad. I liked the cheese grits, coleslaw, and hush puppies. We saw an advertisement in the magazine at our hotel that said $ 10.99, but the price is now $ 11.99. It was still worth it.

Probably a good spot for people with small children– but I couldn’t help but think that it would be a good candidate for Restaurant Impossible. It had the makings of a good time but… Just a few tips– when serving shellfish please provide an extra plate and maybe some hand wipes Serve the gumbo hot The staff was friendly enough but the restaurant seemed very disorganized. Food was ok. Shrimp coleslaw was good

Advertises all you can eat fried shrimp on Sunday and Wednesday but it is popcorn shrimp. The pic on the table card shows regular shrimp with tails. Mostly it is small shrimp. Not the shrimp balls like at Walmart. The shrimp slaw served with it is excellent and the service is great and attentive.

Little leery of a chain going into it, but we were tired and didn’t want to dress up for dinner. We really were pretty happy – the oysters were good, he liked his catfish and the gumbo was really good. Service, tho’? A little sketchy. He brought one thing that I hadn’t ordered instead of what I had ordered, and completely forgot my okra side and dish of lemons – when I pointed that out to him, he put the order it, but hey, hon, we’re done now, why would I want it now. He simply had no personality at all, but hey, the food was OK.

I ordered the Steamed Shrimp and it was rubbery and seemed old. The wife had a POBOY that she said was good. The service was fine.

The food was ok, but the service was horrible! First the waiter forgot to bring the sauces after saying he will bring them back right away, I can understand if you forget but for the rest of the time he didn’t came by the table to see if everything was ok or to check to make sure if we got everything, I tried to make eye contact with him but he never came by, eventually I had to wave my hands like I was in elementary school until he came by

Terrible service like a lot of others have said. Nothing special about the place. Got the grilled shrimp basket and I got one small fritter and one hush puppy. Lot of better places for seafood.

Shrimp basket at Davis Hwy was nice and friendly. Just expect your basic sit in diner experience-nothing fancy here. Got the steamed shrimp platter. Shrimp and potatoes were awesome. The tarter sauce was money! Skip the crab cakes. I admit crab cakes are hard to do but these were tasteless and the sauce was a Tabasco based oily mess. My dinner companions all said the crawfish étouffée was FAB! I love to try food when i’m on vaca and if you are in pensacola looking at Unilocal reviews, try the shrimp basket over The Fish House.

I must say I was so disappointed :(I am a huge foodie, so I definatly know my food. I was so excited to try this place out after reading the reviews and maybe this place is good by «Pensacola standards» but it nothing to brag about«south Florida standards«if that makes sense. I ordered the shrimp and grits with a side of hush puppies. Let me start off by stating that my meal came WAY too fast. .. There is no way it was freshly made !! The grits were overly cheesy and buttery … Saturated actually! The shrimp tasted as if it was microwaved. They were so chewy and rubbery feeling. As for the hush puppies I’ve had much better and fish in hook which is literally a fast food chain like mcdonalds … So that should say something. Only reason I will rate w two stars is per the service and cleanliness. I will not be back.

Came to Pensacola to meet a dog breeder from texas for our pup. We wanted to find something close by but also not a chain restarurant. And I wanted seafood :) So le beau and I stopped here for a bite to eat before we meet our pup. I ordered blackened catfish po boy with a side of their stuffed crab and shrimp skewer. Which was very good and filling. I ended up eating half of the sandwich and only the fish from the other half. Fresh and not fishy tasting as well. The stuff crab was okay nothing special and perfectly flavored and not overly salty. The shrimp skewer was delicious though. Shrimp is super fresh tastes like it just came from the water and seasoned very well and not overcooked. The size of the shrimp were good too they weren’t tiny how some restaurants serve. Le beau ordered the fried shrimp po boy and it was good. Basic bo boy nothing special. Came with a good amount of shrimp as well. You can also double protein for extra price but not by much I think like 2 $. Also we ordered raw oysters for appetizers fairly good price for a dozen. They shuck it for you and take it off the sticky thing(I dont know what its called). So easy slurping. They were very fresh not briney(although I like the briney ones, more flavor). Overall they were a great place for quick eats. Nothing fancy.

I can’t see any reason why I should give this place less than 5 stars. I’ve been to Shrimp Basket at another location, but this one takes the prize. Food was not too salty, tasted great, and wasn’t burnt in any way. Customer service is stellar! Either the manager or owner was awesome, friendly and cared for his customers. Will be back again and again!

Stopped here after the baseball game on the way up to Alabama. Ordered the«pick 3» combo and chose fish, shrimp and scallops. It came with hush puppies and fries as well as their shrimp coleslaw. Total was just over $ 17.00. Food was really good! It was a tad skimp though for the price. It filled me up but it comes with 5 or so scallops, 5 or so shrimp and 3 small pieces of fish. Its way better than a fast food type seafood place but not as good as a nice sit down restaurant. The food was about 3 stars. The 4 stars is because of the service. I am truly amazed at how nice everyone down South is. My waitress had a huge smile on her face the whole time there. She kept checking on me and genuinely cared that I enjoyed my meal. She even offered up a to go cup for a soda when I was about to leave.(I have noticed that a few times now… they love to offer to go cups down here which is freaking awesome!) She was as nice as can be and made the whole time I was there enjoyable!
