Great new owner, lovely staff, really really clean restrooms, this looks a lot like a mom and pop style place, Pensacola needs more places like this!

I loved it! The previous owners had let this place slide for a few years. My friend told me it had new owners and that it was great food, so I went back yesterday with my family. Our food was awesome, server was very friendly, and we even meet the owner. I will definitely come back again soon!

Terrible service, actually we got NOSERVICE. My wife and I sat down and waited for 10 mins and a server never came to our table for our drink order or anything. Then a large group walks in and puts two tables together and the server goes right up to them and takes their drink order so im thinking«oh great now we have to wait forever for drinks» so I said forget this place and we got up and left. Fu*k you a&&holes for wasting my time and pissing me off. I am not going to flag down a server I will leave. I will NEVER be back and hope you the worst of luck in your restaurants future.

The first time we went it was good, so we went back… mainly for the biscuits. The server told us to help ourselves to the buffet but the eggs and sausage were empty and there were NO biscuits. I asked when they would be refilled and another waitress snapped at me that«it will be a LONG time!» We waited(and waited) while nibbling on bacon and pancakes. We were still waiting on biscuits when they started the lunch buffet. Suddenly, my boyfriend had to run to the restroom and puke.(Sorry, but it’s true). At that point I was over it. Then we got the bill. Nothing was right. The math was so wrong it seemed like our server just chose numbers at random. The actual total ended up being $ 10 less. We will not be going back a third time. Bye-bye biscuits! =/

My wife and I have been exploring various breakfast locations in Pensacola on the weekends. As far as Oscar’s is concerned, I give it a 3 of 5 because it meets my expectations of a standard breakfast. There are some pluses — old school décor, older staff, affordable pricing with good food portions. My wife had the buffet and was satisfied with the offerings. The only downside is the white gravy was more soupy than we like — we were looking for something thicker to go with the very tasty biscuits. I had pancakes with grits and received large portions for both. The pancakes were light and fluffy with good syrup and tons of butter. The grits were piping hot but had some big lumps in them and was fairly soupy as well. Not a deal breaker, but I prefer a thicker bowl. All in all, not a bad place to get a good sized meal but not a place that knocks your socks off.

So, don’t be taken back by the appearance on this one. I looked at the Buffet and almost decided to try something else. However, I am glad that I trusted the Unilocal raters. It is all homemade and taste like my grandparent’s eggs, gravy and biscuits and sides. Pancakes are awesome too!

Great local spot! Breakfast buffet is delicious and very inexpensive. If you’re in the mood for grits, bacon, and maybe even some streak-o-lean, this place should not be missed. Walking through the doors harkens back to 1965 but the buffet is kept fresh.

Ok, So this place wasn’t that bad… The wait staff just flat out sucks… It was like twisting the lady’s arm asking for some hot sauce that was not Tabasco. Now for $ 6.40 for the buffet I have to say it was well worth the price because the bacon was great and thick. the fruit was cold. The eggs however look like they burned in the pan they cooked them in. The gravy for the biscuit was very bland but yet the biscuit itself was fantastic. This place I think would benefit from either Younger Management or Restaurant impossible coming in and updating. «the lady at the front desk was using a typewriter» Would I go back here? MAYBE i do like buffets BUT eh. The wife did say the pancakes and french toast were very tasty though. But how do you mess that up? Oh yea the wife and I dropped the average age in this place by like 10 years since everyone was at least 70+ including some of the staff.

Fantastic southern breakfast! Order off the menu. I highly recommend sausage patties or links, grits, biscuits, and eggs over easy. Or just eat from the fantastic buffet. Definitely squewed towards oldsters but that’s just because hipsters haven’t invaded. This is straight up old skool!

Old school. Great pancakes, great service. They have fantastic fresh daily special’s. Not fancy inside but all of the good is good enough.
