Today my wife and wanted sushi for my birthday so we decided to try Ra Sushi in Pembroke Pines for the first time. We went on Monday night around 7pm. The décor and ambiance were nice. We asked to be seated at a booth so we could have a little privacy but we were told that the booths were only for larger parties. That would have been a reasonable explanation except that three of the large booths only had two people in them(we have pics of this) and one remained empty during our entire meal(there were also 8 – 9 empty tables so seating wasn’t an issue). So we sat at a table in the middle of the noisy dining room. We both ordered a ginger peach tea that sounded delicious. A few minutes later the waitress came back and told us that, at 7pm on a Monday night, they were out of tea. We ordered two rolls each. The rolls were okay … we both think that for all the atmosphere that was created there that the sushi should have been much better. We have had much better sushi rolls at much less well known restaurants. Overall, we will not be going back again. We wanted some good food and a nice, quiet dinner where a husband and wife could celebrate a birthday. We ate okay sushi at a table in the middle of a noisy restaurant and just did not enjoy any of the experience. It is a shame…

Maybe I came here on a bad day but the service was terrible. We walked in and it took the hostess 5 minutes to address us. When she finally did, she gave us our menus and sat us down. Look, I know it seems a little bit dramatic to write that out but I am a stickler for great customer service. Having worked at Macy’s during the busiest time of the year(Christmas) I made it my goal to greet people and assure them that they will receive the help they need. I am very picky about that. The fact that we stood there and nobody addressed us because they were talking amongst each other was very annoying So after we sat down, Our waiter Rick greeted us and we placed our order. Everything was going fine until I realized that our waiter never came back. We ordered a couple of appetizers and our table was starting to look like a dirty sink full of dishes. That’s another pep peeve of mine. Check on us! We had to signal another waiter to receive a refill and get the mountain of plates. We finally got our food but my sister didn’t like her scallop sushi and my cousin had no wasabi or ginger on her plate. Anyway we had to call another waiter(who I’m assuming is the manager) help change my sisters order and get the ginger and wasabi for my cousin who ordered a shrimp tempura. Rick is still missing. Then BOOM a waiter dropped all of the food behind our table and some of it splattered on us. Sighs. Nothing but a swipe and she apologized but still. My waiter disappeared and now we have soy sauce on our arms. Rick finally showed up with more drinks and my sister placed an order for the yaki soba. It came, we ate what was left of our food and left. Maybe it was just a bad day for them but they were not attentive and it’s not cheap to eat there. I don’t know what happened to this place but I hope better training happens for this joint.

The food is not awful, but its not good. It seems like sushi for people who do not really like sushi. I have been here once for lunch and once for dinner. During the lunch the sitting outside was ok, but the service that day was awful. It was slow, the woman messed up our orders and forgot things. I did appreciate that she was friendly. Coming here for dinner there was a really long wait, while I saw tables sitting empty the entire time. There is a large«open» seating area that you can just kind of fight over with people, but once you snag a table, you have to wait for someone to notice you to wipe down the table and get a menu. The waitress I had this evening was very nice and was trying her best, but I think they have that large«free» seating area understaffed. The food is really overpriced and just not very good. This is crappy level sushi, almost all rolls have spicy or sauces or cooked fish in them or imitation crab. Not worth the money or the wait or the unpleasant loud music.

recently ate here and were greeted and seated as soon as we entered. service was a tad slow, waited a bit to get greeted after we had sat. We got water as our first round and pork gyoza as our appetizer; both came quick and the gyozas were absolutely delicious! we then ordered 3 different rolls. 2 of them came, mine and my brother in laws. By the time the other one came which was my sisters, we had already finished eating ours so that was disappointing that she had to wait. Last, the music they play doesn’t go at all with the ambience and set up. They play club music. Personally, not our taste when dining atleast. Besides that, the rolls were on point.

This spot is just average. If you want to get together with some friends late evening on Sunday and Pembroke Pines is your center point then this might be a good spot with their happy hour menu. The sushi is average, presentation was off, and drinks are weak.

This place gets worse and worse every time we go! The meal took 3 hours with awful service. The waitress may have come by our table 4 times tops while we just waited and waited and waited. Was kind of crazy, even the bill took 35 mins to get. The sushi was not fresh and came out at different times which was awkward. The scallop dynamite roll came out 45 mins after our other rollever ordered. Drinks weren’t strong for happy hour. Bothered me too that a sink was broken in the bathroom and running and wasting water. Just a bust all together! Won’t be back unless a friend begs me, there are better places to try.

I came for brunch and had a nice time. I had the chicken teriyaki sliders which were pretty good and As a ginger lover I enjoyed the ginger mimosa so much! The ginger made it perfect I took away the acidity of the orange juice. The tamagoyaki was pretty good the cracked egg seems a bit much but it was surprisingly good. For desert I had a crème brûlée a bit too much milk for my taste but still good. I gave it four stars because the service can improve, my writer had too many tables to attend to.

When RA opened in Pembroke Gardens everyone in the neighborhood was thrilled. It was difficult to get in especially for happy hour in the bar area. The food was always great and the service top notch. I had not been in for about a year(since I live about 30 minutes from there now) and was excited to return… So disappointed ! The service was just average at best with no system. By that I mean — they usually ask you for a drink, then they offer menus, then they lay down the napkin etc. felt Ike the bartenders were just going through the motion .The system was different for every person at the bar. The counters had not been cleaned and the restaurant just looked run down I ordered a roll that I have had there 10 times and in addition to not being tasty, the salmon was either bad or not prepared properly. I told the waiter and they took it off my bill I will say the spring rolls were as good as ever… I will give it another try next week when I’m near the area but I was very sad to see that it wasn’t as good as it was in the past

This place gets three stars because their drink special is the bomb! If you’re just trying to get your drink on come here during happy hour and on a Sunday. It’s always poppin on Sunday! The food is ok, the sushi rolls are tiny and the wait is always long. We were a party of 20 and our table was not ready at the time we made the reservations for. We also requested tables that wouldn’t get separate but we ended up in the back with the round table and the square tables making it uncomfortable for the people sitting at the end of the round table and the beginning of the square tables.

Although the sushi was good, the service was horrid. Late on everything. We all got our apps and food and our one friend finally got hers at the end. We ordered drinks that never came. It was towards the end of the night not at closing so service should have been better. Probably won’t return, the one in Miami is far better. Also there were 6 kids 8 – 11 yrs old messing around by the bar area, as their parents were drinking at the bar. These kids were practically knocking down the patrons playing rough. That alone was annoying. Staff needs to step it up. This was at 10pm

Great spot for lunch or dinner. Location is in Pembroke gardens shopping plaza. Great place to go after walking around this outdoor shopping mall. Lots of free parking. Happy hour specials. Full service bar. My favorite sushi combo is the Viva Las Vegas rolls, & «RA“CKIN roll Viva Las Vegas: Crab and cream cheese rolled in rice and seaweed topped with a plantain chip & a little sweet potato mash on top of each roll. Sweet eel sauce gives it the perfect dose of delectable. RAckin roll: delicious combination of cream cheese & crab topped with guacamole & yummy tempura shrimp. The Ginger teriyaki sauce gives it a nice kick of flavor. Both rolls have a sweet crunch to it. My go to cocktails are the blushing geisha & the dragon bite. The dragon bite is a pink dragon berry flavored drink infused with absolut citron, strawberry, & a splash of soda. The blushing geisha is a cold lemonade mixed with sky raspberry vodka, & black raspberry liqueur. Sunday nights here were my weekend girls night tradition for a couple years, the live DJ, & loungey atmosphere make it the perfect place to unwind.

Came here for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed. The place was definitely impressive but the service is hit or miss. Our food took forever to arrive! I enjoyed my sushi so much and tried a little bit of their miso soup which was very yummy. I ordered a california roll and crunchy calamari tempura roll. I honestly couldn’t get enough of the sweet eel sauce. Will definitely be coming again soon to try out some more sushi!

I’ve always loved RA they have delicious food and I like the ambience of this place. I usually go to the one down south but I was hanging out with my family in broward so we decided to check out this one. This one was less hectic and I thought this place was bigger. I loved the outside seating they had set up. The happy hour menu was promising because they had a variety of everything on their menu. I’m in love with their Viva Las Vegas roll it’s delicious. I also tried their spicy shrimp miso soup, it was my first time ordering it and I was quite impressed by the taste I wasn’t expecting it to be that good but I would order it again when I go back. The service was good too. Overall I have nothing negative to say about my experience with this place it’s great for date nights or girls nights !!

I’ve been to this restaurant many times and I always enjoy myself. It’s one of my favorite sushi restaurants. I used to especially love this place during my «party years» & would often indulge in their Tsunami punch bowl but since I’ve outgrown those days I haven’t been in a while. Until this past Sunday me and my friends decided to go out to Pembroke Gardens and we sat outside on their patio and enjoyed their Sunday happy hour specials, which I used to love. There drinks are awesome! I had the blushing geisha. Me and my bestfriend shared the las vegas rolls, the crunchy calamari roll plus 2 orders of the pineapple wontons because they were just that good. This place is still consistent in food quality, and the atmosphere is great.

When ever I am in need to get my sushi fix, RA Sushi is always at the top of my list. I have gone several times and I’ve never been disappointing. The service might not be the best you will ever have, but the rolls sure make up for it. They have special menus for happy hour and you can still get some specialty rolls at the happy hour price. RA is very popular and busy during peak times so expect to wait. I have learned over the years to go during off peak times for a better experience. Music is loud, dim lighting with lots of red. The place pops and makes for a great spot to celebrate special events or just hangout with friends and family. Here are some of my favorite items: «RA“CKIN’ ROLL. You want to get your taste buds blown up? Are you a fan of crab and shrimp? Get this roll. It has crab and cream cheese rolled in a tempura batter. It is topped with guacamole and«RA“ckin shrimp. VIVALASVEGASROLL. This is probably my favorite roll that I get every time and it is one of Ra’s restaurant favorites. It has crab and cream cheese rolled in rice and seaweed, lightly tempura battered and topped with spicy tuna, crab mix and sliced lotus root. I never had lotus root before, but they taste similar to a chip and look cool standing high on top of the roll. PINEAPPLECHEESEWONTONS. No matter where I go, cream cheese wontons are always part of my order for appetizer. These wantons always come out nice and hot, fresh and full of flavor. I know it is simple, but it is great. I love their roasted pineapple dipping sauce.

RA sushi has definitely improved over the years. I used to get mediocre service for over priced sushi, but now my experience has change 180 degrees. Not only is the music not as loud anymore, but the service has improved significantly. The employees hold the door for you before you walk into the restaurant and the host greets you warmly and asks for your preference of seating! They have a self-seated area which are the hightop cocktail tables which are both inside and outside as well-as a standard dining hall area which the host shows you too. If you’re in a rush to get in and out of the restaurant, go for the cocktail tables. Now for the actual food. Though some items can be a bit salty such as the chicken yakisoba and chicken teriyaki, some dishes are quite amazing. Clam udon: I would say it’s a fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine. The flavor is creamy but light and savory. I definitely recommend add shrimp to the dish for a more«seafood medley» experience. Crazy Monkey Roll: A significantly different roll from other sushi restaurants. This roll has mango, smoked salmon, avocado, and cream cheese in it. At first glance, you might not think much of it, but the combination of all these flavors are superb! It’s just the right amount of sweetness and tangy-ness. It’s served with unagi sauce and a sweet mango glaze. A must try. Cinnamon Gelato Tempura: If there’s one thing that’s good in this restaurant this would be it. I’ve come to RA just to eat the dessert before. The outside is a lightly breaded pound cake with a cinnamon ice cream on the inside. The contrast between the warm-crunchiness of the pound cake and sweet coldness of the ice cream are perfection!!! Don’t leave without at least trying this! The portion is a bit large, so you want to share with 2 – 3 people.
