Another great Unilocal find. Fairly unobtrusive setting in a local strip mall, not sure what to expect. The Thai food we dined on was outstanding. The red curry duck amongst the best Thai duck we’ve ever had. We will be back!

Service was ok. The waitress came by but then disappeared and I think the sushi chef or chef was serving us. There was no on else but us in the place that day. So it was strange she just disappeared. My husband didn’t enjoy his cashew chicken meal. It was a little blah! The sushi was also just alright not a big deal. Didn’t get a refill the whole time. Good I didn’t order anything spicy.

I visited today, having seen this place many times while going to the Greek place next door. I must say I’m rather impressed with it. I had the Pad Thai with a tuna tataki and my friends had a steak bento box and an order of gyoza and sashimi, and for dessert the Thai donuts. We are sushi and Thai lovers, so trying something new is sometimes nerve-racking and usually doesn’t end up well. We were pleasantly surprised. The fish was so fresh! The tuna and the salmon sashimi blew us away. I have had Pad Thai almost everywhere in So. Fla and this place did not disappoint, I only wish they would put more sauce, it is a bit dry for my taste, but everyone likes their Pad Thai a certain way. I didnt try the bento box, but my companions have nothing bad to say about it. The Thai donuts were good, not something I would rave about. The sauce they come with, now that is great! The service was a bit slow and I wouldnt come here on my break from work unless I order in advance and pick up. The food is A+ but the service could be better. Overall, I will definitely recommend and be back myself.

I especially recommend getting the dynamite roll and duck curry Christmas Day Demolition: If you need to know why this is a demolition just look at my pics. Giving this place 5 stars may be a bit bias as it is only because of the food. The service wasn’t unpleasant just not adequate and though the place was clean it did not dazzle me. Let’s get why I decided to make this review in the first place, the FOOD. Everything here was amazing and when you have two fat friends who are willing to share that is a quite a bit of variety. So friend number one is the reason why we came here, he insisted wherever we go must have a thorough sushi menu. The sushi connoisseur started us off with California rolls and I ordered crab rangoon; both were great. For our main courses I ordered beef curry, friend number 1 took my advice and got dynamite roll and friend number 2 decided to be a daredevil and went with vegetable fried rice and duck curry. Everything was stupendous; it truly feel felt like we were celebrating the big mans birthday.

I visited PNJ on a Saturday night for dinner. There was only one other party at the restaurant which I thought would be an indication of a soon to be terrible experience but I was pleasant surprised. They have a great variety of Japanese and Thai and the food was pretty good. I don’t think it’d be fair to comment on the service as there was only one other couple at the restaurant. But the waitress was very pleasant and helpful nonetheless. The only reason I kept a star was because I felt it was a bit overpriced.

Ok, so here’s the thing, I may be being a bit generous with the 3 stars here. Honestly, the food was solid, but the service was pretty awful and the ambiance, well there was none. I had a friend in town staying in Miramar so I figured Pines would be the perfect mid point for a lunch date. I knew I was coming down with a cold, so figured good old spicy Thai food would clear the sinuses out. Found a Thai spot that I had bookmarked forever ago, and headed over. Sadly that Thai spot was closed(note to self to update hours on Unilocal). So pulled out my Unilocal app and found PNJ right across the road! Score on not driving far cause the cold(oh and + hangover) was making me impatient lol. I’m not that crazy about ambiance and wasn’t expecting much… but this was sadder than sad. It looked like an old Chinese take out spot that they attempted to throw some mismatched booths in. Looked like they upgraded the sushi bar area and put in some nice lights, but that was as far as they went. And honestly, I’m happy I came for Thai… this didn’t look like the best spot to be ordering raw fish from. So then the service. I was convinced there were only two people working the entire place, meaning front and cooking. I did venture to the bathroom at one point and spot another cook, but wow, the place had a decent amount of patrons and theses people could not keep up. It took forever for someone to take our orders, and was even more painful when trying to pay the bill. Not great for my hangover begging me to return to bed lol. THEFOOD… the only redeeming factor here. I started with the Tom Kha soup. Perfect amount of coconut milk and lime. Actually this is hands down the best soup for someone with a cold… forget that chicken noodle crap! Then I had the chicken curry. Again, pretty nicely done and the vegetables were nicely cut juilenne style which made this some of the best curry I’ve had. I’d love to find it in my heart to give this place another try because the staff did seem nice(maybe someone called out sick? or they weren’t expecting such a large lunch crowd)…but with so many other options in the area it would be hard for me to return.

I enjoyed my visit here. I have been to the prior Thai restaurant in this location, which I think was decent. But PNJ is even better! Both pad thai and duck curry were simply excellent. I would say that they should give more rice and more sauce though. So based on this last comment I would have given this place 4 stars — great but with room to become even more awesome. However, the waiter(who I think is the owner) was genuinely friendly and professional, made us feel welcomed at the place, so I simply have to give the place 5 stars :) Definitely will be back!

This place is awesome!!! New to the neighborhood, but the owners owned a Thai restaurant in Miami Lakes for many years. The food is fresh, fantastic and great portions. The service is impeccable and the staff is soooo nice… Haven’t been to a family owned restaurant like this in awhile. If you love fresh sushi and Thai food don’t miss out.

Bottom line: Pretty good food for the price, I recommend coming here! It’s a new place, and could use some business. I think it could become pretty amazing with more people. All of the sauces are really good. We WILL be coming back!!! My fiancé and I were at another restaurant in the plaza when we noticed this little place. It’s brand new, we thought it was important to support new places like this. Today we came in and ordered, 1 stir-fried chicken with honey sauce, 1 dragon roll, and 1 chicken satay. Stir-friend chicken with honey sauce: A lot of the sauce leaked out,(not their fault) but once we got it on a place it was delicious! It’s served with streamed white rice. The sauce is very flavorful. Dragon roll: WOW! Look at the size of those rolls! It’s 8 rolls, but man each piece was about an inch thick. Tasted very fresh, very delicious sushi! Came with pickled ginger, wasabi, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. Chicken Satay: It was okay, the chicken was a little dry(may have been our fault, we walked around while we waited for the food) BUT, it came with 2 sauces, the usual peanut sauce(VERY delicious!), and this other sauce with cucumber and little pieces of red chili pepper I believe, also very good! Can’t wait to come back :))

We were the only customers for most of the evening, but it certainly wasn’t because there is anything wrong with the food or service. The gyoza was tasty and I love that they added a touch of sesame oil to the dipping sauce. The sushi and sashimi were lovely and portioned nicely. The chicken teriyaki was a pleasant surprise; it was well cooked and not drowned in a sea of bottled sauce. The miso soup didn’t taste like it came out of a foil packet, which was another plus. We got some fried rice to go, and seriously, the spicy basil fried rice was fan-freaking-tastic. Plenty of heat and a ton of flavor. Hands down the best we have had since leaving Southern California. We grabbed two take-out menus and will be back!

Came here for dinner with my niece. Sushi is fresh. Ordered 3 rolls, dragon roll and then 2 other raw rolls(can’t remember the name). Also had the Thai donuts. Food was fresh and tasted good. Service was friendly and efficient. They also deliver so will try that next time. Will definitely come here again.

Very good sushi. We were pleasantly surprised to find that another sushi place opened up on this spot. The fish was fresh and excellent quality. The ginger salad dressing is awesome. All suaces were delicate and not overwhelming. It’s close to home so, we will be returning. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 starts is the décor. It’s a little sad looking.

I guess this place is under new management. Service was good but the food is not the same :-/the pad thai was stale and the red hot curry was watered down. I was disappointed. I have to find a new spot

I HATE giving a new business a bad review. The service was excellent, even though my order was to go. If I would have eaten there, I would have sent it back. Instead, I was already home, so it was a waste. My food was so bad, I literally had to throw it in the trash & I don’t like wasting food or money. I ordered a Thai dish & maybe some of their other dishes are better, but I can’t say I will give it another try. There was no flavor, the noodles were completely dried out, and it had a funky dirty mop water sort of aftertaste. There were no veggies in the dish at all, just the protein, noodles, & sprouts. I order this dish all over at different places & have never seen it served this way. I’m sad, I was really excited that this spot reopened. I’m glad other people had great experiences. I hope they do well.

The restaurant JUST opened and the owner used to have another thai restaurant(Michael’s Thai) in miami lakes. I feel like not many people know of this place yet, but it’s a place worth trying out. My family and I ordered a few dishes and although the prices may be a little high for the portions, everything was pretty good. The mango curry and pad thai were on point and the volcano roll was great! My brother and I agreed that it was one of the best volcano rolls we’ve had and he practically inhaled it. I like that they have some creative dishes on the menu and since they’re so new, they even gave us an appetizer(the pnj tuna i believe it was called?) to try on the house! So lovely. They also have two tv’s, which is good for when there’s a game on and the sports bar next door fills up ;) Our waters were refilled promptly throughout the night and the owner and his staff are so sweet and friendly that I would return for that reason alone.

This is a great little spot that opened up right down the road from us. I’ve only had the sushi and it’s one of the freshest places I’ve had sushi at in SF. I want to come back for a Thai dish and do another review. Prices are very reasonable. If getting sushi, the«Half Moon Roll» is a must try.

I’ve been to PNJ Sushi & Thai twice. The first time ordered and took the food home. The second time sat down for lunch. Both times were a great experience. Friendly and attentive customer service. Clean environment. Easy to find parking. The food was very, very good. I was quite happy! :0)
