U-Sushi Japanese & Thai

Food tasted pretty good but the service was to slow. My entry came 20 min after I orderd I told my server the food took pretty long no apology or discount. Never coming back

This place is amazing! I have been coming here now for years and they remember my order every time. The sashimi is always super fresh and if something doesn’t seem quite right, they are always prompt with fixing it. I also love that it seems like a hole in the wall, but they are actually a hidden gem! Sucha a great feeling supporting a family run restaurant like this one. U sushi as a customer for life!

Came here for lunch last Saturday and the place was pretty empty. We were greeted and asked to take whichever table we liked. The place has a sushi bar and many tables and booths. It is bigger than what it looks like in the outside. This restaurant is right next to the Publix and there is plenty of parking.
We ordered an appetizer that was made of tempura sushi rice with cream cheese and crab. This was really tasty and was the highlight of our lunch. I ordered the Key West Roll — Crab, spicy tuna, tempura flakes and scallions topped with seaweed salad. This was pretty good but not great. The sushi rice didn’t taste the freshest. My wife ordered the Coconut Shrimp Roll — Alaskan king crab, avocado, cream cheese, spicy mayo, tempura coconut shrimp top. It must’ve been good because she ate the entire thing. I didn’t get to try it.
In summary, the food is okay here, though I found it a little pricey for the quality and quantity.

Really good food. Between 4 people, we tried a Thai curry stew, fried rice, udon noodles, miso soup and sushi. Portions were substantial. The miso was really pleasant, and not too salty.
Service was quick and the waitress and sushi chef were very friendly. It was very quiet on a Sunday at 2 p.m. They have a lunch menu we didn’t get it, maybe because of the weekend. Still, the plates were ~$ 10 – 15, which is really good in my opinion. Will definitely come back to try more on the menu.

Came here a few times and ordered delivery here.
All of there tempura rolls taste fishy. The avocado is always leaking out or always a mess.
Why?
I tried to like it but I’m just not impressed. The sushi is not great.

This place is beyond awful, how do they have a 4 start rating idk. My sushi was dry and flavorless. Publix has better sushi. The duck with chili sauce was 80% fat and 20% meat and by the time you took off the fat the duck had no flavor. The service was slow and the staff was rude. The food didn’t come out at the same time when we were only the 2 table in the restaurant. I would NOT suggest going here.

ambiance is nice. that’s good to look for. Nice plush booth seats and welcoming staff. 1 server, 1 chef/​COOK. Cantonese; Vietnamese or Thai food I only have one dish in mind per session. I take a sip of the hot spicy soup and am transported to heaven.
Not so fast… was that 1^st bite of TKG sweet? Oh no, how much does this small bowl cost, am I to pay an outrageous price for sweet soup.

Very very good! We got an flyer on the door and tried to tonight as take out. We ordered two sushi dishes and two Thai dishes. Both we very good, delivery was normal 45 mins. Order was all right.

Saw 4 stars on Unilocal and was literally a block from my house and jumped all over it. Service is good. Have a lot of sushi rolls to choose from so can’t tell about any other besides the one I had which were the coconut shrimp roll and the dynamite roll. The coconut shrimp roll was good but the dynamite roll was plain and okay. The fried rice wasn’t all that great but was edible.

This place definitely gets all 5 stars! From the selections of sushi on the menu to the great service and the very alluring ambiance! This is an awesome experience! My date and I marked thus place down for a repeat date location! Plus, they have outside seating! Can’t wait for spring to sit outside on the patio furniture.

Not very impressive looking restaurant. The bathroom looked clean but smelled awful, i made the error of having to use it before having my meal which was surprisingly tasty. The food was a generous portion and hot. Too bad i had to wait 10 minutes for a glass of water. They were out of the thai iced tea, the side salad was cheap and tasted bland, and my husband and I were the only customers in the restaurant for over an hour. We can hear them prepping our food but could not smell it and its an open kitchen. The waiter was polite however I doubt we will return here; but i would order pick up since the food was good.

Just ordered from this place for the first time and had it delivered. Ok so here is my opinion… I ordered the tuna yuki, ac roll, & volcano roll… The tuna yuki was really yummy it didn’t have enough orange and it was cut so thin but it was good would of been better with more orange. The ac roll was good and yummy but the volcano. The topping disappointed me it was like a fish batter fried topping it was weird. It literally wasn’t creamy at all it was just a layer or fish topping and it seems they mixed an egg or something and put it in the conventional oven… But than again it wasn’t bad it tasted ok just expected a creamy layer… Will I order again from this place yes but I will order different items I don’t think I’ll get the volcano again

Let me begin with their Thai food, it is absolutely delicious. Thai fried rice and Pad Thai a must try. But I can’t say the same about sushi, I’ve tried so many different rolls and I have to say most of them flavorless and bland. Definitely a to go to place for Thai food.

Great sushi and amazing shrimp pad Thai and fried rice. This has been the wife and I’s go to sushi spot for about 3 – 4 years now. The owner is a very nice guy as well. Family friendly business and restaurant.

I eat this place at least ¾ times a week. I drive 30 minutes across Town for my sushi cravings. So fresh and so good doesn’t hurt your wallet and always get enough food. Abby roll is amazing as well as the AC roll me and my husband always get. The Thai donuts are my weakness and the staff knows it haha love those people very kind

If you are into rolls, this place has a large selection, over 50 varieties, with many interesting sounding combination. Overall, the flavors are not bad. Service is pretty good, my food came out fast. I was in a hurry so I asked the waitress for the check as my food arrived, and she and brought me the check in a few minutes along some orange slices.

Best Thai restaurant in the area. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and it was delicious. Super moist, fresh, lots of protein and hands down the best I’ve tried.

Great fast and not bad on pricing ! Unfortunately they got a 3 star because I ordered from there two days in a row for take out and both nights the rolls came apart very sloppy. But it was still very tasty. I’ll come back. The menu is amazing.

I love this place, although it takes almost an hour to get the good delivered, its always fresh and taste great. I’ve also ate in the restaurant and the food comes out much faster (obviously) but its just as fresh as delivery. This is my go to place for sushi, so happy I found it. The best rolls I always order is the nice roll, rainbow roll, and TGIF roll. On occasion I’ll get jb hand roll. All delicious.

Great service. I wanted to try a different sushi so the chef recommend the sea urchin sushi. I wasn’t a big fan of it but the service was excellent.

I really wanted to like this place because they are super nice. But no, I can’t say I liked it. We ordered two different rolls. The crunchy roll and shrimp tempura. They didn’t have much flavor. We also tried the cashew nut chicken and it tasted like the pan was not cleaned properly before use, like burnt old food. I couldn’t eat the chicken at all.
The service was good. They are very nice but I think that the food needs some improvement.

Tha Unilocal Daddy really enjoys a good lunch deal. I mean, more bang for my bucks! I was in the mood for Thai food for lunch and I Googled a place near me that delivers and this joint came up. I called and they delivered the food in like 20 minutes. I checked out the food, I took a bit and I was so SURPRISED!!! Dang!!!-their Thai food is «ALL-DAT”(which just means that it’s good.). The service-​fast, friendly actuate. The delivery service-​fast and super friend. The prices-​the lunch special prices are great and there’s a lot of food for the price-​NIIICE! The food-​the Thai food is so dawn flavorful, fulling and tasty. The food presentation-​great!
**Note: If you are looking for a place for a 1^st or 2^nd date then this is the place. If you are working in the Pines and University area and you looking for a «Dope» lunch menu that will fill you up… try this place!-you WILL NOT be disappointed!!!
So, check it… I ordered the Thai Lunch Box with seafood and red curry, which was so tasty and full of Thai flavor. The rice is so good-​the lunch special even comes with egg rolls. The Thai lunch options give you a nice variety. The Sushi is pretty good, not the best that I had but they do had creative Sushi rolls. Nevertheless, this is my #1 go to place for a good hearty lunch during work!!!

Not a lot went right. My guest and I ordered waters, hers without ice, and hot tea. Both waters came out with ice, and when he took it back, her water didn’t reappear until we asked for it 20 minutes later.
I ordered the Beef Pad Thai. I specifically ordered it extra spicy, came out mild enough for a new born.
My guest ordered a cucumber roll and eel roll. (I know, I know, who actually orders a cucumber roll? Might as well order air wrapped in rice.
Her eel roll had the smallest sliver of eel, wrapped in a pound of rice, and you guessed it, cucumber.
The cucumber roll was bursting with cucumber, I guess it’s cheaper than rice. I didn’t think anything was cheaper than rice. And by anything I mean gum wrappers you find on the floor.
What did go right? The tea pot and cups are nice, and the chopsticks didn’t splinter and cut my mouth.
Will not be back.

The warm and cheerful customer service has not waned over the many years I’ve been coming back here. Simon and his crew continue to welcome me and whomever I dine with the utmost sincerity that really makes me feel at home. (for the record, this city is indeed my actual hometown)
No matter the dish– be it from the Japanese, Thai or dessert menu– me and my wallet are always pleasantly satisfied. There is still much of the menu to explore so I will be back again. This is definitely a place to check out be it a solo outing or with all your friends!

This place is pretty solid. It’s a cute little place too.
One thing I really appreciated was that I was able to sit in a booth, and the people behind me did bump me when I was in my seat. This happens quite a bit at another restaurant I frequent. The booths aren’t separated or cushioned enough, so if you are sitting behind someone who likes to shift around in their seat, you get to shift along with them! I was pretty happy this didn’t happen today (it’s the simple things sometimes!).
I ordered the Sashimi Benito Box, which came with a soup or salad and an appetizer of the day. It was freezing as I looked over the menu, and I guarantee no one sweats in this place. The A/​C is cranked up high. Given those conditions, I didn’t have a hard decision to make. I went with the miso soup! Thankfully, the server brought that out pronto, and I wasted no time warming up with that.
The box came out a short time later. It was the standard sashimi order. Salmon, red tuna, white tuna. Then there were 2 spring rolls. I have to say that California Rolls were pretty good, which I usually don’t care for. That was a nice surprise… I may try their rolls here some time. Not a bad lunch.
I bumped them up to 4 stars mainly because the place was really nice and relaxing even though it was cold at first. I imagine with a full restaurant it wouldn’t be so cool inside.
