Excellent tasty pizza. I got the mushroom and apricot. Apricot bits where too large though, too sweet.

Homey and American interior and design made me feel comfortable and relaxed. It had a very classy look to it. Pizza menu was extensive, and the overall menu was even larger(perhaps too large? Can cause a great deal of choice paralysis for the average eater.) Pizzas can be made half-half which is nice, if you can’t choose between one. Their flavors are solid and delicious, and very visually colorful. They really bring a creative edge to it in terms of the ingredients they use. In terms of Chicago-style though, it is no where near as dense or thick as it should be — it’s more fluffy and airy than anything. Nonetheless, a solid attempt in a comfortable place.

I’m writing a review for the first time in 4 years to write how disappointed I was. I guess I should’ve expect that when I went for the cheaper option and did the lunch special cheese pizza. The waiter asked for what salad dressing I wanted and I had to prompt him to tell me what options I had. The pizza was very subpar. It might bring back memories for you of dominos pizza BEFORE they improved their pizza recipe. Super thick crust, cheese not sticking to the crust. I threw in 1 star for the soda in a mason jar, liked the minimal ice.

I had checked in here with my colleagues for dinner. They say they are number 1 pizza house in Palo alto area, so we had high hopes. But this turned out be below par our expectations. The service was also very slow though there were hardly any customers. Certainly not the best experience.

Had to wait for literally 1 hour after the order. Ridiculously slow service on a lunch time when the restaurant hardly had 3 – 4 group of customers. Will never go again.

Great pizza, great service, and friendly owners. I got«the fridge» pizza and it was amazing. Sauce tasted great and the crust was deliciously light and fluffy.

I prefer the Santa Clara location to this one, hands down! The other location is a lot smaller, but cozier. I like the truly authentic Chicago aesthetic of the other one, with sports and movie memorabilia from wall to wall. Also the service is a lot friendlier and the food comes out faster. This location, albeit roomier, has very slow service. I came in on St Pattys day the the place was pretty much empty with the exception of 3 other small parties. I ordered cheesy garlic bread and split a calzone with meatballs, pepperoni, spinach, and sundried tomatoes. The calzone was like $ 15! I remember the Santa Clara location only charged $ 10 and it tasted way better. The crust was fluffier and chewer, the crust at this location was very thin and crispy. It took them almost 30 minutes after bringing our appetizer to bring us the calzone. So slow! I’m not sure what the hold up was but the other location was always fast and consistent and super diligent about checking up on our needs. Even though the calzone was less than satisfactory, the cheesy garlic bread was tasty! The bread was super chewy and almost sponge like. And I liked that the garlic was not too overpowering. I would come here again just for the cheesy garlic bread!

Absolutely delicious, the deep dish crust was soft on the inside and had a great crunch Fresh cheese and sauce very yummy. I guess why I would ding it a bit was the wait for the food was long and the server could of checked on us more often and smiled. But great place for my first time, will return

This is the only deep dish pizza worth eating. Pizza in all locations like Paxtis and Blue Line pizza are expensive and don’t even taste homemade. Not good. Pizza here at Pizz’a Chicago is absolute heaven. Only other place that can compete is Windy City pizza in San Mateo. Not even rainbow pizza can compete. I saw some reviews saying it was expensive but when something tastes great it takes hard work and real ingredients. No cutting corners here on sauce. It’s not more expensive than other places. This place has been around for a long time. Their pizza is great, flavorful, crispy and filling.

Our family has been coming here for 10 years. My daughter has a medical condition and we travel to Stanford Children’s Hospital on a regular basis. This place is always on our agenda when we travel to Palo Alto. The pizza is the best around and the garlic fries are to die for… Although the Dr’s may not be pleased with our garlic breath once they see us. :D Thank you Pizz’a Chicago for always putting a smile on our face!

Now I have to say that while I LOVE deep-dish pizza, I don’t really consider myself a hardcore expert on it since for me: as long as they are better than the frozen pizza at Trader Joe’s(not a high standard) and it has a delicious crust, then any deep-dish pizza is a good one. Therefore, please keep that in mind as I write my rating. I came here when I was hardcore craving deep-dish pizza. Overall, this is a great place to come if you want to watch a game. Very sports-bar kinda vibe throughout the place. I ordered the fridge and it was delicious. The flavors were there and the crust was amazing. Like I said earlier though, I am not an expert on Chicago deep-dish and based on other reviews, it seems like this might not be the real deal, but I still thought it was delicious. I wouldn’t say necessarily that this place beats Blue Line or Patxi’s but it is still pretty amazing. It is also a little cheaper so I will definitely be back here if I am craving deep-dish and don’t want to splurge! I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place before since it seems like they have been around for a while! Good pizza!

My family and I came to this pizza place quite often from before, but not sure if we will come back. When we first ordered our pizza and garlic fries, the waiter didn’t even put in the order until at least 15 mins after. Why? Because he was on the phone for 15 mins… We set down and ordered our food around 5.50pm and our garlic fries didn’t come to our table until 6.30… I’m not sure what kind of fries they are making… 40 mins before our appetizer was first served. Our pizza didn’t come until an hour after… We also ask for some parmesan cheese on the side, the waiter literally just put some in my plates. Instead of getting an additional small bowl and place some in the small bowl. This might due to the reason of this waiter, since we never had this kind of wait and rudeness coming from any other waiter and or waitress from this place before.

This is a deep dish pizza place. We ordered the 10″ with sausage and green peppers. The menu didn’t seem to denote that these were not bell peppers, they were spicy, but the pizza was still good. The dough is very light with plenty of toppings and cheese. Extra bonus: they serve IBC root beer.

A few of us decide to check this place out. I have to say I do like the sit and order style of this pizza joint. Not the typical stare at the menu standing at the counter. The pizza was a bit above average. I like a little more«zest» to my pizza sauce. Theirs tasted a little flat. They packed on ample amount of cheese and fresh toppings. Our server was very polite and attentive. She even served up our first pieces of pizza. They have decent beers on tap, we chose the always available Lagunitas IPA. Overall not a bad place, won’t go out of my way to go back but defiantly wouldn’t be an issue to return if someone suggests going.

Occasion: casual dinner with friends Pleasantly surprised to find this little Chicago gem in the South Bay! This Chicago-themed pizzeria brings to Cali some good memorabilia about the Windy City — the Chicago-inspired menu, pictures on the walls, pasta decorations, and of course deep dish pizza. We ordered The Fridge and The Ernie Banks — 8-pc half/half. The Fridge is basically a combo of everything meat and veggies, which I quite like. The Ernie Banks features Thai-styled chicken with carrots which I also enjoyed. In general with the crunchy crust and juicy/abundant toppings, the pizza is good and almost comparable to the real ones in Chicago though the deep-dish pizza I had in Chicago were a bit thicker than here. Also highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms! They were so succulent and tasted so good with the fillings!

I’ve eaten a lot of pizza in my lifetime and Pizza Chicago is A M A Z I N G. It’s probably my favorite pizza place in the Bay Area right now. I was really surprised that some reviews weren’t fond of the bread because I always find the crust to be soft and perfectly crispy! Flavors and seasoning are on point too. I usually split a large half BBQ chicken /half pepperoni with my boyfriend — both are excellent! We usually order to-go so I can’t speak for the service, but I highly recommend for the food!

Try the Chicago style hot dogs! Very scrumptious, savory, honest, and flavorful! ¾ star for the hot dog, ½ star for the pizza, ¾ star for service. As for the pizza: we tried the Untouchables and another one — both highly recommended by the waiter. It has fresh ingredients, however the consistency of the bread was similar to frozen quality. The crust wasn’t fun to finish off and the bread, although very buttery, had frozen consistency. Like it wasn’t cooked fully or right. The toppings and cheese themselves also didn’t hold well together. The food also came out not proportionate in temperature. Some pieces were hotter that others by an unsettling degree — it wasn’t fun to eat. As for the recipe? Well, that wasn’t great either. It tasted of amateur, but I’ll give this place credit for the effort. Both the pizzas we ordered could have had a lot more done to it. TWOSTARSFORTHIS. JUSTSKIPITANDGETTHEHOTDOG. Did I mention the curly fries are glorious? Décor-wise, this place looks and feels great. It goes after Chicago and the blues reflects this. The service is oh so friendly and great — with a good choice of beers. Good place to catch a brew and some below average pizza. I wish the pizza was better because everything else is good! There’s also funny puns hidden everywhere!!!

Pesto Cheese Bread: This was pretty good! Loved the idea of melting cheese and pesto onto bread but for 6.50 that’s a lil steep. Half Black Hawk, Half Al Bundy: It took about 30 min. for this to cook but it’s because it’s deep dish and had a lot of toppings on top! The dough was very light, the crust had a nice crunch to it, and the toppings all meshed very well together! Al Bundy is all veggies with sundried tomatoes while Black Hawk is sausage with red peppers. Both pretty solid pizzas. The restaurant was quite empty on a saturday night, I found that very weird. Also, the utensils were super dirty so I had to switch. The waiter also seemed like he was in a super bad mood… kinda made my friends and I feel super uncomfortable. However, this place has great deep dish and if I’m ever in the area, I might stop by.

Food is a notch above Uno’s but the service is glacial. Might be because we came in a big group but it shouldn’t take 50 min for entrees to arrive. Place is a hit with families though apparently judging by the amount of kids! This particular night there were around 20 kids running around everywhere in the restaurant.(And by everywhere I mean on the tables, booths, chairs) So yea average pizza, weird ambiance, terrible service.

Little pricey, but I love the pizza. I went to Chicago on a business trip, but didn’t have any time to actually try Chicago deep dish. I feel like this is what it would taste like. A nice touch is that they serve the water in mason jars which makes me feel like a hipster, but it’s still fun to drink out of.
