We had reservations for dinner at 5pm. We were greeted by a friendly host and promptly seated. Our waiter was very attentive and personable. We started with the lobster mac and cheese which was very creamy and flavorful. My husband and I ordered the lobster tail and beef tenderloin and we both loved it! The steak was perfectly cooked and we both really enjoyed the garlic whipped mashed potatoes — so good! Our son ordered the half roasted chicken and said it was really good, too. For dessert, we shared the flourless chocolate cake and apple cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream. Everything that we had was delicious and the service was fantastic. We will definitely be back!

Pretty decent restaurant. I had the lamb leg dish which was good, though not amazing — will probably try something different next time. Someone else got the half chicken which is a sizable portion, another person got the seafood soup dish(starts with a «c» don’t remember the name) and another person got the salmon dish. I think the seafood soup was the best of the 4.

Nice ambiance and good service, but food is not worth the price. My lamb had no flavor and the ahi tuna was tough. The couple next to us had surf and turf and both steaks were undercooked. Not coming back.

Food and service were both outstanding. My husband and I each had a salad and shared and entrée. The salads were tremendous and delicious. I’m gluten free and their selection and competence around what I could safely eat was solid. The only disappointment was that the glass of wine I had was a full $ 5 less expensive at the brewery next door. Same wine. We will be back.

This is the best place in town to enjoy a fancy night out or the place that allows locals to come in and grab an amazing pizza for 17 $. We loved the extensive wine selection and they had a couple of guests taps. They also offer lots of mixed drinks and tons of scotch. We loved our calamari appetizer, seems like a lot of other people had the Cesar salad to share. Our main courses were perfectly cooked and the only thing the upstaged them was the delicious sides. This was a place we would to go to again, but it’s pricey.

Rude waiters, terrible food, the mussels had no mussels in them? The so called tuna was almost raw, my salad was swimming in dressing, our steak was so bad, we could not cut it even less chew it, and the duck salad had maybe 3 thin slices of duck in it. Talk about an over rated restaurant. Don’t go there, you’ll be sorry.

I waited four years to come back to AHG. I remember having a meal there that was perfect– exactly what I wanted at exactly the right time. I could recall the flavors, the atmosphere, and the company. I was hoping to replicate that again– and AHG was spot on. Calamari was light and the sauces were perfectly unique from one another. We couldn’t even decide which was better. I had the Filet with the Cabernet Miso Bacon Beurre Rouge. I told our waitress that I was actually angry when I had to eat the last bite because I didn’t want it to end. Out of this world. So now I’ve had two perfect meals at AHG. The bar has been raised again. My expectations are through the roof. But whenever the next time is, that I make the five hour drive to AHG– it’ll no doubt be worth it.

This was our last night in Pagosa, we saved the best for last! Ashley was our server– very kind and attentive! Jim, I believe, is one of the owners, and he came to our table and spoke to us a couple of times, making this Texan couple feel very welcome! The food was excellent! We are very picky with our food, and we were not disappointed. My husband ordered the lamb, I ordered the filet. Temps were perfect with both. Vegetables were fresh and crisp. Zero complaints– very fine dining in the small town, big character town of Pagosa Springs!

Amazing food. Amazing staff. But after trying to go to side street sushi(owned by the same people) I will not be back. See review on side street sushi. I will pass the word along. Customer service keeps restaurants going strong.

Disclaimer: we didn’t eat the food because the staff was rude and the water had floaties. After reading such great reviews for this place, we decided to make a reservation and try it out. We entered the building, the hostess looked at us and did not greet us and when we said, «hi, we have a reservation…» She retorted with a snappy«yeah.» She seemed upset we wanted to sit outside, but lead us there without saying a word. Our waitress Jamie, who was very sweet, greeted us and told us water was on the way. Another snotty waitress slammed our water on the table and stormed away. I noticed my water had weird particles floating in it and we wanted to sneak out because we were disgusted and didn’t feel comfortable with the atmosphere but Jamie stopped us. We asked about the water and she said it was lemon, but we couldn’t see the actual lemon… I would assume a lemon slice wouldn’t be too difficult to provide for a place charging $ 30 – 40 a plate! Skip this place. They want to be fancy and seem to be doing it poorly!

OMG. The food here was so delicious. The ambience was cozy and warm. The service was good, but the five stars is definitely for the food. We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese with gruyère ahh! Too good. Then we had the lamb and ahi tuna steak. I died so many times. The tuna was seared and crusted with sesame seeds on rice, seaweed salad and wasabi aoli. And then the lamb, holy crap. It literally melted in my mouth. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back.

When we arrived, we had to sit outside because they had so many reservations, it was nice just a little cold. Our server was a little cold initially, the salads were really good, we had both the house and beet salad, I wish we had more beets, there were 6 thinly sliced beet halfs. We all ordered pizza the«mountain man and the black and blue.» It was great. Our server forgot the calamari, but when it arrived we could not bite through and it was very chewy, we cancelled it. We had dessert, the chocolate mousse and pineapple upside down cake, both great, but ask the server for the cake to be warmed. Would go back!

We came here for dinner on my 30th birthday. We booked an outside table and got to sit right out front, beautiful view. We got a bottle of wine, appetiser & entrée each and the bill came to about $ 200! The food was great, and huge servings. I had the mussel soup and then a steak, he had the duck and then a different steak. When the appetisers came out we both looked at each other and said, maybe should have shared… but we took the rest of our entrees home and went without desert!

Our server Dana was awesome and very good at what he does The wine and dinner and dessert was exceptional and sitting on the patio was amazing! I felt like I was in Europe and will deffinetly come back when I’m in town. I had the lobster tail and steak and it was to die for and my girlfriend got the pasta because she is a vegetarian and it was also great! All around great experience

This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Pagosa and my go to place for special occasions and date nights. The service has never disappointed me. My recommendation is to call a day in advance to book a reservation. They are usually pretty busy. Favorite appetizer is their mussels. Prior to trying The Alley House’s mussels, I was not a fan but that changed with theirs. The sauce is the best and and if you do not share, it is a meal on its own. As far as Entrees go, everything is amazing. The last item I had was their Brined Roasted half chicken and I had enough for leftovers. The wine list has never disappointed me and their dessert is the best in town.

In a word amazing. The service was perfect. Drinks were kept, full plates were cleaned up when we were done. There were 5 of us that ate here and it was a little pricey but worth every single penny. Food was cooked to perfection. The menu was limited but great for everyone from our 7 year old that had pizza to me that rack of lamb. I consider myself a pretty good cook and when I go out i ask myself could I do better than this at home. The answer on every meal was i dont think so I will be back. Like I said not a cheap meal but portions are good and quality is 5 stars.
