Exceptional restaurant. Loved the experience. The food was incredible. Recommend to anyone who is desiring more spice and flavor in food.

Had biryani, which was not at all good. My friend had paneer tikka masala which he said was not even good as my chicken biryani

One of the best Indian restaurants that I’ve ever been to. They have a large variety on their menu and a good selection on their buffets. This is the only Indian restaurant that I’ve ever seen catfish on their buffet! The flavors are amazing and the atmosphere is nice and clean. The only problem is that they aren’t closer to me! If you want to authentic Indian food in Kansas, check them out.

Best Indian place in the KC area! The food is 5⁄5! My favorite is the chicken tikka masala! The leftovers are plentiful and taste even better the next day! The service is a hit or miss which is why I only gave them 4 stars but I love this place regardless!

So good. Love this place buffet always good lots of options. Usually go to dinner and loved the mango chicken curry. This place is authentic always has lots of Indian people enjoying the food. Chicken tandoori so good as well. All the different choices of Naan are delicious. We usually had the garlic Naan.

I am a great fan of pot Biriyani at this place. But when I ordered the same pot Biriyani for lunch, all I got is regular tasteless Biriyani from buffet and I paid $ 16.33 which is more than the buffet price. I paid more money for a tasteless Biriyani than buffet. So, I would not recommend anyone to order food for lunch.

Best Indian food in kansas. Would eat there everyday if I could. Reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. Service is wonderful and the people are super friendly. Would recommend trying it. You won’t regret, it and I guarantee you will return for more. Once. i went there 2 times in a week. In love!!! Great lunch buffet so you can try a little of everything. Every dish I have tried was amazing. My favorites are the tandoori shrimp and chicken Tikka Masala with homemade naan couldn’t ask for more.

I wish i could give negative rating. 1 star is totally not worth. We have had some worst experiences with this restaurant. not once, not twice but every time we go until we stopped going all together. Talking about food, there buffet is okay, its not worth your money. We only like veg biryani. They had good standards and all of the sudden it dropped drastically. It was not spicy and i love spicy food. So we told the arrogant owner we wanted it to be spicy. He very very rudely responded that biryanis are not meant to be spicy(oh really i dint knew it). So we said it used to be spicy, we ate it he took a grudge on us and ordered a biryani with nothing but chillies and some rice. Iam not kidding or over exaggerating. It had half lb of chillies in it. Are they nuts? What kind of owner does that? Once we went to dinner and also asked for a parcel. The waiter very nicely said it would take atleast 15 minutes to parcel. We were okay with it and sat at our table. The owner became suspicious as why we are not leaving. He came to us thrice asking us to pay. We said we are waiting on our parcel and also parcel was not included in the bill. He very rudely started cussing the waiter infront of us. The poor waiter thought we have complained although we were patiently waiting at our table. They are always eager to snatch your bill amount and always have an impression that a customer will leave without paying. We had enough of their nonsense and stopped going to the restaurant. They are kind to Americans and dont care about others which is never an acceptable trait of a successful businessmen. If they are not going to change their behavior, they are soon going to lose many more customers as there are many other Indian restaurants which have a very good ambiance & cheerful owners.

The two stars I gave is only for the food ! Even though you try considering the food in okay category but still the service makes me feel disgusted. For the price it has in the menu, they could do better! DISAPPOINTED

Ruchi is amazing. I love Indian food and go out of my way to cook it/eat it whenever I can. I’m a professional cook/amateur chef and my standards can be pretty specific, but this place has consistently amazed me. The buffet is huge and every dish seems like it was prepared with care as opposed to being hastily slopped together. Some Indian buffets have masalas that seem almost deluded and the flavor doesn’t pack the flavor punch that I associate with this style of cuisine but Ruchi doesn’t fail me on that front. Laid back atmosphere and attentive staff are also a plus for me personally. Honestly the only critique I have of my experiences here is that the naan was a little less crispy than I prefer, but that’s probably because it goes so fast it doesn’t have time to cook as much, which is probably a good sign! Love this place, also the Indian market next door is where I go for all my Indian spices I use at home so check it out if you’re interested.

Food on food on food. That pretty much sums it up. We went for dinner so we didn’t experience the buffet but rather we picked out some individual dishes to try. I had a mysore masala dosa(think of it like a huge rice crêpe with potato, onion, and hot chutney). It was giant. However, the ratio of filling to crêpe was way off and I had a ton of dry rice crêpe with little to moisten it up. But the pieces I had with the filling involved were well spiced and yummy. My date got the garlic chicken and come to find out that they actually dredge the chicken in rice and corn flour, rather than wheat flour, so my GF self can actually eat the crispy chicken. That was so cool to find out because I rarely can eat off both our plates instead of just my own. With the garlic chicken came all sorts of soups, sides, and rice. It was way more food than he could handle, even with me helping him so we took home leftovers. The biggest issue we had was that we both ordered food but mine came out so early that because I was trying to be nice and wait for his food to arrive, mine was cold by the time I did start eating it and I actually finished it before his food even made the table. Timing is key here and it was very out of sync. Upside, the owner is incredibly sweet and gives you coupons every time you leave.

Was my first buffet in an Indian restaurant in Kansas. Was here after reading reviews on Unilocal.Place was running full when I checked in and hotel was filled with the aroma of food. We had a waiting time of 10 minutes(Sunday) and were given a seat at the end of the room. It felt little grumpy in the corner space, but was okay. Things I liked: (i) Idli, Dosa, Mango Cake, Gobi Manchuria(pieces scrambled down to small pieces due to people not taking them carefully) (ii) Gongura goat was good. Chef did a good thing shifting to fresh gongura leaves rather than using gongura paste. Things which I didn’t like: (i) Coconut chutney was cold. (ii) Pepper Chicken was salty. (iii) Mango Lassi was too watery(heard in previous reviews that Mango Lassi was good, might have been an off day when I visited). (iv) Not a big menu compared to other restaurants I’ve been too. (v) Chicken biryani was high on masala & less on pieces. (vi) Tandoori Chicken was too dry and tough.

I have been to all the Indian buffets in the Joco area and nothing beats this place. The staff is always friendly unlike another Indian buffet that I used to frequent. The food is always hot and fresh. The consistency of the quality of the food is quite remarkable. They have the best mango lassie hands down! I have been eating here for over a decade and will continue to eat here as long as I’m still in Kansas. Highly recommended!

The food s good but worst ever service there could ever be. I’m not just talking about restaurants I mean worst ever. We came in at 740 and placed our order at 750. Our order never came out. It was just two of us who ordered for 2 biriyanis. And that didn’t come out for more than an hour. So we couldn’t wait so we just asked them to change it to a togo order and left. It was ridiculous. I would never come back and please don’t come here! I would love to give 0 stars but unfortunately thats not an option.

I wish there was an option of zero star or a minus rating. We have been to this place many times; and all the time we have noticed that the owner does a lot on discrimination among the Asian and the American people. He goes to their table many times and asks if everything is okay but he never comes to any of the Indian people table. Earlier, we thought that it might be our misunderstanding or something. But no, it’s nothing like that he does that all the time. And not only that, along with discriminating people he also doesn’t talk properly with the Indian customer and is very rude and arrogant. Secondly, there food is also not great. Very oily food and is overpriced as well. I wish the owner learn some etiquette and be same with everybody.

In December of 2014 I ate here for the lunch buffet. Several hours later I was as KU Medical Center with food poisoning, no control over my bodily functions, and severe dehydration. I had to be wheeled into the ER because I could hardly stand on my own. All the while my body was trying to rid itself of this and because of the mess I was leaving everywhere I just kept apologizing to nurses and doctors. I couldn’t think straight, I couldn’t get comfortable. It wasn’t until later that I shared that’d I’d silently accepted the fact that I was probably going to die. Sounds dramatic, I know… but I’d NEVER been this sick. I’ve had all kinds of sports injuries, surgeries and procedures. This was the most scared for my life I’d ever been. I called and spoke with management and was told I was allergic to the spices. Indian food was one of my favorite things to eat, so I wasn’t allergic to the spices. His only concern was if I’d told anyone else about this or reported this to anyone. No, but after cutting me off in the conversation several times making sure I’d not called anyone else… I hung up. I immediately reported them to KS and a health inspection 24 hours later failed them for multiple priority violations, and failed them again weeks later at the follow up. They and their insurance company have told me I cannot prove it, but would like to offer me a $ 25 gift card. I explained I didn’t think I would be returning and was told I should take the gift card and give it to someone else. What? I was told by KU nurses and 2 doctors to NEVER ever eat there again and they were not surprised at what happened with where I’d eaten. In fact, when I told them where I’d been, «ah-ha, yup,» was the shared response. Do yourself a favor and read the inspection reports online. A $ 11 buffet could cost you a few thousand in medical bills, car cleaning, house cleaning, days of recovery, and complete misery.

I’ve been to Ruchi’s for dinner and I liked it, although I wasn’t blown away– but after coming here for their lunch buffet I’m not eager to come back at all. It’s very crowded, and there’s not a lot of room to move around, either between tables or at the buffet. You just kind of have to stand around waiting for your chance to jump in line, making it awkward for people around you and risking getting hit with plates of food. The buffet is large, but everything I tried on it is either so mild that it’s bland, or super spicy. My dining companions couldn’t tolerate lot of items at all, due to the spice. I was excited to try the Coconut Naan, but it was just regular naan sprinkled with coconut, not even baked in– so the coconut just flaked off on my clothes and left no coconut taste. Even the plain naan wasn’t good– it was hard and overcooked. I love okra, but the okra dish left a lot to be desired– it was just a boring scoop of green & brown mush. The vegetable biryani was the best of the things I tried, although it was very spicy, and I found stems(of what, though, I don’t know) and hard-as-rock raisins(I think they were raisins, but who knows?!) mixed into it. There were some little Pakoras available that were good, but they were all perfectly the same size that I suspect they were cooked from frozen, not made fresh. There were also zero samosas available. What kind of Indian buffet doesn’t serve samosas?! Weird. Apparently, this place is famous for their Butter Chicken. It was ok I guess, but nothing remarkable– the chicken was a touch dry and the rice they suggested you serve it over was overcooked with several burned spots. The restaurant serves Mango Lassi on the buffet too, and it’s quite delicious, as is the mango cake(although they ran out of it while we were there,) and their mango ice cream– although the ice cream machine is obviously quite old– it’s loud, and the handle needs replacing. There’s a big sign saying to only use these tiny little styrofoam Dixie cup bathroom cups to drink the Lassi from. I’m guessing it’s because they just throw them away, because it’d be harder to clean the thick smoothie-like texture of Lassi out of their glasses, but that’s soooo wasteful. Plus you get like 3 sips from one of those cups. I should’ve just used a glass and then washed it out in the bathroom for them! There were a lot of people working there, but none of them checked on us during our meal, and only once was our table cleared of used plates. When we got there, the sign said ‘wait to be seated,’ but when a worker spotted us, he just waved towards a booth for us to sit at, and while the tabletop was clean, the floor underneath was disgusting– completely littered with old food. Apparently, Ruchi’s doesn’t own a vacuum. Basically– this place is gross. Just go to Touch of Asia instead– better selection of better food in a cleaner environment with a nicer staff.

This was our traditional new years day Indian lunch. We hadn’t tried this place before. Unfortunately, I was not pleased. The chai tea was very bland, the naan was burned. The chicken was dried out except for the fried wings which were very good even though I wasn’t aware that was an Indian item. It took a long time to stand in line to pay even though the line was short. The place was very busy and I could hear others(even those of the same ethnicity of the restaurant) complaining amongst themselves about the buffet. It was new years and maybe the staff was hungover so I’m willing to give them another try since many of the reviews are good. The ice cream machine ran out. Boo. Also there wasn’t rice pudding available.
