Jade Bowl Chinese Restaurant

I love this place! The food is always yummy and hot when delivered. The delivery is fast. I’ve tried other Chinese restaurants and Jade Bowl is the only one who makes it the way we like it. And always service with a smile. I spend about $ 22 to feed my family of 4.

My chicken with vegetables lunch special (entrée, choice of rice, choice of soup, choice of crab Rangoon or egg roll) was a very good value at $ 5.79. I asked for crab Rangoon AND egg roll instead of soup, and they were very flexible. My meal was delivered to my table just two minutes after I ordered at the counter. The chicken and veggies were plentiful and tasty, and there was a mountain of fried rice. The egg roll and crab Rangoon were both delicious. The dining area was small, and Spartan, but clean. Dining room background music would have been nice, otherwise very nice!

Not somewhere I would go again. Food was okay. The interior was okay. But from what I could see from the kitchen, it didn’t look pleasant. The water is kept in pitchers in a fridge behind that counter that doesn’t look that clean… don’t eat here if you don’t have to.

This restaurant is absoutely worth five stars. I have been ordering from them for years and they have never gotten my order wrong. The food is delicious. I made it a goal to try all of the Chinese restaurants in my area and Jade bowl is the most reasonably priced as well as the best tasting. Its not a buffet, so no need for dining in though there are a few tables and seats. Regardless the staff is always friendly and efficient when carrying out or delivering. This restaurant has maintained quality, cleanliness, and friendliness consistantly for so long that I felt it was time to write a review that hopefully draws more people to taste their excellent cuisine!

I like this place mainly because they deliver to our house. The customer is not bad and they are usually timely. The majority of the food is good and plentiful. It may not be the best but it is consistent.

Been ordering here for a couple of years. Love the General Tso chicken! I’m not really an egg drop soup fan, but I really like their’s. Lunch prices are pretty cool and you get plenty of food.

I ordered from this place two days in a row.
Last night while I was at work, I ordered chinese food for my friend and I. I ordered Vegetable Lo Mein add chicken, and ten eggrolls.
She had a hard time understanding me, which is understandable because of our difference, but the fact that when the food got there it was wrong, was upsetting.
I decided to give them another chance today and ordered food for my husband and I, and they neglected to read the order back to me, provide how much it cost, and when it would be delivered.
We were outside fixing the car, and my husband met the woman and picked up the food not knowing what I ordered.
We got back inside the house and opened the bag and there were no eggrolls like we ordered, there were crab ragoons, which I am allergic to seafood so I cannot eat.
I called the store back and the same woman from last night and when I ordered today answered and said «Oh I read back to you.» No, she didn’t. I began to explain that I am allergic and would never order something I cannot have near me and she said «if you pay for eggroll you can have eggroll we will bring eggroll» So I told her I paid 19.97 for eggrolls and Orange Chicken and that she messed up last night too, and she said she would bring me the eggrolls and I could give her back the crab ragoons.
THE DELIVERY MAN ONLY BROUGHT (2) of the ordered (10) eggrolls, and left. Basically threw the food at us in the doorway and walked off without a word.
HORRIBLE.
Will NEVER go back to Jade Bowl, will stop people from my company ordering from Jade Bowl, and will make sure everyone knows how horrible their customer service standards are.
I don’t care if you speak broken english, you are in the food and service industry, you should know how to treat people.

Worst place to order food from. I called the person on the other side was very nice but they got my order wrong. When the guy that deliver the food arrived was very rude and he was yelling at me because he didn’t know where to go and the instructions were for him call before entering the building. I called back to the restaurant to talk to a manager but she didn’t care either. They seem not to need my business or the business for the company that I work for, very unprofessional people.

I live pretty close to this place and have never gotten food from them until only recently. I did delivery so I don’t really have any say of the appearance of the place. But you do have to call in for delivery and I wish there was a menu online and delivery system online as well. But the phone delivery wasn’t the end of the world, the food was amazingly affordable compared to my regular Chinese delivery! There is no $$ amount for delivery and no fee. The food for typical Chinese and very good and arrived hot! Making this my regular delivery from now on!

Small secret spot for a decent Chinese meal. The triple delight was fantastic! Using fresh vegetables and a great sauce, the egg drop soup was one of the best I’ve ever had, just really disappointed in the frozen won tons and egg rolls. The main course really builds up expectations. They need a fountain drink machine.

I’ve been ordering from Jade Bowl since about 2006, the food has gone down in quality but they still deliver and the menu has coupons you can use.

Delivery was pretty speedy. The lady that took my order over the phone was very sweet. The food was really well priced… but my husband and i only took a few bites and threw the rest away… absolutely no flavor

Talk about fast Chinese food, I went to the panera bread next door and was told it was already closed, so I saw this Chinese please and decided to try it, I ordered chicken and snow peas and by the time I pulled my wallet out to pay the guy tells me is ready. That is very fast. Food was good but a small portion for a Chinese place

I recently had their delivery several times as I’m stuck inside recovering from surgery. The delivery is fast and the food is good for Chinese delivery. I think the vegetable fried rice is great. Yes, a little greasy but I understand I am not purchasing upscale gourmet. I didn’t care for the egg drop soup though, it tasted a little dirty.

This is great chinese delivery on rainy/​snowy days. We ALWAYS have them deliver our food. Usually they arrive sooner than they say. The food is a little greasy sometimes especially the fried rice and lomein but everything always tastes pretty good. My personal favorite is the sizzling rice chicken soup.
I read that people were complaining about customer service. These are not your chatty friendly food service types. They give you large portions of greasy American Chinese in exchange for money. It’s not a smile and people please fest. It’s an exchange. These guys are not interested in your happiness otherwise and personally I’m cool with that.
Their food comes in microwavable plastic containers that I end up keeping and reusing for leftovers. It’s awesome. My favorite recyclable plastic containers!
I honestly don’t see why the bad reviews. This place delivers all that one should expect out of a older strip mall fast food chinese takeout place located next to the sinking ship they call Birdies. (See my review)

This review DOES take into account that these places are barely restaurants, meaning, I don’t expect a lot. Even though it’s a dump, if they had service with a smile, I’d give them another star. This is a place that cooks food and will box it up for you in exchange for money. it’s just okay. You go here instead of one of the Asian buffets because this way you don’t stuff yourself like a pig like you would at the «all-​you-​can-​eat» joint.
AT least it’s hot and fresh when you get it. The jagoff behind the counter looks like he is stoned and when I (as a regular he should recognize; I’m in there about once a month) asked that he make sure that my soup was piping hot the little $hit had the audacity to say that he couldn’t do anything about the temperature of the soup. Like they couldn’t just dump it in a wok for 30 seconds or even throw it in the microwave. If you can catch the sideshow when he’s taking phone orders, it’s worth the price of the food. The guy is a mumbler like no one you have ever seen, he mumbles like no one else. SO he is mumbling into the phone and the called has no idea what he is saying and this butthead starts to get mad at the guy on the phone because he has to repeat everything until he’s not mumbling anymore he is kinda shouting. And you wanna just lean in and say asshole, if you would speak instead of mumble, you wouldn’t have to yell. This place amazes me because I have been in this place a lot over the past several years and they treat their customers like crap.
That was the last straw. I decided I’d never go back. That’s the second time I’ve done that, I’ll boycott them for a year or so and then I’ll go get something, it’s about 2 minutes from my office.
It’s not going to hurt you if you go there. It’s just like the 50 other counter-​service Chinese places in town, But it’s not worth a trip and with the pr! ck that mans the counter, it’s not as though they give a crap whether you walk in there or not.

I am always trying new Chinese places. I drove around and around one evening trying to dodge construction (I found that was impossible). I finally gave up and started to head home, where I got blocked by a train. I decided to head down Antioch around the train tracks over to 75^th Street. Unfortunately, I found even more construction there. I turned down 75^th to head home and noticed this small restaurant out of the corner of my eye between the bulldozers. Luckily, I was able to skip across 75^th despite the evening traffic and construction.
I was greeted by two friendly faces and explained that I needed a couple of minutes to make my choices for take out. I decided on their special, Mongolian Triple Delight along with an order of crab rangoon and egg drop soup. I sat down to check in on Unilocal and by the time I did that, my food was ready. I was shocked.
Getting out of the parking lot during this current construction was a little bit messy, but I finally made it home with my goodies. The Mongolian Triple Delight was delicious! Spicy, but not too much so… just enough to make you sweat a little. I’d forgotten to request fried rice, but the steamed rice was perfect. So many times you get mushy rice, but this was really great and I enjoyed every last bite (although some of what I enjoyed was the next day for lunch!). The crab rangoon were really good, not extraordinary, but good and didn’t seem factory made. You only get 4 in an order, but the price is right and you could always get 2 orders.
The egg drop soup was good, but typical. The wonton noodles were completely rancid an inedible. That kept them from getting the 5^th star.
I usually spend about $ 15 or more when I get carry out and was happy to only spend about $ 12 at this restaurant. I’m looking forward to trying it again to make sure the quality is consistent.

Great Experience! Huge portions, just the right amount of spice on the Kung Pao Beef and freshly made Crab Rangoons! Also, the shrimp in the Fried rice are good sized and plentiful unlike most take out. I’ve been going here for 2 years and it is consistent, quality Chinese food at a great price.

We ordered from Jade because our beloved Sunrice was already closed and for this, we could not have been more depressed. While Jade does give you a huge amount of food (in styrofoam, so when condensation works its magic, your food is full of water!), it only serves to equal more food you have to feel like an asshole for throwing away later.
I got a broccoli dish and was amazed at how little Give a Shit went into the creation of my meal. It’s no exaggeration when I say they did not CUT my broccoli. Excuse me, they may have said «let’s break these big hunks of broccoli apart but use massive hunks for this meal so that it is not fully cooked and there’s no chance of cutting it into normal-​mouth sizes!»
I felt like someone was laughing at me by handing this over.
I ordered the same thing from Sunrice weeks before and it was this delicious masterpiece of a meal. Much more depressing to eat what I could shove down my throat at a time of realizing I hadn’t eaten all day, but wanted to continue not eating in the name of what the WHAT.
Sorry. We won’t order from this place again. Boyfriend’s food was all right, but it tasted like a WalMart InnovASIAN meal (that’s what they’re really called, I have pictures). Luckily, he likes those microwavable things, but not for an over $ 20 charge for two meals. I’m sure most people would say «$ 20, what a good deal!» but not when we got the EXACT MEALS from sunrice for around $ 15.
Also, this place is directly down the street from us. It took them over 30 minutes to get to our apartment. Sunrice is in Prairie Village (they say OP, but it’s across the street from my bank which advertises its location as PV) and they somehow manage to make it in 20 or so. Sunrice just defies logic, I can’t go to the bank in less than 30 but they always have a fresh, delicious meal delivered to us in an incredible amount of time considering the drive. And their food does not make you feel like a total dick. Eat at Sunrice. Lose Jade Bowl’s number.
