I came on for a shampoo and flat iron. Tara was polite, competent, and fast! I’m from out of town, but will definitely be back my next trip!

Can you give zero stars? Tara is a sweet girl. but that does nothing for me when she is constantly late or a «no show». This last no show from her is my last appointment. There happened to be another customer walking in saying that she does this ALL the time. If your time is important to you… think twice before going here! Good thing I didn’t have a Christmas party to go too when she was a «no show» for this appointment.

before I bought a groupon I called to see if I could get an appt. Courtney answered, told me to not buy the groupon OR living social b/​c 1 of them was «wrong,» print it off & they would honor it, saying «when you buy 1 of those they get half the money.» She told me a deal for $ 55. (bait & switch=illegal) I got there on time Saturday @1:45 (⁹⁄₂₇) no one was there! A sign was posted saying there was an emergency (w/​a #) & she would be back shortly. I called, Tara’s daughter answered the phone claiming to be the owner (unprofessional)Tara picked up & I told her I had an appt @1:45 & no one was there. She said her stylist skipped out & she would be back in 30 min, it took 45 min. I told her I wanted my roots touched up & to match it w/​my hair (she said, «ok so blonde). I have been getting blonde off & on for 10 years (steady since April 2013). my roots didn’t even come close to matching the rest of my hair. even a shade darker than my natural hair color (described by my stylist friend, manager @a salon) Tara said, „It’s like a reverse ombré“ that is not what I asked for! I asked for blonde & it came out as reddish-​brown. She kept asking me if I liked it, if not she could fix it. I told her „I don’t dislike it, but it’s not what I came in here for“ (I was being nice, I should’ve stood up more to her). I even left her a $ 15 dollar tip. I „used“ the living social that day, again not purchasing it b/​c she said it was fine. Also she had me stand up during some of my haircut which is odd & a 1^st for me. I left the shop unsatisfied,@that point I didn’t know if she knew anything about color & wasn’t going to risk making it worse by letting her „fix it.“ During the time I was there some lady came in & sat down in the waiting area. Tara said she’d be w/​her „in a sec.“ A bit later Tara grabbed her purse & motioned for the woman to go back to a room behind the curtain. They obviously made a quick exchange & a moment later the woman was out the door. I am not sure what that was about but looking back, it’s odd. Tara also didn’t have her square account working (if she has 1 @all). I had to pay her w/​a check which I hate doing. Everything about that day=inconvenient. Fast forward to 10 – 24 I go into my friend’s salon, I should’ve gone to her in the 1^st place but my schedule doesn’t always match up w/​hers. My friend has done my hair many times w/​no problem @all. I rarely get my hair done so soon again but I had a wedding to go to the next night & I wanted my hair to be blonde (like for real this time)! W/​me not knowing anything about color @ the time I didn’t think anything of it. I didn’t think it would be a problem getting my roots back to blonde but Tara had put so much red in my hair that when my friend went to color my hair it was almost orange only on the part where Tara colored. My friend had to use so many different techniques on my hair that day to try to fix what Tara had done, it came out looking so brassy by the time I walked out. I have even done a blonde box color on my hair several years ago that turned out better than what Tara did and she’s a „professional.“ Later that afternoon I called Tara & told her I wanted some of my money back because I had to spend a fortune getting it fixed. She told me that she could, once again, „fix it.“ I told her that I just wanted my money back. She said, „well I wish you would’ve shown me what it looked like before you fixed it.“ I asked her what she did to my hair & she said she put a 10 in. I told my friend & she said it had to have been a 7. I was still trying to talk to Tara on the phone but she snapped that she could call back in 20 min. I never heard from her. I called back 40 min later. I called back again that night & left a message. I even sent her a text that night. I gave her every chance to @least explain what she did to my hair. The next day I called her store. So I decided I would just stop by her store. Once again, there was a note on the door explaining she would be back @5:15 well @that point it was 5:25. She didn’t show up til @least 5:35. There was a woman waiting outside the door who looked annoyed. Tara finally gets there & as always has an excuse. The woman said she needed a cut & tara then looked @me & asked what I needed, I told her I needed to talk to her. I told her she never called me back & had been trying to reach her & she said she had an emergency (what’s new?). She swore she put a 10 in, I told her that that wouldn’t pull as much red as it did. She told me it’s not her fault what the people before her had done to my hair, funny b/​c she had only done my roots which @that time were an inch grown out (it was un-​touched for 3 months) She said diff hair reacts to diff products and can pull red. she refused my money back & kept offering to fix it, even knowing how much bleach I told her my friend had to use & it would’ve fried! I called her undependable, she said,“I run a shop & have 4 kids!» So! that shouldn’t effect the customer.@ least be on time.

VERY IMPRESSED! First time, showed up for my appointment to find the door locked. I later got a call from the owner. Turns out there was an emergency and no one was able to make it in. Tara was incredibly apologetic… but no one can help when an emergency happens! The shop closed at 6 and it was well after that when she called me. She even had me come in that night and did my hair cut and color way after hours just to accommodate me. And she did a wonderful job too! I went from brunette to blonde and she took her time and added extra (hopefully I get this right) toning… to make sure the color was perfect. She did an amazing job and made sure I was pleased with the color and cut without making me feel rushed (again, this was way after hours). I can tell she loves what she does and she’s GREAT at it. Love my color and cut. I’ve decided I won’t go to anyone else from this point on. Already booked my next appointment!

This place is fantastic. I am very picky about my hair and have been to quite a few shops in the KC area. This is by far the best. After 3 cuts I have not left unhappy once. They are very talented and welcoming. It is a great place for the whole family or a single dude like me. Tara cuts my hair. Give them a go. You wont regret it.

Decent service once they call you back. Loved my hair the first time I went however my stylist moved.
