mildly pushy staff, terrible prices.
Let me admit that this was my mistake for not shopping around, but God damn. I was in the market for a couple of rechargeable D cell batteries. I went to see what Batteries Plus had, and quickly realized that the Powerex 11 Ah model was what I wanted. Impulsively, I shelled out the $ 50 for a 2 pack. They have been great batteries, but Amazon has the same exact ones for $ 29 with prime shipping available!
Batteries Plus isn’t like Best Buy, which will now price match any online prices including Amazon’s. This was a stupid move on my part, NEVER to be repeated. I paid nearly double what I should have!

I was able to get my battery replaced on my iPhone 5. The salespersons were kind and informative. However, they were not informed that for certain iPhone 5’s, the battery will be replaced for free at the Apple Store. I later found out through the cellphonerepair (CPR) store website, that my phone would have qualified for the free replacement service from Apple. I was disappointed that a store that replaces iPhone batteries regularly did not know about this program which has existed for over a year.

Because I’m probably in the top 10 Best Dad’s Ever group, I bought a laser for my son for Christmas. It was literally on a slow ship from China since December. After a quick stop in Switzerland, it arrived in our anxious little hands yesterday — sans battery. And it’s not any battery most people on this island have ever heard of. And because we already waited more than a month for the laser’s arrival and wanted to get busy catching things on fire, I needed a battery at any cost.
I thought maybe THIS is what BatteriesPlus is for. So I stopped by, and I found the battery I needed. It’s rechargeable and they didn’t have the charger — well, that’s not too helpful.
A few questions later, I realized that the kid who probably lists «Battery Professional» on his young LinkedIn profile knows a lot about batteries. And virtually nothing about communicating with people. Well, you can’t win them all. I bought the $ 10 battery.
I checked Amazon when I got home and ordered another two just like it, with the charger, for the same price. So if you don’t plan ahead, BatteriesPlus is a moderately good option to bandaid a bad situation.

Surprisingly Batteries Plus carries a lot more than I assumed. I needed a battery for my jet ski and after calling multiple places, I tried them. They said they have several in stock and even came with a mail in rebate. I was able to walk in, get immediate help, and was out in no time. The guys were very helpful and knowledgeable.
