I thought it would be a nice treat to have the lobster special during a recent visit to The Grill. It seemed that this $ 29.00 special would be a good price for a dish I usually enjoy. But, the lobster was small and had little taste. I do have to say that the setting is nice and it’s convenient to the Grand Vista time share buildings.

This restaurant is located inside the Marriott Grande Vista, the resort we are staying at. It’s located on the beautiful golf course. I stopped in here this morning for breakfast. I must admit, it’s pricey for breakfast but it was well worth it. I ordered the Spanish omelet. It was very tasty, fresh and probably one of the biggest omelets I’ve ever had the veggies were cooked but still had some bite to them. I love that in a good omelet. The potatoes were okay, seasoned well but almost seemed deep fried. The bacon was very good! Crispy and cooked to perfection. Service was excellent! The restaurant wasn’t really busy. Can’t really complain about much. It was convenient and just a short walk from my room. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the price $ 25.00 for breakfast is steep but then again, we’re at a resort. I may go back.

When I came here the place was so empty that I could choose any place to sit, so I sat next to the window with the golf course as the scenery. The place is nicely air conditioned and the interior design of the place is quite welcoming and engenders an atmosphere of coziness and sophistication. It’s akin to a 4 star restaurant without the accompanying hikes in price. I had the Wagyu burger here with fries and also the mahi mahi(I think? it was some fish) tacos. The beef patty in the burger is grass-fed beef, which in my book translates to a more palatable burger. It is one of the bigger burgers I’ve had, definitely much bigger than any fast food burger. That with the fries is enough to fill most adults I’m assuming(I’m a 20 year old who regularly engages in rigorous exercise and can generally clean up lots of food adults of larger size cannot). This definitely ranks in the top 5 burgers I’ve had at restaurants. The fries are a nice addition, but aren’t anything to write home about. The tacos themselves are not enough to fill someone, making the burger a better choice for a meal. There’s not much to say about the tacos, but you’ll have to take my word for it when I say the tacos are definitely worth a try or splitting with another person; they were unlike any tacos I’ve ever had before, in a good way. I definitely would recommend this to people who like fish tacos. Ironically service was somewhat lackluster despite the dearth of restaurant patrons at the time. In fact, at one point I was the only one in the restaurant. Yet, the waitress was out of sight most of the time. I think she was too lax and was devoting too much attention to socializing with her coworkers outside of the restaurant and in the back. I’m not complaining, but some people might find this to be a slight annoyance. TL;DR Get the burger for a meal and split the mahi mahi tacos with someone if you want to try them. Place doesn’t seem to get crowded often but service isn’t stellar.

Ok no restaurant has ever gotten a 5 star rating from me but on Wednesday 26, 2015 this restaurant deserved 6 stars!!! Their were 4 of us that ordered different phases of Steak and vegetables but I promise you the chef did his business on our steak. It was the best steak I’ve had in years, and normally I go the Prime Rib or Ruth Chris for Steak.

This restaurant is located within the Marriot Grande Vista resort. The outside is beautiful and well landscaped. The front lobby is clean and the hostess was very friendly. We were quickly led to our seats in a smaller room off of the main room. There is a variety of seating arrangements from seating at the bar with TV screens, to smaller groups by the windows or high top lounge seating. Because we were a large group, we were seated at a rustic wooden table but unfortunately did not have windows. Our waitress was alright. She was pleasant but not very«happy/cheerful» as I have become accustomed to with Marriot workers. There were items left off of order order, which was quickly corrected, but when food did come out it was done using several staff members so no one was waiting. Unfortunately, our waitress did not check back in with us to make sure that we were taken care if and we spent quite a bit of time waiting. I was with a group of 6, who had a variety of foods. I will start with their food and end with my own. We were brought water and soft warm bread with butter promptly as we were seated. Child: My daughter(6) chose the popcorn shrimp with a fruit salad. The shrimp was a generous portion that was cooked perfectly in a tempura batter. The fruit was fresh, clean and was a variety of grapes and melons. Appetizers: This are in single serve portions that are generous and could feed 2 comfortably. We had the Tomato/Mozzarella and Calamari. Tomato/Mozzarella: Large slices of tomato and mozzarella served over a bed of lettuce and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The vegetables were fresh and the cheese soft and moist. The balsamic was sweet and tart. The only thing that would have made this better was a splash of olive oil. Calamari: Large rings of calamari fried in tempura batter topped with banana peppers and a side of dipping sauces. These were fried perfectly with just the right amount of batter and crunch. A very generous portion! Entrées: Fillet: Beautiful cut of meat served with mash potatoes and vegetables. The meat was cooked to perfection with a hot pink center, perfect amount of seasoning, and fork tender. Beef stroganoff: Very generous portion of egg noodles served a rich beef cream sauce and tender pieces of meat. Waygu burger: This was the highlight of all the meals. A perfectly medium rare, thick burger topped with melted cheese and crispy onion rings and served with crispy fries. The burger was juicy and flavorful. The patty was very thick and was generous size. I have heard that the lunch portion is smaller but still filling. Lobster mac & cheese(mine): I should start by saying that I am from Maine so lobster is something I have grown up with. The dish was served in a cute cast iron pan topped with a generous amount of bread topping. I was very excited to eat this dish but was disappointed to have to hunt for the lobster which was cut into tiny pieces and was over cooked to the point that resembled shrimp. There was too much breading and the taste over powered the cheese sauce and lobster. I was shocked that(at the price) the did not include the claws or any embellishments. In fact, someone could mistake it for plain mac & cheese. Dessert: Crème brûlée(mine): Since arriving in FL I have been craving this dessert(I guess by pregnancy tastes go beyond pickles and peanut butter). This dessert, though not perfect, did not disappoint. This was a generous sized, rich dessert that can definitely be shared and is topped with fresh fruit. The pros: there was the characteristic crunch on the top of the luscious, silky custard. The flavor was spot on and hit the spot. The only con was that the sugar was not completely bruleed so was grainy in spots and detracted from the mouth feel. I am giving this place a 4 because there were distinct high and low points.

Slow service. Coffee was empty several times. Steak and eggs for breakfast. Steak was very bland and had zero flavor. Asked for American cheese with scrambled eggs. Cheese was laid on top and not melted instead of folded in. Pretty poor food for the prices they charge. Steak and eggs, salmon bagel sandwich, pancakes, two coffees. $ 45. Asked for pancakes to be wrapped up for little one and they left the container on the table for me to do it. Won’t return.

Had breakfast there. HORRIBLE service. The large dining room only had two servers. However, the other server seemed to be visiting her tables regularly while my server(Laura or Lauren), Took at least 10 minutes to just come over and say hello. I had to go up to the front to talk to the maître d’. I’m staying at the Marriott and probably will not go there for dinner.

I must say I just had the worst Prime Rib I have ever had. Tough as hell and much more fat then meat. Do not get this special! They have refurbished the dining room and it is nice but unfortunately the food is not. Many, many better and cheaper places outside the compound.

Went in for dinner to «The Grill» with my wife tonight, Sunday evening 6pm 7÷13÷14, as my wife & I are spending the week at the MVC in Orlando where the restaurant is located. I ordered the rib eye steak to be medium and it came to me like well done chewy shoe leather. I could go on and on about bad details of our visit but just to suffice I’ll say stay away as the food is horrible. Even after I showed the waiter the over cooked steak nothing was done nor did any Manager come by. I found that odd but we should have been weary when we noticed the restaurant was empty upon our arrival. We quickly learned why the hard way as we departed from our $ 100. YUCK!

In town for business, walked over to the Grill, and enjoyed a very nice dinner. They sat me at a table w/a view of the golf course, and my server Jorge was very attentive — I was a bit parched from a long day of travelling, and he re-filled my ice water probably a half dozen times. Decided to go w/the«catch of the day,» which was mahi mahi served w/shrimp scampi on top w/mashed potatoes and asparagus. They let me substitute out the potatoes for double asparagus, and it was all delicious — beautiful presentation, too. Fish was perfectly cooked, light, yet nicely seasoned, and asparagus was nice and crunchy, just the way I like it. Quick service, but not rushed. Overall, a great start to my trip to Orlando.

Wonderful service and delicious food. Had a fantastic dinner tonight. I started with the crab cakes and ordered the Steak Salad as my entrée. Both were delicious! My two children also enjoyed their meals of chicken fingers and hamburger as well. It’s probably the best meal we’ve had during our stay in Orlando. Seems that Orlando is a chain-restaurant haven and we were glad to try something different!

The ribeye steak was tasty, good size and cooked to order with extraordinary mashed potatoes. Sadly, the vegetables were undercooked and not tasty. Crispy onion strings were great. Beef points on noodles looked fabulous but mediocre taste. Meatloaf ok. If you are a vacation residency guest you get a free appetizer but no one cued us to this when we registered nor did hostess tell us to bring thr discount card when we called from our room. So a feature that should have made us delighted left us feeling dumb for not uncovering this when we arrived from a full day of travel from LA. Front desk that is when guests need coaching!

Husband had the salmon for dinner and really liked it. I had the steak salad which was delicious. Was not too sure about the Worchestershire house dressing so had them put it on the side but it was really good. This is a place a would come back to.

I ordered French Onion SOup which was about $ 5 for lunch and then a salad with 3 meats – egg, chicken, and tuna for another $ 9. I was pleased overall and enjoyed the food. I really wanted to try the calamari and reading the other review I am upset I did not. Kind of expensive for what I got but overall yummo!

Been a Marriott Grande Vista owner for 4 years, and stopped on by Nick’s Grill every year… hoping for it to match the name it carries, but only met with mediocrity. Explains why this place is so empty at a large resort. The best dish here just may be the Fried Calamari appetizer served with two sauce options; the traditional red marinara, and a sweet creamy mustard option. The breading is light and smooth. The sandwiches and wraps here are nothing special. It’s served with a side of fries, or sweet potato fries by request. I get the tuna melt or some other deli selection. Would go farther if they had fresh avocado options. The steaks and fish here are nothing special either. I frankly can make better back at the kitchen at the timeshare.(Cooking is my hobby, not my profession.) Perhaps they are not using prime meats, or the marbling of the steaks are reduced due to being left out way too long to bring up the internal temperature before cooking. The salmon should take a less is more approach and let the natural freshness of the fish to do the talking, unless they are not using a fresh fish. I recommend switching from Atlantic Salmon to King Salmon for a richer taste, and for the price, it should be justified. Nothing special offered for desserts. Perhaps if they offered a good quality Tiramisu or a fresh baked Mascarpone dessert.

I have been coming the Marriott Grande Vista with my family for years. This past vacation, I happened to eat there twice(once for breakfast and once for lunch) There service was good, nothing to write home about. For lunch, I got one of their grilled chicken sandwiches with pesto and for breakfast I got one of their omelet meals. I enjoyed both of my meals. Both dishes were very flavorful and the portion sizes were decent. The biggest drawback of this place is the price. I find the food good but not completely worth the price, there are so many other places I would rather eat while on vacation but if you do not feel like leaving the property give it a shot.

We had late breakfast at Nick’s Grill overlooking the golf course at the Marriott Grande Vista. I would say both the food and service was average. I ordered herbal tea. They brought hot water. A few minutes later she brought the tea bags: black. Then they told me that black was all they had. They brought us breakfast, and then a few minutes later, our silver wear and napkins. The oj is «freshly squeezed»: it was good, but did not taste freshly squeezed. My eggs and bacon were decent, so that was good. So when you’re at the Marriott, and you don’t want the fast food type breakfast by the pool, Nick’s is your only bet ‘on campus’. We sat outside. That was lovely!
