Absolutely delicious. Surprising to find such a gem on the«unpopular» side of Waterford Lakes. Lunch & dinner specials are a wonderful deal. All the rices are so flavorful and you can’t go wrong with the meats. My favorite is their specialty which somewhat resembled a lasagna. Staff is super friendly.

Had a bad first experience a few years ago and never returned until today. For good reason, I found out for my lunch. I ordered a stew beef plate to go. Paid an excessive amount. Only to get home and find 2 small pieces of beef and rice, for $ 10. I got back in my car and returned the food. They refused to give me full refund. EATATYOUROWNRISK

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I love the combo I can get for such an inexpensive price. Rice, beans, chicken, plantains for about 7~8 dollars, not to mention they give student discounts too! You order at the counter but they will bring drinks out to you once you sit down. Also, you can pay after eating.

Fantastic food and great adult beverages, everyone at our table loved their meals! It was big portions and super delicious. Our waitress was so nice and accommodating with our toddlers needs and food. Very family friendly, nice atmosphere and clean. If you are in the area and hungry, stop by, you won’t be disappointed!

Love this place! I try something new on the menu and am never disappointed. I recommend the stewed chicken or steak and onions. Don’t forget the tostones with mojo. A mojito of course rounds everything up and theirs are very tasty. I used to frequent the same franchise at the Loop in Lake Buena Vista. Glad since moving over to Winter Springs this is a short drive away.

I was running all day for meetings on the east side of town and decide to refuel at this establishment. Upon walking in, I noticed the place was clean, plenty of people dining in, and others placing take-out orders. The dining area is pretty big. Big enough to host a holiday party and such. The only complaint I have is that my food was a bit salty. As hungry as I was, I finally ate for the nutrients and to regain my strength. Can’t say that I won’t be back, but I’m not in a hurry.

I really can’t express how much I love this place. Granted, I am Cuban, so I may be quite biased — but I can assure you that this place is PHENOMENAL. I was so excited to see they’ve expanded their location, though I have not yet been to the sit-down restaurant part of Rice and Beans yet. I get the dinner special quite often, and you cannot go wrong with the pork or the moduros(of course). Also, given the amount of food you get the price is VERY fair. This place is definitely one you must check out if you’re in the UCF area!

The only Spanish food in town that is Fresh, affordable, delicious and CONSISTENT! My family and I love this place. We eat from their take-out side at least twice a week. The owners and staff treat you like family and they keep true to the spanish cuisine.

Let me say, first off, that this is one of the best Latin restaurants I’ve ever been to! First time, the supervisor asked if it was my first time and offered the lunch special. Instead of giving me the generic options, he gave me assorted options to try. Instead of giving me just one kind of rice, he gave me 2. Instead of one option of chicken, he gave me both. Everything was soooo good and tasty. The plantains were. He also informed me of their happy hours, fantastic mojitos, and when they have their dinner and DJ nights. Even though it’s far from where I live, this is one of my new lunch joint and date night spots. Highly recommend!

Probably the best Cuban food I have ever had in my life! It was very reasonably priced while the quality of the meat and the rice was really good! We, Persians are very picky in choosing the restaurants! And I ll tell you go for this !

TL;DR — Avoid the pork, get the tostones! I was torn about the rating I should give this restaurant, and here’s why: My wife and I sampled the pork, which is usually one of the items I judge Latin restaurants by. It was dry and flavorless despite the fact it was sitting in its juices. There wasn’t a lick of salt or any other seasoning to be found. Dejected, I was about to leave. But being the Fry Snob, I had to try the tostones(which is about as close as you get to fries in this kind of restaurant). OH. MY. GOODNESS! These were probably the best tostones I’ve had in all of Orlando. I’m not exaggerating. They were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Perfectly cooked with a great garlic sauce. This is now my tostones spot. If you know of any better tostones, I need you to tell me right now!

A gillion stars! Flew into town and was completely starving. Made it to the restaurant right before closing, and the whole staff was so friendly and fun. They even fried us up some fresh plantains! Great food, great value, great service! Wish we lived near by, I would absolutely be a regular.

This is my second time coming here. Delicious food, I feel like you can’t go wrong with anything here. I got the pork stew with black beans over my yellow rice. The pork was moist and tasty. The beans were perfectly cooked along with the rice being fluffy. I enjoy coming here and look forward to their affordable lunch specials. The staff is attentive and very happy to serve you. The atmosphere is casual so no need to dress to impress. Overall, I had a great experience!

I’ll admit right off the bat that I love Cuban food so I’m already a little biased when heading into a place that specializes in that arena. This place really delivers! When you walk on the door you may be a touch confused on how this whole thing works. Don’t be afraid, head towards the counter and the friendly staff here is always ready for questions. I’d recommend the yellow rice, stewed chicken, plantains, and red beans. Get some of the stewed chicken sauce over your rice! The husband enjoys the baked chicken and I’d recommend that in a heart beat as well! For two dinners with two sodas it’s roughly 25 dollars tip, tax and out the door. In the Waterford area it’s a great deal! Overall: A Skip the chains on the main side and give this place a go!

Went here at the recommendation of some of the locals close to UCF area. Loved it! Especially can’t beat it with that price. $ 9 – 10 for authentic Cuban food! Delicious. The dinner special should be plenty if you are hungry and the service is very quick. With the dinner you get a choice of meat and rice along with either plantains or yuca. I ended up going with pork, yellow rice, and plantains on a nearly empty stomach. Had plenty for my fill and the service was very friendly as well, quick service but with someone to attend you for drinks if needed. I only wish they gave more plantains as those were so delicious. Perhaps next time though I go I’ll ask for more.

YUM! Just came here for the first time today in between school shopping and wow. Vegetarian lunch special for $ 6.89 was amazing and came with SOO much food! A side salad, two heaping scoops of rice(4 to choose from), sweet plantains, and your choice of red or black beans. I am stuffed. Jason prepared our plates and he was extremely kind and answered any questions we had. We will be back very soon!

Everyone else had great meals I had the ropa vieja($ 12) which came with about the equivalent of an ice cream scoop of actual meet swimming in sauce. While it was tasty the portion size really made me regret spending that kind of money on it

Dinner special for 7.89, can’t beat that price for what you get! The Special comes with two scoops of rice, cup of beans, choice of plantains or yucca, and choice of meat. The servings are just perfect, even if it may not look like it at first. I tend to think portions are smaller than they look cause I’m a fatty. I went with the stew chicken, yellow rice, plantains, and black beans. Delicious! I haven’t had Latin food in awhile, so I am glad the fiancée suggested Rice and Beans tonight. The beans were a bit too salty at first, but when mixed with your rice it is just perfect. The server also gave me a few scoops of the chicken gravy on top of the rice, so that made the mixture of rice and beans extra tasty. Will definitely be back to try the mofongos! If you are in the area and got a craving for some latin food, check Rice and Beans out!
