Interesting little place. I ordered an omelette with café con leche. My omelette was pretty tasty, no complaints about the food. And it was pretty cheap. $ 7 for a pretty big omelette, Cuban bread, and a coffee. Service was super fast and friendly. The automspehre is somewhat Cuban. They play Spanish music and the décor looks Spanish. The menu is not just Cuban food. So I wouldn’t say this place is authentic. They have pizza and spaghetti & meatballs. Interesting. Next time I’ll try croquettas and a steak sandwich. Those are pretty standards Cuban foods.

I came here again a couple weeks ago and tried the chicken sandwich. This is one of the greatest chicken sandwiches I have had. They use muenster cheese(which is my favorite) and it is melted to perfection not to mention that there bread is perfectly toasted, not to soft not to hard. Only down side is it’s messy… but what’s a good sandwich if it’s not messy? Am I right? Go try it out! Definitely my go to chicken sandwich place!

They don’t serve pork. Just let that sink in. A pork-free Cuban sandwich. This is probably fantastic news if you don’t eat pork, but it’s really confusing for the rest of us. Everything on the menu that sounds like pork is imitation: bacon, ham, etc. When I asked the waitress what it’s all made from she said it’s turkey. So why not just list«turkey bacon» on the menu? Anyway, enough about the pork. I ordered the breakfast scramble. It was full of fresh veggies and the«ham» tasted ham-enough to me. The bread was good and the café con leche was very good. The turkey-sausage was not very good. It was very dry and a bit bland. Most of our group steered away from the pork-substitute sides. A couple had the steak and eggs which were incredible. My daughter ordered the pancakes and she wasn’t a fan, they were a bit thin and dry. Overall, it is a good place and in a convenient location for me so I’m sure I’ll be back. I’ll just use caution when ordering to avoid the fake stuff.

Not that great. I didn’t like my croqueta sandwich. I think they are a little over price for the kind of food they sell. There’s no waiters, yet when you pay with credit card they ask you for a tip. Had better Cuban food. Just saying

I stopped by for an order of tostones, and they were just okay. They were a bit overcooked for my taste and had a slight sweetness that I’m not used to in tostones. They came with an odd tasting garlic sauce which wasn’t quite my preference. I wasn’t overly impressed, but I may come back to try some other things in the future.

Stopped by here one day for lunch. I ordered a fried tilapia lunch special that was featured on the menu board. When I received my lunch it was a very large plate of food. It had fried tilapia, which was cooked to perfection. Some rice with vegetables, side salad, tostones, and black beans. If was delicious, and very filling. I noticed, on the menu board, that they do not serve pork. How can you have a Cuban restaurant, without pork. They seem to have pulled it off quite successfully. When I asked my server why, she informed me that the owner is a Seventh Day Adventist and lives is faith even through his business. Also, they do not open on Saturday. This is their Sabbath. I must admired them for doing this. It reminds me of another chicken sandwich chain that does not open on Sundays either. I’ll be honest with you, I did not miss the pork. I feel that Hebers Café will be blessed.

Heber’s just opened up near my home and my work and I can’t be happier! Since the grand opening this pat Sunday I’ve eaten here twice and was extremely happy with my food both times. For my first meal I chose their version of the Cuban, which is made with Turkey and turkey ham, and loved it! I also tried the croquetas which were so good! The next day I got one of the lunch specials(chicken fricase) with white rice and black beans and fried yuca. The rice and beans are so good and taste homemade. The chicken fell off the bone and was very flavorful, and the fried yuca was perfectly crispy with their mojo! Besides the delicious food, I always feel valued and the staff treats me very well. Needless to say I will be eating here again and very often!

Not bad! I stopped in for lunch, finding the layout effectively unchanged from its days as Athena. Except people were actually eating here. The menu is pretty vast, and oddly enough for a Cuban restaurant, contains no pork. It feels to me like a Japanese restaurant not serving fish. Apparently it’s a religious decision. Okay, fine. Just don’t expect me to be happy about turkey bacon. Anyway, since my first visit was lunch time I didn’t want to spend the money on some of those tasty looking entrees. Instead I ordered a Cuban sandwich and a side of yuca. I can’t say I care much for the sauce that comes with the yuca, even though it was heavy on the garlic and I love anything garlic. The sandwich was delicious. I made the«mistake» of getting the Cuban Special, which has twice as much meat in it. Huge. Next time, I’ll just get the regular size! Shortly after that, I came back for dinner. I ordered the 8 oz Churrasco steak and my wife ordered the Palomilla steak. I really enjoyed the churrasco steak. With the black beans and two sides that were included, I see very little reason to order the larger 16 oz portion. I was stuffed as is. My wife didn’t care for the palomilla steak at all; she found it to be nothing more than a boring, overcooked slab. I didn’t try it myself(she wasn’t exactly selling it well) and I’ll likely avoid it in the future, but there are plenty of other options on the menu to try. Overall, I’m happy this place is here. Hopefully it will do well.
