I came here looking for updated information as to when this place will repoen and decided leave a review. I havent been here in a while for obvious reasons(they closed and claim to be reopening soon.) That said a lot of what is posted here is true. It IS obvious that they took over another space and it is basically a low budget Fugo de Chao, BUT if you’relike me and hate chain restaraunts with their duplicate menu concepts and overflavored oversauced food this place is a nice alternative. The meats are mildly seasoned and obviously don’t have any Jack Daniels sauce or bacon and blue cheese covering it. Anyways, it WAS a teeny bit overpriced but prior to closing they loweed the price for lunch to $ 14.95. Not a bad deal at all. I believe dinner was about $ 30.00 give or take, again not a terrible deal. C’est la vie though since for now anyways they are closed.

Well my wife and I decided to have a belated Valentine’s dinner somewhere new. We’ve been to Brazzaz and Fugo de Chao, so we tried Sabor de Brazil on a Saturday nite. Called early for reservation which I was told no need but took my name. Arrived around 8:15 and had a nice decent crowd. The restaurant is well themed to some kind of country. Felt more like a Italian/French theme. Slightly cramped tables and dim areas. We were seated in the couple section«Wine Cellar» area. Our waitress greeted us and told us how the Churrassco works, which we already knew. We walked to the«salad bar» which was around the corner. Good selection yet nothing was labeled to know the difference between the salads or the few hot food choices. The down side was that the hot food was sitting there for hours! You could tell that the rice and beans was not stirred or even refilled in over an hour! Also was dark and not sure if fruit flies were around. Headed back to our seat where we waited for about 5 minutes for our drinks to arrive. A pop/soda and a specialty coffee. We also receive some old and hard cheese rolls. We had to ask the«bus boy» for the remainder of the sides items. Mashed potatoes were good, plantains and corn bread dry and no flavor. Well why did we pay so much? For the steak. The menu showed around 12 different selection of meats which we only saw about 5 of them make their rounds to us. Some were good others too salty or very burnt. Our waitress did not seem very attentive to us at all. We were the last one in our section which was not a great experience. The gauchos did not come very often. The same ones over and over again. We did not get the chicken leg, top sirloin, chicken breast w/bacon, the fillet and other meats. At other restaurant the gauchos made their rounds more often. We had to wait and wait with our plates empty for a gaucho. Very disappointed. When asked for our check to the«bus boy» he asked our waitress for it and she was like surprise! Yeah we wanted to leave already! Bad service, ok meat and salad bar not fresh. For the price service was not that good. I’m sorry but I would not return or recommend Sabor de «Nada»(nothing). I’ve had better service else where and at other steak house. On the bad side we were leaving our waitress an $ 8 tip but due to a mix-up we accidentally left her $ 20. Waitress not worth a 10% either. Our service was the killer GOTOBRAZZAZS and Fugo de Chao FIRST!

Well I must say that my experiences at Sabor do Brasil both times I’ve been there, have been AWESOME to say the least. The first time my family and I had come to Sabor do Brasil, we were very impressed and we came to the agreement that this was one of the few restaurants that we have not had any complaints about. The second time, it was for my birthday, and I must say it was amazing. The service was just exceptional since we walked in through the door all the way to our table and leaving quite satisfied. The food was just awesome. The salad bar was fresh and was full with a great tasty variety of veggies and other delicacies. The meats were just right, just the way we liked them. And specially the grilled pineapple they serve is just delicious. Probably, my family and I finish about 4 pineapples just ourselves. Overall, this is the best restaurant I have ever been to.

I recently experienced Sabor Do Brasil for a retirement party. I thoroughly enjoyed the salad bar, the wine and the different selection of meat. My fav was the lamb. I would definitely go back since it’s so close to me.

I have been to every Brazilian Steak house. This restaurant does not come even close to Fogo de Chao, Brazzaz or Texas De Brazil. Waiters and staff were great. The feel of the restaurant is not comfortable. The salad bar is very unorganized and small. The meats are not tasty at all.

The layout inside here is very cramped, lots of nooks, crannies, narrow walkways and the seats and tables all felt very close together, nothing at all like the spaciously open other churrascarias in Chicago. It just really felt like they took over previous restaurant’s space, and I say all of this because I feel it really negatively affects the dining experience. The salad bar is in a smallish room that feels like it may have been a waiter’s station in a previous life. There are two doors on opposite sides of the salad bar room and then everyone gets kind of all jammed up in there, all trying to grab for stuff over other people’s arms, and none of the food in there was hot(either temperature or deliciousness) anyway. Much more of a China Buffet vibe instead of the elegant Fogo de Chao vibe — but the prices are the same. The meats were really only average, a few things were actually below average in quality and tastes, but another couple were very nice — averaged out to just okay. The roasted pineapple is divine, so much so that it earned this solidly two star experience an extra star, even though it is unfortunate that it is the best thing that the meat people have. I probably ate almost two whole perfectly caramelized pineapples myself — at one point I just had the guy slice off a giant half of pineapple a put the whole hunk on my plate — my mouth was swollen from the acid for days. Someone else was covering my bill and I felt bad for them because I thought it was a bit of a rip-off. I’ve noticed since a few times that there have been banners up advertising their new lower prices, so I’m guessing I’m not the only one who has felt that way. I’d eat here again if someone else was treating, but I probably wouldn’t spend my own money.

I went here the other day with a handful of friends for lunch. This place, by far, was the most delicious orgy of meat I’ve had ever. The pork and bacon wrapped chicken were probably the best of the many options of sworded meats, but all were good. The salad bar had a good spread — everything was fresh and tasty. If you’re ever out in the area and have the cash to spare — hit this place up.

Don’t forget to try the pineapple that the meat dudes bring around. It is AMAZING.

I cannot believe I forgot to write a review of Sabor Do Brasil. We just went to Fogo de Chao in Chicago, and I wanted to note that Sabor Do Brasil compares very favorably to Fogo de Chao. Sabor in Orland Park has a better«salad bar» room, with more interesting selection of cheese. We also feel that the meat selection at Sabor do Brasil is better than at Fogo de Chao. Service at Sabor do Brasil is not quite as good as Fogo de Chao, though. Suburbanites, be happy that we have this gem so close at hand.

I went here for my anniversary and was happily surprised! All of the food was excellent and there was so much to choose from. Even their drinks were really good. It is a bit pricey, but I think it’s worth it for all the food you can eat!

Perhaps they should consider changing the name to Sabor do Chicken and Sausage, because that is about all that was actually served — when food was even available. We literally saw four servers in the first twenty minutes after we flipped out little«serve me» thing from red to green. They were no where to been seen, and when they did show up it was either chicken or sausage. I actually had to ask our waiter if beef was still on the menu. When we occasionally did get a slice of beef it was overly salty and oily. I’m pretty sure we filled up on bread and water. Our waiter, Carlos, was very polite though. After paying $ 130 for our«dinner» tonight, my wife and I left feeling cheated and we will not be returning. Perhaps the other reviewers should try a real Brazilian Churrascaria to compare. I emailed the restaurant to complain about the lack of service and food on the night we went there. The email I got back from them highlights the fact that management thinks anyone who has a bad experience there must be an idiot or a liar. Don’t waste your money at this place!

My bf and I traveled the short drive from Palos Hills out to Orland Park to give Sabor Do Brazil a try for our anniversary in March. We went early to beat the crowds on a Saturday evening. Arriving around 6:30, we did not find it hard to get a table in the least.(though I can see where if we went later in the evening like we normally would have it might have been tough without a reservation) We were seated in the room that looks like a Wine Cellar(Their sorta«upgrade«for us after finding out it was our anniversary). The atmosphere here was an inviting one and I found the Wine Cellar room pretty charming. We ordered drinks and hit the salad bar. Lots of tasty things up in the salad bar to choose from and enjoy. MUCH to my bf’s embarrassment and chagrin I chose to stack up on the salad bar with lots of pickled peppers, yummy salads and soups… not realizing what a daunting task eating the meats would be when they came ha ha. Once we were done with salads the meat extravaganza started. There were up to 15 different meats to choose from, from chicken choices to pork to beef to lamb to seafood. Honestly out of the 15ish choices to choose from, I only can rave about maybe 3 of them, but enjoyed up to 8 choices(I am NOT a picky eater in the least). Soon as you turned over your marker to signal you wanted more meat, the servers did not disappoint. The service was excellent, and never did we have to ask for a server to come around with a particular cut of meat. Some of the meats were slightly dry and salty which I wasn’t a huge fan of, but over all everything was prepared well and was tasty. The Dirty Martini I had at dinner was one of the strongest most potent dirty martini’s I had ever had, which isn’t a bad thing, and defiantly enhanced my bf’s anniversary night: P(not that I needed a dirty martini, but hey… when in Rome) The pricing was pretty decent too… we were surprised to have a HUGE meal that made us disgustingly full, 2 drinks each for less then $ 100 Overall, good place to go if you are anywhere in the 30 minute radius of Orland Park. Sure its probably not as good as some other Brazilian Churrascarias in the Chicagoland area, but it was not bad at all.

We finally got out there and used our gift certificate and what a pleasure! I have never eaten at one of these Brazilian Churrascarias before, so it was a treat! You start out with the extensive salad bar for your sides, filled with different salads, fresh mozzarella, lasagna, high quality prosciutto, salami, and assorted cheeses, fresh asparagus, and assorted grilled mushrooms and vegetables. Try not to fill up too much on the salad bar(which for $ 19.95 you can just eat that– and it’s plenty!). They give you this little hourglass thing with a green or red side that You turn it to let the Gauchos know if you’re ready to be served up some meat that they will carve up for you right at the table. I believe there is about 20 different kinds of meat! It is all you can eat, so don’t eat for like 2 days before and be HUNGRY! Don’t fill up on the meats that aren’t your favorite, save room for ones you like. My personal favorites were the leg of lamb, filet mignon, grilled shrimp, and the pork loin. My suggestion is the grab them when they come right out of the kitchen and get the cuts from the outside of the meat you can get the excellent flavor of the rub on the meat. This was a ton to eat! I define eating extravaganza! It costs $ 39.95 a person for the full Rodizio meat and salad bar, which is worth it if you’re a big eater. It would be nice if they had a smaller edition for smaller appetites. They have a nice wine selection. Our cocktails were great and good priced. The service is excellent, very friendly, very attentive! I loved the old world décor in here. This is an Atkins dieter’s dream! Check them out!

For Orland Park and surrounding suburbs, you don’t have to travel too far to get a taste of a Brazilian churrascos. They have one right in Orland Park and it is comparable in the quality of food and service to other churrascos in IL… it’s just closer to you south siders! The Hub and I decided to go to Sabor after our Friday night league. It was about 9:30 p.m., but we had passed it up so many times, we wanted to check it out. So even though we were dressed in our gym clothes, we walked into Sabor and I’m glad that we did. They didn’t treat us any differently because we were so underdressed, and I appreciated that. Just like Fogo and Sal & Carvao, Sabor has a separate salad bar, all-you-can-eat. And it also has 15 types of meats to choose from. While I can’t begin to name the various meats, I do believe that they are similar, if not the same, as those served at Fogo or S&C. I believe they serve other grilled options, but we didn’t really focus on these. Several side dishes are also served with dinner, just like Fogo and S&C. The plantains are always a favorite. So you definitely don’t want to load up on the salad bar, although they have a great proscuitto to offer. I would recommend a few veggies and then jump right into the meats. You can balance the salad bar with the meats that you get as they come. The one thing I was surprised about was the lack of a sommelier. They had several wines to offer from various South American countries, but there wasn’t one person there who could speak about the wines. They overcame this with an offer to taste various wines before agreeing to anything specific. This is always a good thing. Tthe cost is the same, and the food is comparable, so the only good thing for you south side suburbanites is that you have a Brazilian venue that’s a hop, skip and a jump away! Enjoy! Would I recommend a special trip for non-south siders to check this place out? Nope, I would say go only if you are in the area. It really isn’t any different from other churrascos(ok, maybe a tad better than Sal & Carvao), so go to one that is closer to you. But, the Hub and I enjoyed it so much, we brought his parents to dinner there for their birthdays. So I guess it’s definitely somewhere we would be going to again.
