My family and I really like this place. When we lived in Silver Spring, we would drive to Olney to eat here. That’s how much we liked it. Now that we live in Olney, we get takeout and bring it home. Food has always been good, and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Plus, they have specialty dishes(Cleopatra chicken) that are out of this friggin world. That’s right. I said«friggin.» Prices are pretty good(for Olney). Never had a bad meal here. Even my in-laws like it, and they can usually find fault wherever we go to eat. Not this place(and hopefully I didn’t just jinx it). Bonus: portion sizes are big enough that you’ll definitely have leftovers. And who doesn’t like Chinese food leftovers? Crazy people, that’s who.

Every time we order from here we like it more and more. Tastiest egg rolls I have had in quite some time. Now that we have found our go-to items when we order, we like it even more. The take out service and management here are always nice and very accommodating.

Best Chinese anywhere! My family and I love this place. We come here for birthdays. Waterman is quick with the service you can’t take two sips of water without him filling it back up. George the owner is great and makes the best Mai tai. Food is top notch love coming here.

Best Chinese food in Olney! This is my family’s go-to meeting place so I have many fond memories of eating here. My dad’s known the owners for over 20 years! I think the longevity of this restaurant itself is a testament to its great food and customer service. Three must-haves: 1. Peking Duck. Super crispy skin with deliciously fatty meat served with Chinese pancakes, spring onion, and duck sauce. The chef will cut the meat at your table(it’s usually Frank. Very funny and nice man!) and it’s always so delicious! 2. Orange beef: Nice, large pieces of garlic-y fried beef smothered with a sweet and tangy orange sauce. I like this way better than the chicken! 3. Seafood sizzling soup: Flavorful broth filled with mouthfuls of shrimp, scallop, veggies, mushrooms, and egg. Dried rice crispies are put into the broth right before serving which give it a really great texture and flavor. Friendly staff, fast service, and great food! What more could you ever want?

I have eaten here since I was a little kid and have always loved the food. Usually crowded on Saturday nights, but it is not an issue. I always go for the seafood hotpot and chicken/broccoli, which are delicious. To finish the meal, they usually serve rainbow ice cream as your dessert with a fortune cookie. Overall, I recommend this place.

We had our New Year’s family lunch with my in-laws. They recommended the place for their Peking duck. I questioned if they actually sliced the whole ducks before serving or it is pre-sliced. The ducks came out very thinly sliced and very dried. Nothing like what we are used to in Philly Chinatown. We asked for brown rice but was told they only have white rice or fried rice. Their mafu tofu had little flavor. All other dishes were typical Americanized Chinese dishes — sweet, fried, and very saucy. I would recommend this place only if there is no other Chinese or Peking duck place near by. I will not try it again.

Ok it was lunch time no greeting stood and front desk for 10 min. I had to tell them I wanted to make a order. My food was mediocre. I order beef and broccoli. But the one thing I like was a real EGG Roll ! It was so crunchy and good ! That is why I gave them 3 stars

I have been here several times previously and had been satisfied with the food to come back. However, yesterday was different as the service by our waitress was appalling. She was rude when taking our order, never came back to fill our tea or water, and forgot about some of our entrees. The next table, with about 10 people had the same problem, and actually someone just got up and left without paying. The manager, a taller heavy set gentleman never came and apologized to us about the dinner or lack of service. You can be assured I will never step into this dump again.

Danger, Will Robinson When I go to a restaurant, the first thing I do is go to the bathroom. Hand-washing is good sanitation, and a bathroom gives one a good idea about the establishment’s thoughts on cleanliness. If they keep a nice, clean bathroom that customers can see, then they probably keep a clean kitchen too. It’s good to know. This place had a nasty bathroom with a foul smell that I don’t think I’ve ever experienced outside of a Mexico City bus station. I cringed. I was with family. My uncle likes this place. I had to go out there. And I had to eat something. The food was mediocre and unimaginative. We had a lot of people at the table so I saw and tasted a lot of dishes from some kinds of peanut sauce chicken appetizer, steamed dumplings, fried dumplings, kung pao chicken, chicken with cashew nuts, tofu… The dumplings were average(which means they were pretty good — but nuthin’ fancy). The chicken with cashew nuts had some green onions in there, but they were limp. Most of the food was just fat, carbs and MSG. And that’s what Americans like. Check out some of the other reviews. Surprisingly I only got a little sick. I was worried. I was away from home. I like my privacy when I’m… well, you know. But I made it home. But that bathroom gave me nightmares. When a bathroom is that bad, what does the kitchen look like? Don’t answer that question? I don’t want to know.

I wasn’t super impressed with the food here — I found it kind of boring but maybe I’m too snooty with my Chinese food. We started out with the spring rolls, Bön Bön chicken, and the spicy cucumber. The appetizers were definitely the best part of the meal. I actually liked all three of these dishes. Spring rolls aren’t usually my thing and these were surprisingly good. They didn’t provide us with a sauce for them(which they needed) but once we got one they were very good. The Bön Bön chicken was very good and the peanut sauce on top of it was really excellent. The spicy cucumber was the definite star — they had the perfect amount of chili oil, crispy crunchiness, and tanginess. Our main courses were as follows: — eggplant with garlic sauce — maybe I didn’t like this because I expected it to be stir fried and it was deep fried. Or maybe I didn’t like it because it smelled really horrible which made consuming it difficult. — soft shell crab — soft shell crab is usually a favorite dish but I just wasn’t impressed with the way this tasted, it was over-fried and over-salty. — lo mein — this had literally no flavor and the chicken in it was overlooked. I don’t really ever order Lo mein anyways but I was with my family and they’re fans. — Szechuan string beans — these were the best of the entrees, they were nicely crunchy and tasted super fresh. Also, the flavor was excellent. — wide rice noodles with beef(I just forget what these are called) — the flavor was okay and the beef was cooked nicely The service was alright and they served rainbow sherbet at the end of the meal(I didn’t eat it but the concept was cute). Altogether, I really did not enjoy the food much and it gave me a bit of a stomachache(maybe too much MSG?). I wouldn’t go there again but I’m sure its the right place for other people.

I frequently dine at Hunan as it is near my neighborhood. The food is very good and freshly prepared. They have a lot of vegetarian dishes. I especially like the spicy Mongolian hot pot(and it is bubbling hot). The service is always excellent. As a frequent diner they even have my wine choice memorized. If in Olney, stop by!

Vegetarians beware! The menu has one vegetable offering? In a Chinese restaurant even the tofu dish was written as being cooked in a meat sauce? The only fish on the menu was shrimp? Came here with a group from a class I take that wanted a nice outing, a few people raved how great this restaurant was… We were welcomed by the site of one whole table being used to clean string beans… isn’t that something that should be done in the kitchen? Ordered the vegetables and was extremely disappointed, bland, not appetizing and the rice appeared stale and unappealing. My table mates ordered, cashew beef, a shrimp dish and a lo-main dish, everything looked yucky. No one wanted to take their leftovers. Never have had such a terrible Chinese restaurant experience. So sad

I WANTMYMONEYBACK! This restaurant is beyond disappointing to me. The food was awful, and its not just me who thinks this, its 15 other people who I got take out with. The lomain was weird, huge noodles, awful color and taste, barely any sauce on them. The fried rice was like white with soy and the meat and Brocoli was disgusting. The meat looked weird, like it had veins or something just odd about it. Everything else was just as terrible. We literally took 3 bites and threw the food in the trash, mind you, I never throw food away!

Great spot for Peking Duck. I have been here twice in the past month, and both times the duck has been excellent. On weekend nights(Friday & Saturday) the duck is hand carved at your table while you watch. The egg drop and Hot and Sour soups are excellent. Chicken and Cashews was sweeter than other places, and very good. Great spot to get some drinks too — the volcano makes for a festive night!

The pecking duck is amazing here. The duck skin is crunchy and crisp. It is so delicious with the meat. The actual meat is soft and fatty. The only thing I really question is the cleanliness. I do wish he used gloves to cut the duck. I mean I understand some people feel it’s more authentic having someone cut the duck open with their bare hands. However, in today’s modern world, gloves will be nice. Also I would appreciate having the man, who cuts the duck barehanded, at least wear some sort of apron. His clothes was touching the duck from time to time when he was angling the duck to get a better grip. It just did not seem too clean when he was using his hands and his own clothes as a means of gripping and cutting the duck. I recommend their walnut shrimp. It is creamy, sweet and delicious. Their sizzling steak is a great thing to order as well. The steak is peppery and has great flavors!

Good cheap and juicy peking duck carved at your table! For under $ 30 it’s definitely a steal. It comes with spring onions, duck sauce, and pancakes. The seafood combination(under chef’s specials) is also tasty(and garlic-y) with plenty of scallops, fish, shrimp, and vegetables. Opens at 11:30 most days so come early to grab a table! I also believe they take phone ahead reservations for large parties.

Happy Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival! Time to buy some over-priced moon cake. My family always eats at Hunan Delight to celebrate special occasions and anytime we want Chinese food. Why? THEPEKINGDUCK! This is the highlight of all the entrees and for less than $ 30,the duck is cut into slices at your table, served with thin pancakes, scallions, and hoisin sauce. Many other dishes that have been consistently good include their pan-fried bird’s nest with a heap of stir-fried seafood on top, fried shrimp with sweetened walnuts, the amazingly tasty peppered steak served on a hot plate, the fried calamari, and sesame chicken that has just the right amount of sweet sauce. Whenever we arrive at Hunan Delight, the servers are always pleasant and accommodating to our large party. We are usually seated towards the back of the restaurant which has round tables that accommodate 10 people each. The servers always brings out fresh cooked rice when they see we run out and frequently refill our waters. Service is always to par with my expectations. Great prices. Great managers! Will no doubt be back soon with my family! Link:

Came here for my bf family bday dinner. They ordered three Peking ducks, one soup, beef chow fun, spinach and garlic, fried fish filet, and orange chicken. Soup was ok for Chinese soup… Gelatinous. Kinda bland. Had mushrooms, sliced snow peas, and little lobster/crawfish pieces. Next were the ducks. Four out of the five tables around us ordered owning duck. So I would imagine it to be more freshly cooked/roasted than the last time I came. And it was! The skin was nice and crispy. The meat was juicy. I just wish the guy cut the duck into more uniformed pieces. The scallions were really spicy… Maybe they were old? Either was they added a nice potent kick. Orange chicken was very orangey. Nice crisp on it. Spinach was spinach. They gave you a lot though. Chow fun was not very good at all. Neither was the filet of fish that was fried and covered with sauce. I wouldn’t come back for anything but the Peking duck. I believe it came out to 35 – 40 $ per duck. Which sounds high to me. Our total bill was 180 $. Four stars for Peking duck and two for everything else… Kinda works to three stars right??? :/

Perfect dinner for four: Sauteed Chinese broccoli with Garlic(10.50), Szechuan Crispy Fish Fillet(13.5), salt and black pepper scallop(15.95), half Peking duck(14.5) Peking duck and fish fillet were the highlights. Service was good and fast. Free scoop of ice cream at the end! Interior was nice. Definitely exceeded my expectation of what to expect in a strip mall around the area. My parents were happy with the overall experience and the reasonable prices so I’m happy. Yay for discovering more authentic Chinese restaurants in the area. Thanks Norman H for the suggestion!
