I’ve only been there twice now and found the food very tasty and well prepared. It is also very well priced. We just moved to Olney and I was hoping to find a reliable source of Chinese food and I hope we have.
Don’t go there for the customer service, the lady can seem quite brusque but just sounds abrupt, it’s just her way of talking. We got talking while I waited for my food and I could see that a lot of her seeming «rudeness» isn’t. She is Chinese born and has Chinese cultural norms and that does not equal American expectations about «The customer is always right» service.

Shanghai has always been good to us! They have always been polite and helpful. I’ve tried a lot of dishes here and I like their Thai food the best. It’s worth a try. Pick up is a lot faster than the delivery.

I wouldn’t order their wonton soup. It’s just wonton wrapper rolled up into a ball. There are no meat inside them at all. I would have requested a refund, but thought to warn you.

Dissapointed. but the food was always good in past — I have been ordering delivery from Shang Hai for years and always tipped very well, knowing myself to be on the outer bounds. Anyway, I called in today and was put on hold, only to be told I am too far. :(
In past I always liked their food and never had any problems as I see in some of the other reviews. I really appreciated I could order anything without meat and it was always tasty.
But if they can do a long time customer like that, I guess they must be under new management or something. Weird, the lady who always answered the phone before knew me by my voice and was always terrific. I guess I wont be ordering there anymore. Too bad, I also really liked the guy they had delivering, always a big smile and wonderful service. I hope he is OK.

Last time I ordered delivery June of 2014, the scallops tasted spoiled. I called back and asked for a refund. they refused.dumb… although I had been a regular customer for 5 years, I give them no more of my money.
So, they saved 10 on the refund lost 500 over the next 2 years… smart business! Now I order from penang star…

I’ve been in the area for 8 years and have passed this place multiple times but never stopped. I’ve had a few of the other Chinese food spots and have not enjoyed a single one. This is the best Chinese place in Olney hands down.

I’ve been ordering here for more than ten years and its always consistently delicious. Owners change but the food change is minimal and often for the best. Fast delivery and plenty of choices.
I recommend the sesame chicken.
It’s the best delivery Chinese in town. Hunan delight is garbage.

I got sick off their food in the past twice. Also, they have the WORST customer service ever. I went to ask for some soy sauce and a small plastic ramekin and was turned away unless I ordered more food. When I tried reasoning with the lady, she was very rude and dismissive and ignored me completely.
By the way, this is the same place that has had various health code violations.
Unless you want food that might make you sick or with an extremely rude person behind the counter, eat elsewhere. God forbid they made a mistake on your order… they’d probably want to charge you for correcting their mistake.

Worst Chinese food in Olney. It tastes like crap meat or something. It’s always overcooked and bland flavor. The soup is terrible. Go to Hunan Delight or drive to Rockville for much better Chinese fare. The owners and workers are rude. They didn’t let me use my credit card for takeout because I had a $ 9 order not $ 10… They don’t have an ATM either. Made me drive to one… All to get my cold overcooked meal. Yuck

On 9÷13÷2010 I wrote a review of this restaurant. I am here to amend that review. After 3 years of getting excellent food and service, I was shocked when the person I usually spoke to, Wei, informed me that their driver did not speak English and would not be able to deliver my order this evening. Wei went on to tell me that they were no longer delivering to Leisure World, or any of the buildings in this area between Rossmoor and Olney which required the driver to speak to anyone.
I am totally amazed that a business would cut off its service and potentially lose thousands of dollars a week. I told Wei I was naturally disappointed, and she said I should look for another place that delivers. Who does that to a good and loyal customer?

This place has great food I really recommend trying this place!!! I get food from these people a lot. Oh and the people there are really nice to that’s always an up side right. Oh in case you don’t believe me they even know me there and know what i want to and yeah I don’t get a chance to cook a lot.

I pass this place everyday coming and going to work. I’ve always loved Chinese but when you find one you like you tend to stick with them. It took me about a year and I finally went ahead and ordered from them. While I think the prices may be a bit high, you do get a lot of food and so dinner and lunch for at least a couple of days. I would recommend anyone to go and try it for yourself.
