I have to say that Garmin took me through some sketchy parts of Oakland too get to Jack London square. Yes, Scotts is expensive, but it is oh so good! This was my second time. The place has an old world elegance… very comfy. I had seabass that was to die for. .perfectly cooked with a nice sauce. The veggies were perfect. There was a mellow jazz combo playing in the restaurant’s bar that lilted through the dinner area. If you are willing to splurge a little, you will be rewarded. P. S. The service was very attentive.

SCOTT’S on Jack London Square This has been over the many years a favorite for family and friends. The views are outstanding and I really like validated Valet parking. Exceptional seafood and a few exceptional aged prime New York cut steak(1 lb.) or a Filet Mignon(10oz). This is a place where everything on your plate has gotten the full attention it deserves and the greens have a snap to them the shouts freshness. Wine list is not the best but they allow corkage. I think casual elegance is ok but dressing up will make it seem like an occasion. Oysters Rockefeller were excellent but I usually have them by the dozen on the half shell. Although this is a seafood restaurant, the USDA Prime corn fed, dry aged steaks are something out the ordibnary with their affordable mid-fourty prices. The clam chowder is good. Key Lime pie was the best I have ever tasted. Service was very superior. Bread was excellent. In my opinion, the best months for seafood have an «R» in them. In October, they have an «Old Fashion Clam Bake» be sure and ask when you are considering a reservation. Window and patio seating are on a first-come first-serve basis but tell them its your wife birthday and she wants a Harbor view when making resevations well in advance.
Food was great, server was on it. Halibut and salmon perfect. Low key Birthday acknowledgement and sweet photo was taken and given to us.
