Definitely a local’s favorite! Looks old & janky inside but the dim sum is one of the best in Chinatown! Don’t judge the place before trying their food. There’s always usually a wait at this location for dim sum, but it does die down at around 1 to 2! Weekends are always going to be even more packed, so plan ahead! Parking is going to difficult as there’s only street meter parking, unless you decide to park at parking lot which is about 2 blocks away from this location.

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years and years and it has not failed my expectations a single time. The food is always amazing and very authentic. I strongly recommend the fried flounder and the fried breaded frog meat. I also recommend the seafood treasure and the beef with ginger and green onions. The food is a little pricy but totally worth it. Also, parking is usually pretty limited so you might have to walk a few blocks to get to the restaurant.

I went here today and the dishes were salty. We come here quite often for family gatherings. This is our spot and you should know us by now? The food was salty and the bill came to be quite expensive. We had 10 people and the bill came to $ 200 something. Than I starting going over the bill. 10%-15% tip was already added to the bill. This is wrong! We will pay you a tip if the service is decent or good. The owner can’t force us to pay the tip. You’re gonna force customers to go elsewhere. The economy is bad! Is this how you want to take advantage of loyal customers? WTF is up!!! I am steaming mad!!!

I really had a good dim sum experience here. The servers were better than normal. This means that they gave us tea and helped us order things that were not on the cart. I liked their chive dumplings a lot. Very good flavor and their lotus rice was fresh and not full of fat. Their shrimp wide rice noodles were full of big shrimp and fresh. Overall I really liked the food here and I think this is one of the best I’ve found in Oakland for dim sum so far.

Food was quiet good. Everything was tasty. Went at a busy time with high turnover of people going through. A lot of things were made just minutes ago. If you know what you want and don’t see it, try asking a waitress. The kitchen apparently makes things upon request. I’m not sure if the waitresses speak English tho. Someone who spoke Cantonese ordered for the group. I should mention this is the type of dim sum place they push carts around and you ask for as many dishes as you want. They mark it on a bill which you pay at the end. Prices were good. Went with a group of 3. Tried 11 things total. We were stuffed and the bill was around $ 35. Least favorite thing was atmosphere. Loud. Chaotic. Couldn’t hear person next to me.

Pretty good Chinese food. Went on a Sunday night and it was full, but only waited 5 minutes for a table. Catfish with bean curd in clay pot — 4 stars Peking spareribs — 4 stars String beans — 3.5 stars Price ~ $ 35 for all 3 plus rice. Not bad! Service is ok, but had to ask for our rice twice and our string beans took forever to come out. However, they gave us free soup and dessert(sweet boba soup). That’s always nice :) OVERALL: Good Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Would definitely wanna come back for some dim sum!

They do not do Dim Sum for dinner, no worries their dinner menu is great. My hubby devoured the beef short ribs. I had the best ever pot eggplant(I had shrimp added). The whitest did speak enough English. What an amazing dinner spot!!!

Took my kids here last weekend and they were satisfied. As first timers with such dimsum experience(with passing food carts/trays), they loved the service and everything. We may not speak chinese but it was easy enough to get or order what we wanted. We came around lunch rush hour and had to wait 20 – 30 minutes to get seated but it was worth the wait. The kids enjoy everything we got. We’ll come back ;)

When it come to dim sum, I am a fan of this place. The combination of price and quality are agreeable with me. I also like that they serve dim sum from steam carts here. Most dishes are 3 or 4 pieces. The ha gow and shrimp rice rolls were pretty good. I liked the spare rib a lot. It didn’t have as much black bean, but had some savory taro. Siu Mai is okay. Taro puff and deep fried pork dumpling were solid. Wasn’t huge on the steamed pork bun. The pineapple buns were not great either. Service is a little mixed. Be careful to not let your teapot go amiss. But overall, prices are good and the atmosphere lively.

The bathrooms are sketchy. The waitresses don’t speak English. The crowd is 98% Asian people, over half of which are old. But what matters is the food. And it’s good(and very, very cheap). I went with two of my friends for brunch on a Saturday. Get there before 11, it starts to get really crowded and you will have to wait for a table. We ordered har gau, siu mai, ha cheong fan, and chin toi. The food wasn’t as good as it usually is, but it was still very yummy. The skin on the har gau was a little too chewy and sticky, the siu mai were a little smaller than when I last went, but the ha cheong fan and chin toi hit the spot. The bill before tip for all three of us was $ 13 and we left a $ 3 tip. There is a parking garage two blocks away, it was $ 2. Overall, an authentic, good dim sum experience!

Great cheap place for dimsum. Don’t expect something super good but decent and priced right. Try the spare ribs dish it has taro at the bottom which is very tasty. If you want a place that is decent and not burn a hole in your wallet come here.

My go-to authentic dimsum joint :) Some tips — Don’t arrive too early(say. 9 am on a weekend). Sometimes they serve older stuff from the day prior… But by 9:30 or 10am, you’ll have all the awesome fresh dimsum wheeled around in the little carts. If you are impatient, you may be seated along with other customers on a big table, but if it doesn’t bother you it won’t be a problem. Food: — Get their ribs! They come with taro and after they’ve soaked in wonderful rib juices and black bean sauce, it’s a savory heaven. — Great jumbo juicy shrimp in dumplings and chang-fun(not sure about the name. it’s one of those white blanket looking«noodles» that comes with 2 – 3 shrimps inside.) — They have *steamed* turnip/daikon cake! They are served in clear bowls, and within the turnip cakes, there are actual strips of fresh turnips. Soft, savory, and simply wonderful with a dash of soysauce. Whenever my family visits, we always hit up this spot. Can’t recommend it enough!

One of my favorite places in Oakland Chinatown. This place is cheap and tasty. Solid for both dim sum and dinner. Dinner: Complimentary soup! Steamed fish — fish is fresh and tender Stir-fried green onion & lamb — Huge portions of meat! Not the best cut but it is darn good comfort food. Free dessert at the end! It’s usually some form of tapioca soup. Dimsum: They end their dim sum service at 2:30PM but were kind enough to serve my huge party even though we got there when they were already cleaning up. Service is pretty quick and they accommodates big groups. I came with a party of 13 and they were able to seat us no problemo!

It’s my first time coming here w/my Latina friend. We wanted to have dim sum at an actual Chinese Restaurant instead of fast food dim sum stores. After reading many reviews for this location. I decided to give this place a try. Arrival: We got there a little before 10am and was seated immediately. The table could accomodate 4 but we’re the only ones at this table(of 2 seats) and we sat comfortably. Hot tea, cups, plastic chopsticks and clean plates upon sitting. I ordered in Cantonese when a food cart passed by. There were some items which were unavailable at the moment. Sin zuk gyun(Bamboo Tofu Skin Roll) and Char Siu Bao(BBQ Pork Bun). Below is list of what I did order. Food Cart: Server usually calls out what he/she carries on that particular cart. Is covered when passing through narrow space between tables and people. Food is hot-warm when you order steamed dim sum. Dim Sum: Siu Mai(Pork Dumpling) — Like any other place. Xiao Long Bao(Soup Dumpling) — Where’s the broth/soup inside? It’s always expected when you order this. ** Har Gow(Shrimp Dumpling) — Stuffed w/deveined shrimp. Skin is chewy but not hard. I will get two steam trays of this next time. =) Fung Zaau(Chicken Feet) — Is alright, 1 of 4 pieces look and tasted out of place. Kinda like they just put it there from another batch. ** Lo Mai Gai(Steamed sticky rice w/chicken in lotus leaf wrap). — The chicken filling is well seasoned and plenty. Found mushroom inside too. But. I did find a shrimp shell. Wtf? I don’t remember tasting shrimp meat in the lo mai gai. Besides that, it’s good and you should try it. Cheong Fun(Rice Noodle Roll) — Had beef flavor, bland, light sweet soy sauce makes it tastes better. Not a lot of filling. Later Dim Sum: **Daan Taat(Egg Tart) — Cute bite-sized pieces. Took home leftovers, tasted great then and hours later. Getting more. **Deep Fried Shrimp Dumpling — They are also stuffed w/shrimp. Literally the whole puff is filled w/shrimp, same like the har gow. ** = recommended Servers: They stop and ask if we’d like some items from their serving tray or food cart when they pass by. The dim sum plates on serving tray are covered when circulating around. Restroom: There’s only ONE bathroom stall for women. Waited a few minutes to get in. At one point there were 3 – 4 people waiting and it was hard for workers to pass us on way out their kitchen. Food was decent. Some items I recommend and would definitely order those again when I return. Everything was around $ 25 +Tip. 7 bamboo steam trays, 1 regular plate, 2 desert plate and 1 soda. Good price for eat-in dim sum.

Cheap dimsum, obviously not the highest quality of dimsum but we definitely enjoyed it for its price. Normally wait time is not too bad at all either. If you’re a small group, they might just seat you in a larger table with another party, but hey you get your food faster! Food can be a hit or a miss. I come here a lot and most times it is fresh. The last time I went the pork ribs with taro was dry and sui mai tasted like it was sitting there for while. I don’t recommend the chives dumplings just because everytime we get it, the rice skin(outer layer) is always so, so thick.

SOOOCHEAPANDYUMMY! For 4 people, the bill comes out to about $ 20!!! And we eat soooo many dishes of dim sum. At any other place, the tab would be about $ 60. It’s great quality too. Not the biggest fan of anything in their carts that are baked ie buns, egg tarts. However, it isn’t the cleanest. You may have to share the big round table with other people. You have to ask for water.

My boyfriend’s family always eats here twice a year for dinner and I enjoy it all the time. Service is whatever, since you do have to kind of yell for them. Other than that, the food is really good. Since we always order tons of food, there’s alot of choices to choose from. It can get cramped and packed in here though, but just remember that the food makes up for it!

I came here for some dim sum with Boyfriend and two of our mutual friends on the loose recommendation of my dad, who directed me to this place because«all the other good dim sum places have shut down, but this one’s okay.» Not a rousing endorsement, but we went nonetheless. They seated us fairly quickly(we got here about 12:30PM-1PM), and we set about ordering. We ended up getting 11 dishes with the total coming out to just under $ 32! Not bad for a dim sum place. We ordered shrimp and beef cherng fun(rice noodle rolls), shumai(pork dumplings), har gow(shrimp dumplings), beef spare ribs, these deep fried shrimp dumplings with a mayonnaise-like dipping sauce, deep fried taro balls, ham sui gok(deep fried pork dumplings — seeing a trend here?), egg tarts, stuffed green peppers and mango pudding. Everything was pretty delicious, with my personal favorite going out to the deep fried shrimp dumplings(this is one of the few places I’ve gone with my family prior that serves them), mainly because I love the mayonnaise dipping sauce. The egg tarts here were also some of the BEST egg tarts I’ve ever had. Sweet custard, and the shell was flaky and light. Hands down, though, the winner for me of the day was the mango pudding. Not as sweet as you would think it would be, even with the evaporated milk poured over the top of it. I pretty much inhaled it. I wouldn’t order the spare ribs again. Unfortunately, not much flavor to it and it was almost entirely bone — no meat at all, really! It was the only dish we didn’t completely clear off. I would have to agree with my dad. The dim sum here is okay — not hands-down amazing, but not a horrible, horrible place that shouldn’t be touched with a ten foot pole either. I would come back again and bring people back as well. It’s decent dim sum sort of near the edge of Chinatown, with ample parking if you’re willing to walk a few blocks(or park at the underground parking garage at the Pacific Renaissance Plaza — it’s dirt cheap!).
