Came here with my wife for a late dinner to celebrate our 15 yr anniversary. The service is excellent, food is even better! Had the regular cut prime rib with mashed potato and veggies. I would recommend a petit cut if you plan on having dessert though. FYI, watch out for the horse radish cause its the same color as the mash potato and it could fall right next to it! Yea I got a mouth full of horse radish instead of potato! Lol The bread is nice and warm with garlic and butter, but try not to eat too much cause you’ll get full fast! Highly recommend this place!

We celebrated our daughters college graduation by having dinner at Kincaids. We live out of the area and did much searching for a NICE seafood and steak restaurant with a view of the bay. Kincaids met our expectations. The interior was beautiful. The backside of the building was wall to wall windows, so we had an excellent view of sailboats and yachts. Such a beautiful day. The food and appetizers were amazing. Our waiter was helpful and knowledgeable of drinks and the menu. He met any accommodations or substitutions requested. Everyone’s first experience was met. We will definitely return to Kincaids in Jack London Square. Parking validation too!

After having a less than fantastic(aka horrible) experience at Kincaid’s sister restaurant(Skates by the Bay in Berkeley), we decided to give this place a shot. Their happy hours are pretty similar and we wanted a nice place with a good view to watch the game, so we opted for Kincaid’s. We were not disappointed! The service we received at the bar was phenomenal. Attentive, friendly, and prompt. Our drinks were made quickly and with a smile. Every single person we encountered during our visit was phenomenal(and this isn’t just because of the terrible experience we had at the other place). The food was great also! The warm crab dip was the best part, hands down. Their wings are delicious. The lavendar cosmo was the tastiest drink I’ve had in a long time. I comment Kincaid’s for changing our mind on this corporation. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be visiting again! Also– I left a review on here regarding our experience at Skates, and it was promptly taken down. I wish they would address these issues as necessary. It’s obvious that Kincaid’s thinks of every guest as an important guest and it showed in their quality of service.

Boned again by Kincaids. Well I can’t comment on the food because I didn’t get any. Went in to the bar for lunch. I was told that they couldn’t serve me. Why? I have to wait until 3. But I was willing to order from the Bar menu. I complained and all I got was«sorry.» So I left, never to darken their door again.

Came here on a whim for dessert and to watch the finals, Warriors vs Oaklahoma. No reservations, no problem, we sat at the lounge to watch the game. I guess you’ve gotta reserve seats at this place. Rude hostess, girl change your stank attitude. Ordered the pear bread pudding, not as good as grandma’s but still so delectable, no complaints here. The sauce that comes with the bread pudding had the right amount of bourbon?(not sure what they used but it was bomb). Despite the crowd of Warriors fans the servers were prompt and friendly despite all the excitement. I always appreciate and commend those in the hospitality services who go above and beyond to make the dining experience more enjoyable. The host/greeter needs to change her attitude though as I mentioned before. Will definitely need to come back to try their dinner menu. A perfect spot for celebratory dinners or even a date :)

Love the clam chowder and wings. I lived in the south for a bit and think they do a pretty good job with their catfish. We sit in the lounge/bar for quicker service. There are high tables and standard tables in the bar area. There is also a TV as well. We prefer this side unless we’re hosting a work related group.

So I used my groupon for lunch as it was nearing the expiration date. I had coconut shrimp appetizer that was so over cooked some of the coconut was burnt. I had ceasar salad with salmon add on that was tasty but greasy and quite small(the add on fish that is). Service was great though I do think they could save money with the bread I did not need bread for a table of 4. I was dining alone perhaps bread could be given upon request depending on the number of people dining.

Kincaids is a so so place. Sometimes the food is great. Other times I vow never to go back. Kincaid’s is really a trial & error type of place. Sometimes it’s a good and delicious experience. Other times it’s a major bummer. The service is usually great and that helps out and there are a few dishes cooked up that are quite tasty. They’ve got a decent bar, and the waterfront views are nice. On the end it’s w hit & miss. Personally I think their main menu needs to change more often. If you don’t like any of the specials you’re stuck with an old menu of choices with only a few being good. All in all, Kincaid’s is a hit and miss kinda place. Good, but not 4 stars good.

Sister restaurant of Horatio’s in San Leandro. A fine dining american restaurant that mainly serves seafood. The menu was similar(of course) to Horatio’s. FOOD: We ordered the following: Crab & artichoke dip — hands down delish. Seafood Paella — I like the freshness of the seafood, i.e. prawns, Manila clams, etc. The sauce was not that extraordinary though. Mahi-mahi — my friend ordered this and she liked it. I got to try the sauce and it was a little spicy which I like. CUSTOMERSERVICE: Excellent. The waiter was friendly, funny and fast. AMBIENCE: My most favorite part. Awesome and classy. I love the view of the waters.

I barely give out 1 stars, but this place deserves it. Arrived on time for dinner reservations and was seated next to a birthday party(when tons of seats including window seats were available) children were there and kept Turning around trying to touch my wine glass(ighhhhh) the waiter came to the table shortly to bring water and take drink orders, I asked to be moved immediately from a seat I should have never been given I reminded her that I was celebrating my babes birthday and that it was a special day for us both, she was really nice moved us to another table that was just not a good seat but better than where I was. The drinks were good. I sent my food back for being over cooked smh ! But the waiter did take it off of my tab and gave us both complimentary key lime pies which just weren’t my favorite, I hate that I didn’t get the full experience or that maybe my expectations were too high or something !!! Anyways we will not be going back… The lobster bisque is really delicious the calamari is to heavy and greasy, the seafood pasta was not great and the seafood was rubbery !! Just an overall bad experience for me and my babe. Ugh !!

Recently, my mentor, Bill Woolfolk, joined me here for a wonderful meal . Regina, my favorite bartender, made her(world famous) delicious«work-of-art» Bloody Mary. She mentioned that it had been a few months since my last visit. I told Regina that I’d written a Unilocal review about her great attitude and service. She seemed surprised and said management didn’t mention it and she hadn’t seen it. I encouraged her to read it and hope she has by now. Don’t people who create«raving fans» deserve to know that? Someone in management replied to my original review, but apparently, didn’t share it. Please(managers) congratulate your staff on creating a great experience for guests. Kincaids is consistently worth coming back BECAUSE of your staff. Please express gratitude to(front and back of the house) employees from the customers who may not tell them directly. We appreciate what they do. Thank you for giving us delicious meals and beautiful memories.

Location is lovely with a view of the harbor but from there it kind of went downhill a bit. My reservation said there was a «Birthday» and not once were we asked«Who has the Birthday» and when we mentioned a Birthday there was no further comment like«Happy Birthday» ! One person had a drink, Bloody Mary and we even asked«do you have a Vodka preference, which she provided and when the drink arrived we all asked«where is the Vodka». Our server was kind of fake«perky» and not too concerned about our meal, as you will see below. One person had the Lobster and Crab Scramble which was described as «In a Puff Pastry» when in reality it was just spooned on to a puff pastry slice. Potatoes were room temp at best. Another person had the Open Face Crab sandwich which she enjoyed. Third person had the«Smoked Salmon Benedict» House-cured fresh smoked salmon, puff pastry«muffin», crème fraîche, caviar. Well the so called«Fresh Smoked Salmon» was not smoked but soaked in «Smoke Sauce» or something like that and was so inedible, my friend ended up w/2 poached eggs on a puff pastry. No «Caviar» in site. We complained to the waitress and she thought we were being sarcastic and giggled and smiled. I piped in, no it’s «Not Good», note the big pile of Salmon«all of it» on the side. She said, oh, I will let my Manager know. That was the end of that… not even an offer to replace or take off the menu, Thank you very much. Again, the potatoes were«warm». I had the Wellington which was delicious but the Smoke Gouda Sauce was cold and served on the side, again potatoes were«warm» ! I think maybe Kincaid’s has lost it’s JuJu a bit and sadly, I won’t be returning and will instead send my business to Scotts next time I’m in the area. Restaurant was almost empty but Scotts was kicking it… When a customer has a comment(good, bad or indifferent) I think servers should be trained or smart enough to pass this on to management.

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday and had a so-so experience… I was seated and offered water very quickly, which was nice. The waiter took my order in a timely fashion and my food arrived within about 15mins. I ordered the half salad(Caesar)/Half sandwich(open faced crab sandwich) special and a cup of the lobster bisque. The sandwich was pretty good but I was not a fan of the soup. Although the service was provided within a reasonable time, it seemed like the staff was a little discombobulated that particular day. The food was ok, but I think you are paying for the location and the view more so than the the quality of food. The bar area overlooks the jack London marina which is really nice. I will have to try the dinner menu and update my review.

I went to 4 different restaurants during Oakland restaurant week(don’t judge me) and Kincaid’s was my favorite! Great service, large portions, and a gorgeous view of the water. I ordered the smoked salmon shower — YUM! It was so rich and creamy… Mmm…I ate it all up. For my appetizer, I selected the applewood smoked pork chop. I kind of wish I ordered the salmon instead because it was beautifully cooked. Anyway, the pork chop was cooked really well but the smoky flavor was overpowering. The scalloped potatoes and vegetables were cooked perfectly as well. Dessert(my favorite) was a huge surprise because we were served normal sized portions of 3 different desserts — key lime pie, pear pudding with ice cream, and crème brûlée. Everything was so tasty. I was so full at the end of the night! A must try! I definitely want to go back and catch their happy hour.

Me and my boyfriend came here for lunch and it was amazing. We sat right by the window and the view of the water was beautiful and relaxing. Our server was so nice, I wish I got her name lol We got bread while we waited for our meals and it was to die for! It was warm and moist like it had just came out of the oven. The food was really good as well. We signed up for the rewards program to get points so looks like we’ll be coming here more often. Let’s try dinner this time

Kincaid’s is right on a waterway leading to the Oakland Bay.(510) 835‑8600 The view across the waterway toward Alameda Island. This a very busy waterway with ship activity all days. The advance of the sunset can be bright enough to require the screens on the windows to be lowered by staff. Afterwards, the screens are raised, and then the view is very romantic and engaging. Kincaid’s is rated the number one Favorite Steak House in Oakland. The décor says seafood but steaks and rock salt roasted prime rib are very popular. The horseradish sauce is homemade and something a bit different. I like it and hope you will too. There is a parking garage, but most often, we book early so we can still get valet service, which is validated. We love to get the family or out of towners here for the great view, oysters, full bar, and ambience. They also have interesting desserts but for me, it is usually New York Style Cheesecake with seasonal berries. Kincaid’s is known for its excellent service, friendly and well-trained staff. The wine list is just«okay» with no exceptional offerings but Corkage is only $ 13 per bottle if you bring your own. Prices at lunch are more affordable. Open on Saturday and Sunday early for brunch. There is a First seating(early Bird) 3-Course Dinner Menu featuring Daily Soup, New England Clam Chowder or Iceberg Lettuce Wedge, Dinner Entrée with a homemade Dessert(Burnt Cream yummy) I highly recommend Kincaid’s at Jack London Square as a FUNSPOT.(I have not tried its five other locations.)

When my dad and I were trying to think of a place to take my mom for Mother’s Day, he brought up Kincaid’s because he had already taken her here for a lunch date(sans children), and she loved it. We were a little behind in planning this year(read: we were making Mother’s Day plans a week and half before), and I was nervous when I called to make a reservation, but the hostess managed to squeeze us in as a table for five at 8PM — perfect. We arrived a little before 8 and the place was packed. We checked in and they told us they were running behind, but would seat us as soon as possible because we had a reservation. As we waited, I saw other families walk in and end up walking right back out because they were booked up for the evening. At around 8:10, one of the hostesses came by, apologized for the wait, and then led us to a table. While we weren’t seated near the window, we were in a raised booth and could still get a good glimpse of the water. Maybe next time I’ll see if I can call early enough to specify a table by the window. Our waiter, Carlos A., came by and asked if we wanted anything to drink. Water seemed good for all of us, so he returned with ice water and bread. The next time he came around, he brought more bread(my two younger brothers are on the track team and have an appetite to match), and we ordered the following: 2 calamari appetizers — 12.95/each half dozen raw oysters — 15.95 clam chowder — 8.95 I thought the calamari was just alright, didn’t partake of the oysters(but my parents and brothers loved them), and the clam chowder got the seal of approval from my youngest brother. Our waiter came to pour it out of a silver gravy boat right into a bowl in front of him, but I think he put a little too much pepper since my brother wasn’t paying attention and forgot to tell him to stop, lol. chicken Dijon — 21.95 salmon — veggies + mashed potatoes — 31.95 2 seafood etoufees — 29.95/each prime rib 12 oz — 16 oz Kincaid — 36.95 Everyone loved what they ordered, but I had a pretty interesting experience while tucking into my prime rib. There was nothing wrong with it — the blame lies solely with me and the side dishes… or just me, really. The prime rib came with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. At first I thought that the cooks were a little sloppy in plating everything because a dollop of mashed potatoes ended up a couple of inches away from the largest mass. In my haste, I scooped it up and then piled a little bit more onto my fork before eating. All of a sudden I had the most horrible burning sensation on my tongue. My eyes widened as I realized that the original dollop of mashed potatoes was sitting that far removed because it wasn’t in fact mashed potatoes; it was a mass of slightly pureed horseradish. I didn’t want to spit it out into my cloth napkin, so I grabbed my glass of water and gulped it down. I started eating more mashed potatoes(for sure this time!) in order to mask the taste of raw horseradish. Eventually, the taste disappeared and I was left with a slightly upset stomach. Le sigh. I am not always the sharpest crayon in the box, unfortunately. We opted out of dessert, way too stuffed to even take a peek at the menu. Carlos offered to validate our parking when he brought the bill(without validation — parking in the Washington Street Garage is $ 1.25/hour; with validation it is $ 0.75/hour) and we left pretty satisfied. I can see why my mom likes this place, but I don’t think there’s necessarily anything that makes it stand out… not even the horseradish.

Located In Jack London Square, Kincaid’s is right on the water’s edge offering a great view of the Estuary from any table in the restaurant. We were here for happy hour in the lounge, but it was closed for a private event. But the host offered us seating in the dining room for Happy Hour, which was nice. Our waitress brought us our complementary warm buttered focaccia bread and took our drink order as we checked out the menu and decided to order two items from the happy hour menu and an entrée from the regular menu. Our order: Oven Roasted Crab and Artichoke Dip — a tasty oven roasted dip with good amount of crab for the slices of baguette that came with the order. I even put some on the complementary focaccia. French Dip Sliders — two sliders to the order with a side of homemade potato chips. Beef was tender and moist. Bacon-wrapped Meatloaf — a moist tasty slice of meatloaf was topped with two large slices of maple bacon and roasted mushrooms including Portobello sitting on top a bed of Yukon mash potatoes with a brandy mustard sauce. The entrée included a side of squash and peppers. Enjoyed the Happy Hour menu and an item off the regular menu. Friendly service in a nice atmosphere.

Beautiful Sunday in September in the S.F. Bay Area! Looked at several menus in the area, decided on Kincaid’s. Seated at a corner window table after a 2 – 3 minute wait. La Diabla and I looked at the bloody mary bar when we entered. We decided that a bloody mary would be a good place to start. You choose your vodka and how spicy you want it. They bring the drink to the table with the vodka in a shot glass on the side. You add what you want at the bloody mary bar. Pickled beans, onions, hot sauce, celery, bacon, horse radish, and a variety of hot sauces. Kewl! Brunch menu with a nice selection of sandwiches, salads, seafood, burgers, etc. I decided on the Montecristo since I’m on the hunt for one as good as Disney’s closer to home! La Diabla got the steakburger. Service is professional without being overbearing. Water is only given is asked, we are in a drought! The Montecristo is huge! Not as good as Disney’s but very good. I ate only half. La Diabla’s burger was more well than medium rare as requested but very tasty. Overall, a lot of food for the price. Great service and the bloody mary bar is a blast!

I use to go to Kincaids and Horatio’s quite often but it has been awhile. So when my cousins from Boston were coming for a last minute visit, I thought it would be a good choice showing them Jack London and having a nice water view with dinner. It is sad to say that our experience was quite disappointing. I had reservations at 5:15 and we arrived a little early at 5:05. Although the restaurant itself was completely empty, our table was not even ready and we had to wait for them to push tables together. When I requested to also take a look at their early dining menu that ends at 5:30 as an option, the hostess was very hesitant and then said well, I guess you still have 15 minutes and came back with only 3 menus. The prices have definitely gone up since my last visit which I don’t mind paying a few extra bucks especially since I understand ingredient prices may have gone up on the supplier side as well. One of my pet peeves is when price goes up but the quality of food goes down. It was a good thing I dissuaded our guests from the clam chowder since they live in New England as it was so salty that it was really hard to even finish it. My dad’s fish and chips barely had much fish underneath the batter of the 3 small pieces he received. The reason why I am not giving it less stars is our server was so sweet and accommodating that when my mom wanted just grilled prawns which is no longer on their menu, she said they can make it for her over mashed potatoes so she at least enjoyed her meal. The desserts were good but overall the rest is just mediocre for the price.
