I went through the drive thru and I could barley hear the employee through the intercom. So I drove up to the window to speak with her face to face. She then proceded to tell me that she could not take my order face to face and told me to go back to the inercom when I could not because there were multiple cars behind me. Therefore she said she couldn’t take my order so I left. Probably one of the worst drive thru experience I’ve ever been through.

The manager on duty today need to change attitudes. If she doesn’t like to service or not understand English just take higher education classes.

The food was fine. As good as you would expect from any Popeyes. Tender, moist, cruchy, and spicy. If it was just about the food, this would be 5 stars… but sadly people are involved. Customer service is terrible. The person taking our order could barely hear us and was busy having a conversation with other Co workers… like we were an interuption. If my entire job wasn’t customer service maybe I wouldn’t know what it should look like. I get that it’s a fast food joint, but come on people have a little pride in your work and in yourself.

Walked up to the counter, said all I wanted is a 12 piece meal. I walked over to the stools behind the spice jars they got for décor. My boy says hey daddy what is that stuff? I says well, corn meal, that’s cajun pepper… I stopped and noticed there was little moth worms in the peppers with adult moths. I told them that’s disgusting and got my refund and never went back. Garbage on the floor, chicken crumbs and greasy tables. A homeless man digging for refuse to gnaw on the chicken bones. I love popeyes chicken but this place has got to clean it up.

This was my first time at Popeyes. I liked the chicken. There was a little wait for them to make one of the sides. The place was well decorated for Halloween and I enjoyed seeing the cute decorations. I tried the spicy chicken and liked it. The mild tenders had a little kick. The staff seemed friendly and like they were having a good time. I didn’t try any of the sides or biscuits. They didn’t perk my interest.

I really like Popeyes but most of the locations are let me down. They should call this location«we ant got no chicken» because I’ve heard them tell me that at least three times. The tenders I ordered had parts of the batter still not cooked but it’s still Popeyes so two stars for that.

What more can I say, Popeye’s chicken is amazing! The service and experience is, I want to say, average… moderate? It’s definitely not terrible for service and experience but I guess if it doesn’t bother me, there’s nothing wrong. The food helps give any Popeye’s location a 5 star!

Decided to order a family meal yesterday, with 2 sides when I came to this location. Ran some errands, got home, waited for my bf to get home so we could eat dinner together. Finally got to making my plate to open a bag of deliciously smelling food with absolutely no biscuits in it –_-…None…This is like the best part of getting Popeyes! They remembered to toss some packets of honey and hot sauce in the bag though. So I called the store once, no answer. I called twice, no answer. I called a third time and there was still no answer and no voicemail system either! I should have gone with my instincts and checked for everything in my bag before pulling off!

This place sucks. Gave them 2 chances and they are always out of something and they mess up your orders.

I love Popeyes, BUT this is the worst Popeyes ever. Some of the workers here have attitude problems. Again, you can blame the area and the people they deal with on a daily basis. They work really slow, almost purposely. I bought an pie here recently and it was hard as a rock, like its been sitting there for days. When I asked for another on they lady rolled her eyes and said I have to wait another 5 minutes like it was my fault that pie been sitting there. I only come here because it’s closer to where I live, but I would recommend the one in Downtown.

I hadn’t been there in years. I ordered the Jambalaya. It was horrible. It was just a bowl of rice with tomato sauce mixed in it. It was NOTHING like the picture! I make real Jambalaya and the main ingredients are«sausage, shrimp, chicken, liver, celery, onions, tomato sauce or paste and various other spices. For $ 4.99, they just gave me a bowl of rice with tomato sauce stirred in. Highly disappointed!

One of the worst Popeye’s around. They frequently forget things like sauce or forks, in your drive-thru order, so ALWAYSDOUBLECHECK your order before pulling away. You’ll have to ignore the cantankerous sounding woman at the drive thru, who’s tone sounds like you’re bothering her. And she won’t bother to tell you the price or confirm your order, so(in her words) «just pull up». The mashed potatoes and gravy is usually extra(too) spicy, the mac & cheese is watery(seriously???) But, they still manage to do the chicken ok, most of the time! That’s why we keep giving them multiple tries. Because everything we complain about in this review is super fixable… once the right employees come along!!!

Slow service but the chicken is juicy and hot! Past couple times I’ve come here there would be something missing from my order, so that’s why I’m giving this place 2 stars. This place is better then the Popeyes on international blvd. These 2 guys would not leave me alone as my window was up nor would they back off my car. Both Popeyes are creepy lookin tho!

Love Popeyes’ food, but after visiting this location 4 times in the last month, I’m DONE! Each time I’ve visited, the same rude chick has been manning the drive thru. Always interrupts when I’m speaking, then asks me after each item if I’m done yet ! Well, I’m definitely«done» now, dearie! The final straw came tonight with the same rude attitude and NO sauces ATALL for the shrimp, fish and chicken I ordered. NOT recommended

Definitely the best fast food fried chicken in this area, they have an excellent menu and slightly cheaper prices than KFC. Whenever I come here, I choose to dine in, the lobby is usually clean and the staff is always friendly. The window workers here are hit and miss, some are cool, others are rude, but regardless; they are all really slow on their orders. There are quite a few tasty items on the menu, but my favorites are always the Spicy Bonafide chicken, fresh biscuits, and apple pie. Always be sure to order the chicken fresh, the meat will be moist and tender, and the skin will perfectly crisped. Also, make sure that you pick up a gallon of their sweet tea, lemonade, or hawaiian punch on your way out :)

This chicken joint is not in the best of neighborhoods, but I don’t see anyone putting a Popeye’s chicken store in Montclair anytime soon. This store has a drive by … i mean drive thru, but I go inside instead. I think out of all the chicken chain stores, Popeye’s is probably the best. Maybe Church’s and KFC in last place. The store is decently clean inside and there is no line when I go. I think all those meal deals and sides are a bit of a rip, being that the sides are all dinky and many times the containers are not filled all the way up. I’m here for chicken, and I get the 8 piece chicken order. Just chicken in a box, that’s all I want. I forgot the exact price, but it’s similar to the same fried chicken at supermarket delis, around $ 8.00. I get it to go and off I go. I did manage to wait till I got home to open the box, but the smell was tempting during the drive, just to pull over and open the box and chop into one of them thighs(my fave pieces). This location is not one of my normal hangouts, but it’s the easiest to get to from home. At home, no waiting, sit down at the table and have at it! I wish I got some fries with this. Deep fried chicken is something I’d never cook at home.

Have been to this location several times now, drive-up window and dinning inside, pleasant experience every time. You know that saying, «What goes around comes around»? Check YOUR attitude at the door. Take the time to say, «Thank You», especially if you see/feel someone is having a «bad» day or it’s close to closing time, they may be tied. We’ve ALL had these days, be kind. Now… For the food! LOVE Popeye’s! Especially those mashed potatoes & gravey & of course the chicken, ummm, ummm, ummm! Have to say though, I do like the coleslaw from KFC much better, sorry, Popeye’s, Have not found the inside to be dirty or having loud music. These may be issued that have since been addressed. Am looking forward to my next meal when in the area & I’m in the area often.

Tuesday Specials anyone?! 2 pieces for $ 1.49. I still remember… years and years ago, used to be $ 0.99 for 2 pieces! I don’t know why people will come here on any other day for fried chicken. I’ve always maintained that Popeyes better than KFC and this place proves it. As nice as the servers/cashiers are, please check your order before you leave. They sound irked when you go through the drive-thru but they lighten up when they deal with a non-angry/bossy customer. Just remember people, it’s FRIEDCHICKEN!!! The kitchen can get real HOT and tempers can get real short. Just be nice to them and they’ll be nice back to you. They are only humans after all. The thing that I don’t like is when other customers get upset that they have to «wait» for chicken. I’m thinking, it’s fresher!!! It’s not just sitting under a heat lamp for 8 hours waiting for you to pull up. Be grateful! I like this particular location. It’s not the prettiest, but it gets the job done and it’s usually on my way home. =)
