Great coffee, we’ve been going here for about a year every Tuesday to get our drip for home as its $ 2 off Tuesday. But today when I picked up my coffee I gave the lady my punch card like usual and she rang me up like usual except I didn’t get the $ 2 off because NOW it’s one or the other. So you either get your card punched or you get $ 2 off. Not ok in my book Honeymoon Bay especially since it’s always been together. So are you telling me on the other days with the other deals you have you don’t get your card punched then if you want the deal of the day? What’s the point of the cards or the deals if that’s the case? We specifically come on Tuesdays to get the discount & I’ve been able to use the discount and get my free bag of coffee if it’s fallen like that. I’m not happy with this new change & they need to rethink it cause I’m sure I’m not the only customer who you’ve upset by this change!

Essential«experience» based coffee shop. None better I can think of in terms of quality of the beans(of course, beans aren’t grown here, but they’re roasted on location), the brews are exceptional(I am exclusively a/an drip black /espresso drinker and I didn’t know espresso could be this tasty), and the quaint, relaxed, hipsterish-but-unpretentious environment completes the package of what Starbucks wishes it was. Ideal local café.

If you want good coffee, GOHERE! It has a very cozy vibe as well as a fantastic staff. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile and help almost immediately. Definitely one of the best places on the island. Coffee and prices are just what I’m looking for.

The best small-town coffee shop I’ve been to, and I’ve been to many all over the world. Have never had a bad cup here.

Best iced lattes I’ve ever had. I don’t know what they do to the coffee, but with regular syrup and regular milk going into a mocha or caramel latte, the great quality has to be due to the coffee. It’s just really good. On top of that, the staff here are amazing, warm people, and getting to see all the roasting equipment and buy the beans for yourself is a huge plus. It’s going to be very hard to go back to any other coffee after going to Honeymoon Bay every day for a week. If this is your regular coffee shop, know this: you are spoiled.

Best coffee — period! I don’t know what kind of voodoo they do with their in-house roasting, but it makes for an unbelievably good espresso, hot or cold. I’ve been loyal to Honeymoon Bay for about 3 years, and I bring everyone I know here — they’re all converts! I’m a coffee snob, and as a life-long Seattle child, I rank this ABOVE the lauded Espresso Vivace, whose coffee is legitimately the best in the Seattle area. Honeymoon Bay has something even smoother and more beautiful than anything else I’ve had. Here are some special things: — All of their iced drinks include ice cubes made from the previous day’s drip coffee remnants. That means no dilution, son. Pure coffee, even as your iced latte becomes less iced, it never becomes less latte. — In-house roasting means literally in-house, as in 15 feet away from the espresso machine. — They offer cold brew coffee, as well as sell the Toddy cold brew system so you can make your own. — Mike, the owner, is a fabulous and passionate coffee roaster who is frequently around the shop. This isn’t your average money-focused coffee shop, which is why it hides behind a Walmart next to a tanning place. They’re all about the coffee. I see their coffee in stores all over the island, and can’t wait for it to be distributed closer to major cities. I recommend getting an iced drink, if the weather and your taste permits. We are always treated well by Melissa and the rest of the HMB staff! PS — Get a punch card, buy 12 get one free.

Best coffee on Whidbey! They roast their own blends in house, and even offer organic water processed decaf, which can be difficult to find elsewhere, but they always carry it. Coffee never has a burnt or bitter taste, and if you order an iced coffee, they used iced coffee cubes instead of regular ice cubes. It makes a huge difference! The staff are friendly, knowledgable, and the ambiance is relaxed and pleasant due to comfy couches, chairs, and music. They offer punch cards for a free espresso with x number of coffees purchased; it is a hidden gem in Oak Harbor!

Cute vintage coffee shop behind Walmart. Tried a caramel nut latte with almond milk and it was completely amazing. Love the atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Definitely going to be a regular!

Good coffee, although not much of a pastry selection. Sitting area is limited, but the shop is charming.

Best coffee in town! This is absolutely my go to place for coffee. I love the coffee ice cubes no watered down taste for the end of you cup. The service is great and never have to wait forever to get my favorite morning brew. Great prices and love getting my fresh ground freshly roasted coffee for later!

Visited for the first time since they opened in 2011. I was initially intrigued by the concept of the store in a small naval town, claims they roast their own beans. However, when I checked for the roasting date on the packages for sale I couldn’t find such… I bet I’m missing something as they store personnel appear knowledgeable about roasting coffee beans Ambience is fairly relaxed, small town and it seemed as if the regulars were very friendly! There is a small round table as you walk in to fill your own cup, as many locals did; plus pastries available! Friendly service and great prices, a must for me when I’m looking for a non-Starbucks fix on Whidbey Island!

This place is a gem hidden away in a small strip mall behind a Walmart. It smells amazing when you walk in. Beans were being roasted when we arrived, and we were given a quick rundown of how it all works. The coffee was amazing!

What’s your favorite coffee brand? If you said anything other than Honeymoon Bay, you’re wrong. Go here. Try their coffee. If you don’t like it, you don’t know how to coffee.

Honeymoon Bay Coffee, is by far the best coffee in the area. Whether you buy a drink to go, or a bag of beans to brew at home, you just can’t beat this coffee.

Barista knows how to make a latte, complete with latte art and all. Always a good sign. But their decaf needs some work – has that«decaf» flavor which was a bummer.

Hands down the best coffee we’ve had in the Northwest! We stopped here daily during our visit to Oak Harbor. With such amazing locally roasted coffee here in town I find it hard to understand why anyone would line up at starbucks across the street. BOTTOMLINE: Great coffee. Hardly any line at all.

I was extremely impressed with the quality of the drinks they prepared. Handcrafted cups of awesomeness. The Espresso was not burnt but tasted as it should.

Top shelf coffee. The my double espresso was perfect! Good atmosphere and friendly staff. This is where you go for a carefully crafted coffee. My only disappointment is that it’s kind of tucked away off the main drag and there are many other sub-par coffee houses that are more convenient.

Really a stop-and-go java joint. Honeymoon specializes in wholesale more than retail. However, when the in-store roaster is in action, it’s a nice layover. Some seating awaits as does free wifi and homemade pastries. But for most days, bring your mug in for a $ 1 refill and move along. The coffee is worth it. The original Admiral Joe blend is fairly smooth and silky pick for us traditional black coffee lovers.

I’m bored with Starbucks’ sameness but will admit, on average, they do a pretty consistent job of serving decent-to-good coffee. I’m an espresso fan, but as much as I love independent coffee houses, I usually end up throwing my orders away because they’re too bitter. Someone said that«…espresso should taste like freshly roasted coffee smells.» Turns out, that’s easier to say than to do and explains why most people battle bitterness by dumping a ton of sugar and milk into their drinks. Not so for Honeymoon Bay(knock on wood). I’ve been a few dozen times and will keep coming back. They even roast their own beans, so prepare for a sensory treat when walking in the door. It’s a funky local experience and their free Wi-Fi is blazingly fast — 18 mbs the last time I was there(Starbucks is usually around 1.2 mbs). Mike, the owner/roaster obviously cares about his craft and the staff is friendly. More than enough choices. I’m told that they started out as wholesale-only, supplying restaurants, etc.; however, their taste got so popular that they decided to serve retail at the store. I have friends who drive all the way from Seattle just to restock their supply of Honeymoon beans. If I were to wish for something, it would be for later hours(currently close at 6 pm), and some regular local entertainment(poetry readings, music, whatever). They’re tucked out of sight, just a block northeast of Walmart. Worth the effort. P. S. They don’t serve food.
