I had been a member at Desert Sun before trying Whidbey Tropics, but I’ll never go back. The prices here are so much better, and the people much nicer. They never pressure to buy more tans or lotion than I want.

Whidbey Tropics falls right in the middle for price, but there is a large difference in the price range. When I first came here, I knew absolutely zero about tanning. The lady who was there, I found out later was the owner, was very helpful. She took me to each room and explained the difference between each bed. Told me don’t be shy about stripping all the way down since all the doors have locks (I guess I looked shy), and even gave me some sample lotions.
Over time, I’ve learned a few things — thanks A&P. The biggest thing I’ve learned is to skip the $ 60 – 120 lotions. Yes they do help with the color, and they do last a long time, but… let’s just be honest here — I’m cheap and I think the cheap stuff works almost as well. Well enough to be worth it. The one with a koala bear.
