Now & Then Antiques

Giselle R. of Novato does NOT speak to the store but rather to an incident outside the store. In their defense, I get nervous when children are around my fine things, and the parents are oblivious. I want to know more about quality, service, knowledge of product, etc.
My gripe is I’ve left two phone messages (repeating my number) and not had a call back. I will take my business elsewhere.

Over the years, we have bought many pieces of mission-​style furniture at this store for our cabin in the Sierra. We have found the owner, Fred, very courteous and business-​like. No problem whatsoever, and good prices for quality stuff!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE and HORID ownership. Not only is the owner and staff of this store unnecessarily rude, but the selection is mediocre. I witnessed the owner cuss, and yell at a group of young children on the day of the community Halloween walk. The children were passing by with their parents as the owner proceeded to yell at the youngest (a toddler). Apparently he was too close to the chairs he set out in the front of the store. The toddler appeared to have had innocently walked up to sit in a chair, and was startled when the owner stopped what he was doing indoors to go and yell at the child. He used profanity directed at the kids, in front of customers in the shop, his parents and all passersby. He then proceeded to tell the mom that she needed to train her child ‘not to sit in chairs’ and harassed them as they walked passed defending their children for TWO entire blocks. Yes he followed them, yelling at them for two blocks!!! All this, mind you when there are tons of happy neighborhood children around in Halloween costumes, as the entire neighborhood of shop owners are participating in the giving of candy for the annual community event. Well, not the entire community, he had no bowl of candy to offer — just chairs on the curb that apparently are not meant for sitting.
On principle alone, I will never EVER step foot in their establishment ever again.
